I have had my Black Hog for a while now. Really cool little device. I got the setup where it has 4 slider bars on it. My only regret is that DCS doesn't have a lot of controls in most modules that can use those sliders as a control so I almost wish I could have replaced those with 3 way switches or buttons instead.
When my friends call over to play DCS in VR I'd really love to push them down the stairs when they eject. I think it would really add to the immersion and any scars resulting from said action would make pretty good stories. It really would be an oh bollox button then. Good review as always, think I will pick one up in the next few weeks.
Thank you sir! At my New Years party a guy tried DCS in VR for the first time, I operated the switches while he used stick and throttle, when it became apparent that he was plummeting into the sea, I flipped the eject, tilted and kicked his chair. Poor dude almost shat himself. It's only a matter of time before one of those serious pit builders off themselves with serious head injuries while testing a home build ejection seat.
a fine side switch panel, but in my opinion it should as minimum be with background light (or a more high end version with programmable background lightning)
Yup...ordered mine in February of 2019 and I'm still waiting! But it's all good, I've been assured more than once over the months that I'll have it "soon," because it's [finally] "in production" and "sorry for the delays." If not for extended business travel over several months of this year I would have cancelled already. It's wrong how the reviewers manage to get there's, but the little guys are left twisting in the wind. Buyer beware if you want it any time soon. Reviewers beware that your good name may get abused - especially since Ruben took down the lead time notification page of his site that he failed to update in a timely manner before he gave it up altogether.
Thank you sir! This can be an issue with new products from new smaller companies until they get supply chains up and running, I remember Virpil encountering similar issues at the start. I would suggest chasing them to see what's going on, and keep chasing (when a consumer becomes a pain in the arse companies tend to fulfill their orders quickly just to be rid of them). I hope it gets resolved soon for you!
It always sets me up for the day to listen to your irreverent banter on these flight sim issues. Well explained and amusing as always. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much good sir! I hope it doesn't set you up in the same way Youporn sets me up for the day...actually even if it does I'm happy to assist!
The concept is great, but I really wish it included a nice chunky landing gear handle there, where they are on virtually every jet aircraft. Missed opportunity to me.
LOL... MADE ME LAUGH TODAY... thus no, “go f*** yourself” comments. Thinking of getting one of these and a cup holder to, ‘hold my beer,. While gaming. Great video!
Thank you sir! It fucking is, it relocated several times under assumed names, I believe it was behind the recent miniture rocketry program I recently broke up in my kitchen!
Looks like a control box with which you operate the diabolical machines in your sex dungeon. So, does this setup put your throttle a little farther back than a standard table mount ? Will it necessitate moving your chair a few inches back just to be in a comfy position for your throttle hand ?
Thank you sir! Interesting you should say that, I had mapped it to both my PC and dungeon, bad idea, LG up and gates open was not wise. Took 3 trips out into the freezing cold with a tranquiliser gun to manage the midget escape. In answer to your question it pushes the throttle a little further back, if you use your throttle lower and at the side it's fine, but on a table it may be a bit of a pain.
Thank you sir! I've no particular favourite, so long as it's packed by naked ladies with shaven havens. One can't be too careful when it comes to hygiene!
@@Laobi lol Funny you watched those, the camera quality is fucking terrible as they were recorded using an old (even at the time) built in Laptop camera. I need another 19th Century revolver as I currently only have modern semi-autos. Making a High resolution version is something I do want to do one day.
I have a general interest in firearms, so they caught my attention, plus most people make videos on the latest and greatest. I like 19th century revolvers and early to mid 20th Century semis (the older Hi Power being one of my favourites). There's just something almost mythical with the older revolvers. Please make more!
@@Laobi I like 19th Century firearms as well. I'll make more videos once I get another 19th Century revolver or a modern reproduction. Funny you posted this as I'm trying to sell a modern revolver I do have for a modern Colt single action copy.
DUDE!!! Spoiler alert!! I was watching avidly, waiting for the moment the fly met his maker then accidently scrolled down and saw this comment. You ruined my whole viewing experience. Thanks for that ;o)
Thank you sir! I have mapped volumes for TACAN, Radio etc., What I have found is if there is an axis available for the control in the DCS settings it will bind to one of the knobs/sliders, obviously same goes for the opposite.
@@Laobi my find too. However if it is not an axis command, I have found it impossible to map. E.g. for gogles brightness...DCS has that mapped as key binds up and down - even if it is in fact a rotary in the pit... I had hoped 😁
Thank you sir! It sounds like one of few things may be going on. Either: A: The generic windows joystick/controller drivers are missing, try get them from the Microsoft website, unplug the Blackhog, install the drivers, restart and plug the Blackhog back in. B: A faulty USB A-B cable, try another one that is verified to be working (from a printer) and test C: There is a fault with the unit. Contact Blackhog outlining what you've tested and take it from there. Hope this helps
It definitely looks interesting, but it's far too expensive to justify a purchase, especially with low resolution sliders. This unit would cost 236 Euro after VAT, and that's still with shipping excluded. I could get another warthog throttle for that amount of money.
Thank you sir! If you're looking for high res sliders you'd be better with a TM throttle. As I said it's fine for volumes, cowling flaps and radar angle etc., but not throttles or mixtures.
Thank you sir! Initially I was interested, but I won't be covering it for 2 reasons. 1: It appears they are making a Block 1 & 2 combination (possibly with elements of Block 3) ie. A Frankenplane. 2: There is no independently verifiable data out there on the module in the form of 3rd party AF pilot manuals/3rd party nation's test data etc., I don't trust CAC's public data, have serious doubts about the missile data as CAC are trying to sell Block 3 on the international market, and unfortunately there's quite a lot of patriotic propaganda wrapped up in the sparse information available from CAC which makes it completely unreliable. Just to give you a little background on this, I made a series on the M2000C without consulting independently available material and was contacted by several French pilots with solid information that some of the systems were wrong (and the information I supplied as a result of using the 3rd party dev manual), now those systems have been changed by the dev. Since then, if I can't get my hands on the original flight manuals, pilots accounts, and be pretty sure of my information I won't cover the aircraft. At the moment I suspect the JF is a bit of a fantasy plane. Apologies in advance, but unless something detailed in either Mandarin from CAC or in English from the PAF crosses my screen I won't be buying or touching the JF17.
@@Laobi I thought Eagle Dynamics were the ones to issue 3rd party with aircraft licenses. Can these developers make fake jets in DCS? Not good business practise if you ask me.
