Nice quilt, lovely coolors.. love it.. one hourglass block is turned the wrong site so it doesn't make a star. So glad to see that I am not the only one making does little mistakes :-) Thank you for sharing!!
@@lorraineleclerc5960 I am always watching Laura's video's with great joy and made lot's of things she teach and showing us. She is lovely, and she's not perfect, none of us is. My reaction was kind of spontaneous. And for me it is rather normal that people point at mistakes I made before I quilt my quilt. I always hang my top quilt at the wall so family and friends can see and point out any errors. And it rarely happen that I don't have one, and sometimes they missed an error too.
As usual, SEW VERY EASY! Thank you for this beautiful quilt pattern! Maybe I do have time for a table runner like this. Just gorgeous. You are so appreciated by all of us!
I made a scrappy quilt once using the odd fellows' chain block, which is almost identical. I did it the hard way with a lot of flying geese and double flying geese. I wish I'd worked out how to break up the pattern the way you did! It would have been much easier. Something I'll remember for next time, I hope.
The colors are beautiful and so rich looking. When you look at it done it looks so overwhelming but once you start explaining and showing each block and how to do it then it seems doable afterall. Thank you for sharing your ways on how to quilt and making it something we can achieve as well. :)
Your quilt is beautiful! I have had some blue and white fabric from Laundry Basket Quilts. The pattern has several cat’s cradle blocks….your way of making them seems so much easier…not to mention, I might like your pattern more…thank you for your lesson. I think it is time to pull that fabric out!
This is really gorgeous and you made it look easier than I thought it would be. I need to make a Christmas gift and I think this would be perfect using the Red Hot FQ bundle and make it in red and white. I will be doing that this weekend. Thank you for sharing such an easier way to make the cats in the cradle block.
I’m just curious Laura….about how many quilts have you made? 😂 I bet you’ve lost count! 😂. As a newbie to this quilting world, how would you charge for this? By the project or by the hour? I’m narrowing down my data I’m collecting to see if it’s feasible to have a “side hustle” to make quilts and/or embroidery. The more services one offers, the more machines & other sewing/cutting/embroidery/quilting products you’ll need! It can get expensive very quickly eh?! I bet your sewing room has all the bells & whistles my newbie heart desires! 😉 If you ever decide to cut back or sell anything, I hope you think of me!! I’ll reply to your next newsletter so you’ll have my info. Love watching and learning from you, a definite S-hero (shero instead of hero) in my book!! Beautiful quilt!! You are truly amazing 🤩
I love two block quilts, yours is gorgeous - wonky block and all! 🥰 I will be trying your method for the Cat's Cradle; I've not seen this one before. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know I am thankful for quilters like you Laura, who give so freely here on YT.
Love this pattern and love the blue and white and gold. Unfortunately I can’t find the blue pattern, it’s sold out where I found it. Thanks for the easy instructions. I hope to find it before too long.
Laura, this is gorgeous🥰 Could you please tell us more of the blue tape on your larger ruler?! I like that idea and hav to seen that product🙃. This is now on my wannado list!!! Thank you ❤️😀
I’m partial to Northcott fabrics. They have a beautiful, soft hand. Love a 2 fabric quilt pattern. There’s a little quirk in your top though. Easy to fix before quilting. 2 blocks from the lower right and 2 blocks up the little hst are off pattern. Nice to know I’m not the only quilter who has a glitch once in a while.😊
Working on this quilt. Doing the subunits is fine but a nightmare when trying to join the quarter blocks into the large blocks. Even twirling seams and trying to plan how others go ahead of time, I wind up with thick joins of 8 layers or more. Not a fan of pressing all seams open but it seems that's what was needed. More pressing tips would be a great value- for the cat's cradle and outer edges of hsts! Beautiful but final assemble is totally stressing me out...
Beautiful quilt. I was looking for an idea for a blue and silver quilt, this is perfect. I like the idea of a tablerunner- definitely doable for Christmas. I wonder if the 8-inch block pieces could be cut on the Accuquilt? I am going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing! ❄️
Laura. I can not find a link to the pattern. It takes me to Amazon I can not find the book this is in. Can you assist? I love the quilt Thank you for another beauty
You are just a amazing teacher and person i love you!!and...blue is my christmas theme this year so nice to have this tutorial!!! :D thanks Laura !!! :D xxxxxxxxxxx
Hi Laura, Thank you for the beautiful pattern. Just a little request, on row 4 from the top, and the second star from the left, you've made a little turnaround. The triangles on top left are turned around. I just love it. A big Hello from Switzerland.
Good evening Laura Ann, I love Northcott fabrics, their designs are just so beautiful but unfortunately i can't afford to get them here in the UK because of all the taxes that get loaded on, making it turn out to be more than double the actual cost of the fabric. For these reasons i do love to see their lovely fabrics used in making things, not just quilts. I have a question about making with quilting weight fabrics....If you are wanting to make clothes from quilting weight fabric, do you find out how much it shrinks by or just make a larger size? I know that you love sewing of all genres and this is why i am asking yourself. Thank you for another beautiful make flower, i do so enjoy when i see your name in my email box as of having loaded another project. Crafty hugs from Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
that is a good question:) I almost always wash my fabric before I sew any garment. ( That is if it can be washed and not dry cleaned) and that way I never have to worry about my fabric shrinking. I wash it just like I would wash it after it was made. But I do dry it in my dryer on its own and I only dry it for about 7 minutes and then I take it out and give it a good press while it is still warm
I so wanted to make this quilt but the Beige fabric is out of stock. HOPEFULLY they will get more in stock So I can't order the blue without the beige. So disappointed
Gorgeous. You probably already noticed, but there is one little block turned the wrong way. You may want to fix it before you quilt it. 3rd row up and 3rd block over -- I think.
`*.¸.*☆ G'Day from Australia ☆*.¸.*` What a beautiful quilt! Yes one block was a rebel, adds charm... lol .... Thanks for sharing. Will there be a PDF of this pattern?
I think there was a mistake on one of your blocks -2nd row from bottom 2nd from right. But it is still looks beautiful. Maybe it's not too late to fix.
I also wanted to thank you for all you have taught me. I love quilting as much as you do and when making a busy quilt like this one it's easy to get crossed eyed. I'm making a providence quilt now and every now and then my 1/2 square triangles go wonkie too. It happen... sew on sister.
Nice quilt, lovely coolors.. love it.. one hourglass block is turned the wrong site so it doesn't make a star. So glad to see that I am not the only one making does little mistakes :-) Thank you for sharing!!
Too bad you had to make yourself feel better about your mistakes by pointing out someone else’s error.
I know I always appreciate when a friend let's me know that I've goofed somewhere, especially when the quilt hasn't been quilted.
@@lorraineleclerc5960 I personally like to know what I need to fix
Wow, good eye! It's surprising how easy it is to miss a mistake
