I'd get this over most other high performance SUVs. Merc has really up'd their game. Interior is top notch, and they have found a nice blend between driving dynamics and luxury.
On a side note, its impressive to see a sub 4.0 seconds 0-60 time. that's actually incredible for these massive SUVs. amazing times we live in (excl. corona, and all the bad crap happening around us).

This GLE is my FAV current Mercedes; with or without AMG.
Really good review. I just bought the 2020 GLE 450 (not the AMG version). I also added about $25,000 worth of options. I was surprised to hear you say this did not have heads up display? Mine has it. It’s optional but your version was $115,000 and didn’t include it? Mercedes is all about the options. The options on the GLE can easily cost as much as a midsize sedan.

I’m pretty sure you can get optional power reclining second row seats that adjusts back and forth, which is apart of another option package. 😅
I believe you are correct. Good point. This was an early build before retail pricing and options were fully released.
This looks gorgeous. Wide haunches, conservative frontend that'll age splendidly.

WOW, great review. The only thing I noticed, the GLE does not have a DCT (dual clutch transmission) though.
I keep getting BMW ads it’s like they are saying “Please don’t choose Mercedes we are losing” I can’t blame em tho Mercedes is smashing BMW and Lexus not even in the halfway mark in sales
have you sat in one? I personally found the X5 to be more comfortable and luxurious than the GLE
JTM 610 now are you sure you sat in a GLE with the air suspension? It was a cloud

There IS a heads-up. My AMG GLE 53 should be here in October. My build includes a heads-up display.

You can get a heads up display, and also electricly operated rear seats, as option like in every other premium car, do a research before review

Steve, at any point during your time with this were you able to pop a wheelie? Because it looks like it's about to druing a few parts of the video.

the comments about ride quality and road noise are deal breakers. I just can't for the life of me understand why Mercedes doesn't make the comfort mode comfortable. It's possible, but they just don't do it.
It’s comfortable compared to sport or sport plus. Not actually comfortable 😂

In 3 years, this vehicle will only be worth about $60k. Only way this thing makes sense is lease for 3 years and give it back before all the really expensive repairs kick in once the warranty is close to expiring.

most mercedes benz including 63 AMG Service B from 500-700 depends on where you live. unless special model like GT. maybach and SLs
Chopper Style my GLS 63AMG was $2500 every 7-9k miles!!! I had prepaid service but my brakes required changing more than my damn oil!
Autonomous driving? If you don't want to trouble yourself with piloting your vehicle you certainly don't want to spend the money on this "driver-oriented" car! Great video though, thanks..:)
Do you do all the camera work/driving/editing all by yourself?
I use a revolving roster of volunteer drivers but the rest is all me.

You are horribly wrong.
Service is not cheap but the reliability
is probably one of the best daily drivable fun SUV on the market. I prefer the 5.5L Bi Turbo. In my opinion it just sounds better. But who can argue with the technology and styling of the new Body Style. It’s called a staple and it will be copied by every manufacturer for the next 10 years.

@Steve Hammes New Car Reviews In my country the last gen GLE63S cost around 270-290 US$. And the AMGs in the states are also cheaper than a lot of European countries that even include Germany. The car price in the US are really one of the cheapest.

What Mercedes will do is sell u a very expensive model. You will thing, GREAT, BIG PRICE, SJOULD COME WITH MANY OPTIONS! Well that is not the case as typical German brands will offer you a HUGE amount of options even if you have a 100,00 dollar car.
