Thank you for that explanation on what they look for when judging dogs. I'm a non-dog expert who likes to watch puppies on the Internet and learned a lot. Jamba will be a great addition to the family, I have a soft spot for little Etta but I know all of the puppies are going to great loving homes.
In addition to technical evaluation, keep in mind that Jamba has personality. At dog shows, when dogs have already been judged best in their breed, the judges do look at personality. What a loveable dog!
Stacking an 8 week old. Can’t tell if he’s showing white around his eyes. Great evaluation. He was my pick early on. Looking forward to seeing how he develops.
Jamba is just a tad lighter around the left eye than the right, but still pigmented well enough to show. His great grandmother was excessively white around the left eye, and it still comes back to haunt us occasionally.

Is there any waiting list we could join? Or a way to contact you so you can keep us in mind?

Just lost my boy this week to a heart attack from MVD. Would really appreciate any advice you have on the future Cavalier to try and avoid this issue of heart disease as much as possible. ?
Only consider a breeder who does health testing on the PARENTS of the puppy. They should have written heart clearances on both sire and dam, from a cardiologist, and the exam should have been done within a year of the breeding. Pamuk didn't develop quite as finished as we would have liked in order to show him, so we placed him with a man who had gotten another puppy from us years ago. He lives very happily right at the beach in Fort Lauderdale FL.

For a Cavalier puppy, anywhere from 2 1/2 to 4 pounds.

How many lbs does he weigh at 8 weeks? I'm asking cause I'm getting a pup soon and he only weighed about 2.2 lbs at 7 weeks.
I haven't weighed him lately, but I would expect him to be around 4 pounds by now. The girls are a bit smaller.
My cav had 9 pups and the biggest is 2.4 lbs at 18 days
