Your description is step-by-step, catering to beginners with clear and slow speech, making it extremely helpful, especially for non-native speakers. I thoroughly enjoy all of your videos. wonderful jobs!
Thanks for a very easy to understand tutorial. For some reason when I use autotext the cursor behaves differently. Sometimes it goes to a new line and sometimes it stays next to the autotext entry?
Thank you so much for watching! I haven't experienced the issue you describe, but I'm wondering if perhaps when you selected certain text to add to the AutoText Gallery you have also selected a line break?
@@erinwrightwriting Thanks very much for getting back to me. I highlight the text then (I think) follow the same steps each time. Sometimes I get a line break and sometimes the cursor is at the end of the word after inserting auto text. I insert by typing the beginning of the word/sentence and then hit enter rather than use the mouse and drop down menus.
@@erinwrightwriting Thanks. You are absolutely right. I tried the "show paragraph/marks" button and I was unintentionally putting a line break on some of the text! Very easy to fix with the "show paragraph/marks " button switched on.
Great question! Unfortunately, sharing text blocks (which are technically building blocks) with others is rather difficult. The easiest way may be to create a custom template saved in a shared location and then create the text block within that custom template. In the Modify Building Block dialog box, you should then be able to choose that custom template from the Save in menu. I wish you all the best!
Great question! You can use Autocorrect instead of Autotext to insert saved text with an abbreviation. I have a separate tutorial showing that process: ua-cam.com/video/_JhwnixAJfs/v-deo.html. I hope you find it helpful!
All the steps shown here are listed with images on my website at erinwrightwriting.com/autotext-in-microsoft-word/. Thank you for watching!

Thank you for taking the time to share such a kind comment! I really means a lot to me!
Excellent. Just started a new job where I am going to be writing the same phrases repeatedly!

Thanks for your video 👍How can I share the newly created text blocks for someone else use?

Can I make saved autotexts appear when I type an appropriate abbreviation? Is such a feature available on MS word or Google Doc?

I guess I don't understand the use case? When would you use this feature?
Thank you for watching! This feature is useful for people who have to repeatedly insert the same text (such as legal disclosures) into documents.
👍
Nice to see you again! Thank you for watching!
