I lived there till I was 14. Mom got remarried in 84 and we moved to wood river. Hopefully one day I get to go back and just drive around and reminisce. Thanks for the video.
I started working part time on the ambulance in Jerseyville on my days off from the fire Department in 1989. I met my wife who was a Greene County Ambulance EMT and we have been married for 29 years. I love the tri county area and continued to work there after retirement from the FD.
Love this, I have a lot of family in Jerseyville,Hardin,Carrollton, Greenfield, Alton, Bethalto, Illinois. I use to work at Jerseyville Walmart 20 years ago. I wish you would go Hardin, Kampsville, Hamburg Illinois in Calhoun county it’s where the Mississippi and Illinois river divide. Thanks for posting this! It made my Heart glad!
I just moved to this town right before you published this video. The Pizza Hut closed and is replaced with a Scooters Coffee shop, there is now a KFC in town, and another coffee place just opened right next to Diary Queen
I'm very familiar with everywhere you just drove through. Drove thousands of miles on them over 45 years of driving on them. Jerseyville isn't what it use to be but its still home.
Do you know the proper definition of a redneck? He or she is trusted their word is as good as their bond and is trustworthy I feel say the biggest redneck I ever met with a black man when I was just a kid. I racist town I grew up in and think much of him but he could fix about anyting. People would call him regardless what part of town they are from. Like any redneck he worked hard from sunup to sundown and his word was as good as gold. And he spent a considerable amount outside his neck has a very slight tinge of red.
You should come to arcola but during our broomcorn festival, any time other than that there’s absolutely nothing here. Fun fact we are the headquarters for libmans, the home of raggity Anne and also the town of the hippy memorial.
I’m from the area, if you have not been to Grafton Ill, You should check it out. Lots to do. It’s a river town on the Great River Road. Start in Alton and go thru Grafton, it loops around and goes back thru Jerseyville.
Wasn't able to go there on the August trip (The trip that I went to Jerseyville on) but I did go there on a trip back in November, and I filmed the drive from Alton to Grafton. Stay tuned.
Great little town, has became kind of a far flung bedroom community of the STL Metro east with many folks living there and commuting to St Louis or elsewhere in the Metro East for work.

Jk you aren’t wrong and I didn’t realize that Monsanto was carpet bombing us into intellectual property. Man I’ve enjoyed these. If for some god awful reason you end up in northern Nebraska, I went to college in Wayne Nebraska, an interesting and quirky town that’s a ghost town in the summer. Just beware of the local florist there. Even though I ended up hating the job and probably won’t revisit the area I greatly appreciate your south county STL videos. I don’t know if it’s bad form but if you ever drive any of the sub divisions, I will use them to tell my kids war stories of my days under House Bezos. Thanks for making these
Was raised in the area, graduated from the high school, then escaped to the big world decades ago. Found Jerseyville to be a small town filled with people with small minds. Things may have changed, but from my experience you stayed in Jerseyville if you didn't have what it took to make it anywhere else. Most of my high school graduating class stayed in Jerseyville and the immediate area.

Hey, I live there! lol (Also, that Impala on that one road has not moved since I moved into Jerseyville lol)
ALSO! You should visit Meridosia, Illinois! It's a nice little town next to the river, that's my home town!😊😊
I started working part time on the ambulance in Jerseyville on my days off from the fire Department in 1989.
I met my wife who was a Greene County Ambulance EMT and we have been married for 29 years.

Great video. As 67 is being fixed up through Illinois, this town is probably going to get bypassed. Hopefully that won't have a negative impact.

best place to enjoy 4th of july "Merica" feel. The parades, the fair, and just good decent folk. (Georgia boy)

My wife’s hometown. I’m from the Chicago suburbs. We plan on moving down there after I retire.
Great video
You should come to Highland next time you’re in St. Louis. Hidden gem on the East side of the river with lots of history.
You should visit the fabulous Grotto in Dickeyville, WI, some time.
I’m from the area, if you have not been to Grafton Ill,
You should check it out. Lots to do.

Cool, I’ll keep eye out for it!
The bluffs at Pere Marquette
Have a great view of the river.
You can drive all the way to the top.
@@BadAndy01979 it is also cool because of the old Nike missle base and the view of the St Louis Arch.
That was a big Sunday afternoon party spot back in the day.
@@ChrisHarden Go over to Calhoun County.
hillybilly ranch is awesome. You should’ve went by the Cheney mansion

Or I could’ve zoomed into the license plate of the convertible that was in-front of me.
