Is the horse guards a petting zoo? Is it a tourist attraction? Or is it a military establishment? I am sickened at how the crowds are allowed to act if it is meant to be a serious military base. Horse Guards is the official front entrance to Buckingham Palace and the Guard was mounted there well before the Police were formed also to give prestige to the King/Queen. The Guard was not designed as a tourists attraction.
The horse is so unhappy, why doesn't the guard say something I know they aren't liking what is happening to the animals they love. Unfortunately it's a public footpath, and roping, barricading around the boxes, horses and guards would endanger their well being, should a horse spook, decide not to work, or bolt.

The decision is up to the local council members as well. The Ministry of Defense headquarters is just a short distance away, across the road from the horse guards and barracks, should their be any terrorist attacks. I'm not from the UK , I'm American. I watch these because I wish I could visit but I have to say one thing. I'd have to avoid this part of the tour because I'd not be so polite telling these idiot tourists to stop laying all over the horses! Has no one noticed that when the horse has had enough. They throw their head up. As if to say go away. I noticed this a lot with 2 of the black horses. They do it a lot before they start playing up. Moving out of the box and not wanting to go back in. So we have a press the button moment.
