Enjoyed watching this while in my V8 IS500. I like the fact there's still competition in the sport sedan segment.
the Audi S4 is tens times better than this garbage 4 Cylinder car and is better than your slow IS500
@@timsautovision6145 Easy, tiger lol There's always room for competition. It's how the industry weighs-in and improves. I happen to own a B9 S4 Prestige. Great daily.
@@timsautovision6145 lol, you're funny! I didn't want the C43, M340, S4 or anything else in the segment. But I'm glad great choices still exist.
For now I can live with my slow IS500 just like my even slower LC500.

78k for a turbo 4? Doesn't the TLX loaded go for 58k?
I wholeheartedly agree, anything north of $65K for a four-pot in a German vehicle is downright ludicrous.
@@PorscheCayenneLover This is not your ordinary 4 pot. It is the legendary M139 hand built and fully forged engine with twin scroll turbo. It is amazing, I have 2023 GLA 45 AMG with this engine and I drove TLX before buying the AMG .....not even close to feel, handling, power, engine sound and character. Oh, and mine was 60 k MSRP I managed to get it for 56k USD. You do not need most of the options. DO not spec it more than 60-65 k, and look for a deal.
$78,000 is absolutely disgusting. You can get an Audi S5 sportback for literally $20,000 cheaper, and it will have 2 more cylinders + a sexier body + a much bigger trunk!
Could even get into a G80 M3 for that.

Save yourself the money. Get the c300. This thing is basically that - a soulless 4 cylinder automatic.
We need an airline six variant ... For the sedan not just the coupe ...

I love the exterior and interior design, but having a four-cylinder at this price is a HARD pass for me. It may be quick at 4.6, but it is disappointing that Mercedes-Benz is utilizing a four-cylinder at an AMG-lite. This type of engine belongs at the base model only, I hope enough complaints make Mercedes-Benz change their minds on this.

For me - this.
The problem is that this car feels like a C300 ~65% of the time. The base model, albeit with AMG night package which brings the car to over $55k, handles nearly as well and both make the same sounds in normal to moderate driving. I would understand the argument that the AMG-crafted 4 cylinder was designed to adhere with emission and consumption standards, but its improvement in efficiency is immaterial so it is hard to agree with their downsizing strategy. More so, it is frustrating to see a lack of distinction and feel across different caliber of cars. This car cements that the old AMGs will forever have a special place in automotive history.
The big boy AMG’s? You mean the GLC with the same engine but electric boost?
Anything with a 63 on it.
The thing starts at ~$90k CAD, and throw in a few options you're looking at a C-class with a 2.0T engine that stickers for 6 figures. Yikes...
Even as a diehard Mercedes fan, I'm struggling with this one!
I drove 2023 C43 AMG and 2023 GLA 45 AMG.... Bought GLA 45 immediately a month ago. Much better vehicle and more practical than the C43. The M 139 engine is a masterpiece. Do not be afraid. :)

As brilliant as this C is, it’s is more befitting of an S badge than an AMG. $78k is lunacy.
in 2 years its going to be worth $15K...
About 50 k in 2 years with 20 k miles, in 4 years about 35-40k with 40-50 k miles.
m340 still wins this segment
As usual, the purist will come with pitchforks. To me, less cylinders/hand built means less things to worry about... Usually..

bmw 340i is faster than this C43.
Yes, BMW 12.3 sec 113 mph vs MB 12.5 sec 111mph. C43 AMG sounds a bit better and handles better.
