- We arrived back to the South Coast and were relieved to finally be out of the heat. Some rainy days of rest and recharge were exactly what was needed in these moments. 🚌

Love this bay window vans. I had a ‘65 bus that I bought for $600 in ‘71 when I was on my home from the Marines. It wasn’t a westy, but it was a walk thru. Everything I owned fit in a sea bag at the time. My wife and I bought a bay in ‘81 and she used it to haul her dogs around to shows. I vane an’84 Vanagon Westy now with a Subie engine. Life is good.
That’s unbelievable! I can only imagine what living in a VW would have been like back then 🙏🏼
As an oldie, I really love seeing the beautiful old Kombis, they just epitomise the whole "van" thing !!! So glad you are enjoying our great state.....that Fleurieu region has so many great areas to relax and enjoy. Enjoy your catch up time with your family. Once again , thanks for sharing your journeys.

I had a ‘71 I bought in ‘77. It was the best! My favorite car I’ve ever owned. Made many round trips between California and Florida. Made 2 trips from Florida to the Canadian border. Went through 3 engine rebuilds. That little 4 cylinder engine wasn’t up to the loads I carried. When I married my wife and we had so many breakdowns she named it the blue albatross. Finally sold it in ‘82. Still think back to those days when everyone wanted to drive with me.
Wow! What a story 🙏🏼 sounds like blue albatross had many epic adventures. How nice it must be to think back to those times. 💭
Awesome video and i love the vans, my grandpa still has a 1973 VW bus sitting in the garage for 20 years now, it has no rust just some transmissions issues, my uncle is telling me every year that he is gonna fix it next year XD. I also bought an old Mercedes 407 D recently and planning to build it into a campervan this summer, but i still have to save up for the parts :D. Australia looks amazing in my eyes, it is very exotic for me. By the way your channel is underrated i subscribed immediatly. Take care, enjoy your time and greetings from Germany!

Hi there from Denver Colorado. But
From the uk .love the bus . In 1975 when I was 9 yrs old . Parents had a vw kombi 67 split with sliding door. Very rare . Dutch van drove it from UK to Pakistan and back. Think we were on the road for 8 or 9 months. That's going thru the old Yugoslavia and Greece turkey Afghanistan then we drove through the cyber pass . I don't remember much I do have loads of pictures. . Then back to uk . Then after staying with my grandparents. Dad and I two his mates . Drove the bus to Nigeria. Thru the saharan desert . Think I was 11 .
