According to Dusk and active testing from Rhodes Island, it's not actually the shack that is the gateway into Dusk's paintings. We see her teleport multiple characters into her paintings in the Invitation to Wine event. The actual trigger is technically twofold, observation and connection. The former being observing one of her paintings and the latter coming into contact with something she can use to channel a gateway such as one of her painting creatures touching or going near you (we see this in Invitation to Wine). The former reason is why she does not take requests. People in the past have wanted her to paint them an ideal world for them to live in and she got tired of the "lack of freedom and selfish imagination."
In short, her paintings are the key trigger. Likely for the shack either the door itself or the paintings inside the shack transported Lava and Co. into that painting. Dusk also has the ability to alter people's perception of reality (literally "Who Is Real?") which can affect a person's perception of time and reality which is why Lava and Co. were in the painting longer than they realized before they "woke up" per say.
Overall, it's VERY interesting just how powerful they all are and this is all done without Originium Arts in play
Dusk probably both built _And Painted_ the house. So in technicality, they did observe her 'Painting' and then touched the painted object
@@niaford690 That is a possibility. She has shown to be able to bring things she paints into the real world, or rather, she can paint something and it becomes a real life object. This is why Lava and Co. were able to eat and drink while in the painting and everything felt real. It's crazier to me how her "room" constantly moves throughout the landship to random hallways, rooms, and dead ends and even when interacting with the door you'll walk right through and then "forget" the door was even there to begin with.
It's like that time she painted the Doctor's Office and then fussed at you for being in "her room," when she appeared in your office. Then flipped it and said that this technically means she left her room and therefore you cannot fuss at her about staying locked up in her room all the time.
I just accepted that Nian and all of her siblings are just simply mental and I love 'em all.

For how annoyed Dusk has been shown to be by everything in the most literal sense I think her promotion and trust lines show a more lax and talkative side of her, not annoyed by whatever is happening.
Or maybe Im just in high copium because I love her design and personality
The only thing i know is that when you entered Dusk painting is that you always prepared yourself with :
- A Kettle
- 3x Instant Noodles
- A bottle of water
- A sanity potion
These requirements are what you'll needed during your journey at finding a safe spot to rest
Just curious. In the event Invitation to Wine, Dusk also transported everyone into that backroom when she, Ling and Nian confronted the Sui-Xiang. So I think there's another way of putting people in to that backroom aside from physically entering that shack.
I figure she can just paint an entrance.
I am so glad I managed to get all three dragon sisters on the ling banner.
Their lore is so facinating, and the way they are tied into the history and future of Yan is amazing.

I calculated the probabilitities beforehand. It was a ~40% chance of getting two (different) dragon sisters in 300 pulls. So it was lucky, but not exceptionally lucky^^
I also got them all. Nian on the 300ty pull and sparked my girl Dusk, the reason i started playing the game, and i could not feel happier. I could pull no 6* for the next many months and i would be fine. But i got Ifrit not even a day ago and im over the moon. This game hated me less than 2 months ago and my luck turned around after the Sui Sisters all came home.
Coincidence? I think not.
I think the bit about dusk's personality is a bit wrong, she's much like Nian enamored with the world and the people living within it, that's why she helps them. She may be an introvert who prefers staying alone (probably caused by the fact that she's terrified of the Sui and her not knowing when she might spontaneously turn into nothing), but she does love the world, and so she paints the world as she sees it, and helps the people whom she finds in need of help.

Dusk really liked me for some reason, she was one of my least expensive six star P6 units. Perhaps it's like Fate and we are just cut from the same cloth. Haha.
She has been clutch on a lot of missions, but moreso in the ones with the infected bears that split into smaller blobs.
See really liked me too, the bitch. I wanted the doggo, I got a Pot 6 Dusk (and one Nian) in less then 300 pulls and then a pity pup.

Honestly I think actual mythology revealed Dusk`s reasons for acting like this.
Neet goddess of painting is an allmighty being that lived to see many generations come and pass. Her touch for the arts also denotes a more sensible person. It`s safe to say that she actually feels sad after watching so much struggle and pain that normal people endure. She is an actual caring soul. As for the shut-in part...I think she might also be afraid of one day getting hurt. We know gods in the world of Arknights are not immortal and since we know from Nian the end goal of her and her siblings our little Dusk might have to face many adversities and losses as well.
Unlike other omnipotent beings (or similar entities) we met in the Arknights world she`s...much likes us.
Also obligatory joke here: maybes she too is an anti-social freak that can`t afford to go outside cause she spends too much money on gacha.
I felt it could be that. She can actually be a caring person who likes hanging out with people, she is just very afraid of experiencing the pain of loss over and over again (in addition to not being able to sleep for millennias due to nightmares of seeing the Sui). So she became a shut-in and distanced herself from people to spare herself the pain

Is it an npc created by Dusk based on the real one, who is dead by that time. Or did she took dying Dawn from her death bed and placed her into the painted world so that she lives on?
