    fender Rhoads electric piano
    Roland Juno 60 synth
Roland chorus echo (the weird box that Nils sticks his hand in to sometimes)
Electroharmonix #1 echo (the pedal on the Juno)
Moog moogerfooger ring modulator (the fancy looking pedal on the Roland chorus echo)
and of course the most important piece of gear:
    Nils
also rhoads pianos are so weird, nothing really like them has been made in the last 60 years, they are like an electric guitar and a piano had an odd baby that wears synthesizer clothes.
    anywho cheers, i like gear

Nils Frahm makes me doubt every single thing that I have ever known to be true. Yeah, music that speaks to the soul does that.

If you just close your eyes long enough, you are in pure blizz. This is the perfect combination of melody and production. And only a talent, a truly talented man, sent to earth to fill us with a beutiful abstrahation from the quiet times of our day here in 2020.

Millions of likes for commercially successful substance-less tripe, and a mere 20,000 for a masterpiece like this. World is screwed up. Thankfully there is still music like this out there for those willing to find it.

      It's marketing.
I've encountered some EXCELLENT musicians who don't have much of a social media presence, don't advertise their work effectively, and their online store doesn't include any hats or t-shirts when that could EASILY boost their income while also promoting their band.
If you want to be a financially successful musician, you have to go beyond just music. Make some t-shirts. Build a social media presence. Promote your work and encourage people to share it. Post regular updates so that people can follow your work, and try to post regular updates.

I think the most deep, beautiful and soul-stirring music & experiences will always be far from the mainstream. They require a different level of sensitivity and consciousness!

Hey, since no one ever gave you an explanation, he's using a vintage synthesizer and a tape delay to lengthen and flesh out the sounds the synthesizer is creating. It takes hundreds of hours of practice with expensive vintage equipment to be able to make sounds like that
