    This isn’t true Bauer started training other places before Driveline. He worked with the Texas Baseball Ranch before Driveline. Not all of Bauer’s training regiment comes from Driveline. Much of the early Driveline training regiment is derived from other sources such as Dr. Marshall for example. Weighted balls predate Driveline they just popularized them which in itself is a very important contribution to the game and player development.

    • @PurelyBaseballYT
      @PurelyBaseballYT  Місяць тому +6

      Completely agree. Dr. Marshall is responsible for a lot of the training methods done in driveline, and baseball as a whole.
      I recently began working on a potential Marshall video actually. Only problem is lack of clips, could make it hard to produce.. but regardless, it’s important people know the names of people like Marshall.

      @@PurelyBaseballYT Good video overall btw. Driveline & Kyle Boddy have done a lot to push the game forward.
      I wonder how much the current success that the Reds have had with pitching etc is due to the residual effects of Boddy’s work and infrastructure and culture he helped put in place there? Even though he’s no longer there I would guess that there is some correlation to some of the success they’ve been able to sustain/hold on to.

      I find it fascinating that weighted balls were bread and butter of the Cuban throwing programme. This produced talented pitchers. As Cubans started to learn from the Americans and use MLB programmes, they faced out the use of weighted balls...and lo and behold now it seems to be an essential part of the "new methodology".

      @@PurelyBaseballYT don't forget the Texas Baseball Ranch. They also developed ideas from Marshall, Nyman, Rugby teams, Verstegan. Driveline was heavily influenced by Ron in the early days. Ron Wolforth was doing weighted balls early early 2000s. From an injury reduction standpoint, Ron may have pushed the game further with connection ball training, popularizing glove side importance, and building workload capacity. This doesn't take anything away from Driveline at all. They have pushed the game in a lot of areas as well. Also important to note that Trevor was working with the Texas Baseball Ranch when he was with the DBacks.

    Very good video, def gonna subscribe! I think success league wide right now has a lot to do with some teams buying into it and some not. The players and franchises utilizing these kind of analytics and different ways of training seem to be having consistent success. However I do agree with the human element, I see managers do things that i disagree with, that they wouldn’t have done 20 years ago in that situation but the analytics say there’s this .0009% better outcome if they do what the computers says lol Joe maddon said it best that these managers aren’t using their gut anymore and he’s a huge fan of analytics and weird strategies.

    The so called secret is teach the Roger Beshens Football Slider. Bauer got his due Karma, June 28 was his last game. Roger's mothers birthday. Bauer's mistake was at the 2018 AS Game saying he taught himself a slider that Roger Beshens told him about months earlier. That's documented. The Dbacks social media PHNX talks about how the Dbacks throw the Roger Beshens Football Slider. All that pitching lab, pitch design, is all Bullshit. There aren't any pitches being designed, Driveline, Tread are all going to be exposed as frauds teaching the Roger Beshens Football Slider in most cases wrong. Lawsuits will be coming soon. Lawyers are all over this one. Negligence is simple to prove.
    There is a copy of a message Kyle Boddy sent to Roger Beshens that any jury will convict Boddy of fraud and Driveline in minutes.

    velo improves BUT ....... injuries have gone up (just Tommy John injuries have gone up almost 50% since 2015) ... be careful pitchers the 3-5 mph increase is screwing up your mechanics especially deceleration and torque on the shoulder and elbow. Plus statcast increased the "top velo" numbers since it reads the speed of the pitch on release instead of at home plate like radar had been doing since radar started in baseball. So your speed is actually 4-6mph slower than you think it is... just sayin' 🤷⚾ #truthbomb

Of course you have to have talent to begin with but if you have young guys you can convince to buy into you program and they have talent then your 2/3 of the way there, you just need a solid program and your in a good spot.
