Previous shop had told the owner his engine was inferior in condition hence the old shop sold him "another" engine and now we rebuild his original to new condition
The VTi civic is one of the most common units locally in our country and alot of fun projects involve it and all. This is something interesting for the locals to see the basics of a proper rebuild, this actually was a fun little project that now would be able to give the current owner some fun and efficient daily use for his car once this engine is installed.

VTi Ph16 Stock Rebuild refresh with a twist - Авто та транспорт
Love the bottom end building videos. Such a wealth of info . Another quality video bro , great job!
Thanks man! Anything that can help make you build a powerful b18c1 in the future Ofcourse we are up for it! Hehehehe 😎
Engine rebuilding at its finest! 🏆 💯
Whoa thanks man! Glad you liked this one 😎
Mirror finished cylinder head surface FTW!😊
yesssss all the help we can get towards superior head gasket sealing is welcomed
Love this video. I have these kalog like problem on my PH16A and most ppl around me keeps saying upgrade my block to D series and last thing I wanna do is to go through the hassle of engine swap indication or tampering the block so this motivates me to save up some paper to be spent to a builder such as yourself. Hoping to have my ride be touched by yours truly sir! 🔥
yeah that’s part of the goal on this video I mean the owner? Thankfully he got to afford his D16 but it’s not yet indicated so he decided to revive his ph16a with us and it saves him the paper works…
the earlier series I did last year on the white vti “bigote” I did talk about the “alog” it was a 200k mile motor with alog but no smoke and all good static comp
We rebuild it and checked on the dyno but before that? The final assembly on new rings and all still showed “alog” thats cuz there’s piston to wall clearance 😎 that can’t not exist hehehe
Another great rebuild! Sucks that shops still outsmart innocent customers that don't know any better, i hope more and more people go to your as first preference than other shops so you can build an even bigger clientele. Great video brother
So true and but current customer lucky he afforded the “offered” engine I mean imagine for others that it’s way out of their budget aside from maintenance right? They’d have their car stuck sad
hopefully the vid helps and widens awareness locally for me
@@SRDmotorsports true, hope you can help as much people as possible because I know you're a genuine guy
Oh man thank you brother! and I def will try to keep improving how we share stuff here for those that need a little enlightenment
And for those like us , that just can’t get enough of engines and builds 🤣
Nice and clean build! I see alot of stock vti’s that when tuning ang building done the right way seems to make good power than a Frankenstein
This! I agree a friend of mine tuned a vti that’s stock and with a non perfect drive it did 15.1sec in Clark
Yeah indeed. Whats your opinion on small cam high compression ratio and how it affects VE on high rpms? Would like to hear that from an expert like you sir.
well locally for some reason people are fixated on pm6 for the vti when pocketing it actually lowers compression and then the risk of all 4 not being equal
But when it comes to the B series “stock block” still makes good power so I dunno where the local sohc peeps got that presumption
But then again they’re also the same peeps that has a higher failure rate than local dohc peeps
Thinking a mild cam with more lift would really wake it, and make a fun ride.
Thanks for sharing and Happy New Year Y’all…
Oh man that is so so true would make it like as if a typeR dseries 😎
Happy new year brother !
Yes sir up and running
Yes sir yes sir 😎
Nice job
Always always love to share what’s fun hehe
Love your content!!!!!
Thank you and super glad man! 😎
can you please tell me where the blue valve seals go on ? (blue on intake and brown on exhaust?) thanks
depends what brand seals they are but the blue usually is the hi temp Viton seals so there’s a chance it’s on the exhaust
First one 😂😆 i love brother's man videos🎉
Super glad you brother 😎
@@SRDmotorsports you know i cant miss any of this informational videos, love your videos brother man keep them coming i have learned a lot from you
Oh wow! that is what makes this fun for me to share these good stuff man! for guys like you that appreciate it 😎
Very very much appreciated good information thanks ones again
definitely a reason to keep improving what we share 🙏
had a compression of over 210 psi and had detonation problem down low
that needs a proper tune
The VTi I did but had crower is about 255psi on all 4
Hi,
I noticed that you applied sealant when you were installing the cylinder head gasket? May I ask what specific sealant are you using?
Also, assuming that both the head and block are perfectly flat (surface) and/or properly resurfaced, is it mandatory to use such sealant? Or will just using original Honda head gasket (without any sealant, shellac, etc) be okay?
That’s okay without it… it’s just if u notice
even if resurfaced both sides? there are times some builds seep a bit of oil or is damp at the corners there, we do this to keep it dry just a super thin layer
Threebond or Hondabond is what we use
(Most of the time threebond cuz that’s available)
if u are local ud notice in PADEK “a lot” wonder about this and most blame Oring or cam deal right away cuz they got some for sale 🤣
How about some mechanics using Shellac sealant and apply them to the cylinder head gasket upon install? What's your opinion on this?
really no need actually that’s the 70s-80s type of sealant when resurfacing wasn’t as good
Ok thanks so much. I really appreciate your professional and honest feedback! ❤
What's the biggest valves I can go with on intake and exhaust in a sohc vtec and what valve springs and retainers do they make also do they make dual valve springs and retainers for sohc engines and what rods do I need thanks alot 0:04
no dual valve springs for sohc
Valve size usually 1mm oversize is fine but a lot of times not needed
@SRDmotorsports thanks alot
no problem
Out of curiosity, what tuneable ecu can we use with the stock vti motor?
Any rechipped obd1 ecu just need an obd2 to obd1 adapter
port matching i/e po8 head with 20 camlobes , was it good for daily?
improving efficiency is always good (some locals would say otherwise cuz it’s stock)
so they don’t think improving fuel efficiency is worth it?
what is the typical compression for a healthy d series?
Anything over 200psi when stock is good and decent as long as all 4 are within 2-3% of one another
ano ba Yung mga makina na meron roller ang rocker arms bukod sa k
D ko sure
magkano po parebuild ng vti engine?
