I bought one of these used from a wreck but it was just the winch, no solenoid, wires, fairlead roller or remote. Do I have to buy the expense Smitty solenoid or are there cheaper options?
To get the best result you should always use the correct parts for the winch, but with enough ingenuity any modern winch solenoid pack could probably be modified to work. At the end of the day, it's just making sure that power gets applied to the motor correctly.
I tried replacing the fuse and that did not work. Where did you order the solenoid / control box? I find a universal control box but do not know for sure that it works on the Smittybuilt winch. Thanks
I don't own that winch anymore, sorry. Edit...paying more attention I see you're trying to get the wiring of the solenoid. I'm sorry, I don't have that.
I salvaged the solenoid from another winch I had laying around. You can contact Smittybilt Customer Service and they should be able to help you find your part.
WOW, YOU DID THAT SO FAST i WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE CONNECTIONS YOU MADE! TRY SLOWING DOWN NEXT TIME AND GIVE US MORE VERBAL AND VISUAL DETAILS OF HOW YOU CONNECTED THE SOLENOID, PLEASE?
I took a picture of the old solenoid before I disconnected it, and then just followed the picture when I put the wires back on the new one. Nothing special, really. My channel isn't really a How-To channel, but thanks for the feedback!

You can contact Smittybilt Customer Service, but since the change of ownership it's hard to know if they'll be able to help. Good luck.
Needed to see the wiring connections...took mine apart ¬ sure of all connections. Can you do or show wiring connections inside box?

That was absolutely no help
I never promoted it as a How-To, so ... I'm sorry you didn't like it.
I fixed mine today. Ended up being the fuse in the solenoid case.
another successful repair from Pete's garage!! excellent work, enjoyed the close up time lapse! well done!
Thanks 👍
Can you post a link from where you ordered the parts
