    Love that Daisy 35!!!
A few weeks ago, I took out a few beach balls and inflatables in an open field (about 30-yards away) with a Daisy 35. The price on this gun isn’t bad, either.

I really like the Daisy 35 too. It has plenty of power and shoots BB's really straight, I can easily hit soda cans or bottles at 25 yards no problem! Very fun.

Thank you for another great video with these “old” model air guns. I watch all your videos but the Crosman 760 holds a special place as this is the first one my dad gave me (I still have it and it shoots, with a rebuild of course) from a little less than 50 years ago (I’m 57 now). Like many, my toys have become more expensive but I still enjoy shooting the inexpensive, no-frills air guns the most. Thank you Sir!

@@WalnutandSteel I'd say that's a good bet. 🤣 There are some guys that post in the Daisy gate on GTA that really know how to squeeze all the performance and accuracy out of smoothbores. I always shoot BBs between 2 and 4 pumps based on their advice.

I have 3 Daisy 35s. One for me, one for my wife and a 3rd that a stuck a rifled 880 barrel in. To me they look cleaner and feel more solid than the 760.

Just curious. Did you have to crown the 880 barrel after you cut it to fit the model 35? I am thinking about doing the same upgrade to my model 35.

@@MSHAIL2 I didn't cut my barrel. I left it long and used a Buck-Rail adapter and moderator to hide the extra length.

Both fantastic guns, good shooters. Be nice to have the old school look on the 760, but im old so. 😂 I will say my new 760 outshoots from a power standpoint my older 760's. Daisy 35 is just an absolute joy to shoot. Nice comparison Nibs!!

@-n-6969 Daisy 35 a simple design, easy to pump and easier to work on if needed in my opinion. At the end of the day they are 30 to $40 air rifles. They work and pop a nice punch. If I had to choose Id say the Daisy 35 would be my choice.

The Daisy model 35 is a really great smooth bore. I have one and shooting offhand it takes down small drink bottles at 25 yards easily. The trick is feeling out the trigger; there's a slight first stage, then after that it's a crisp let off. Also trigger timing while shooting off hand must be good, then it's a very accurate BB/Pellet gun. I've never had any luck shooting it from a rest for some reason, shoots best standing, off hand, like any other smooth bore BB gun. Works great for rodent control around here too, plenty of power.

love the budget pumpers! crosman linkages have more slop than the daisy's, they need a lot of lube. check out the difference in group size and POI with 5 pumps vs. 10.901 vs. 1100 is another good match up. airgunning is a great educational tool my grandsons are learning to measure , calculate averages , and graph trajectory's . and it's just plain fun.

I like that the 760's seem to be easier to load pellets in the breach, and they are also very easy to load up with bb's. The problem that i found is that they break very easily where the buttstock meets the reciever. The kids have broken a couple just from pumping them up by bracing the buttstock. Even one of the replacements from crosman arrived from shipping broken in the same spot. I wish crosman would fix that weak spot. Maybe some fiberglass reinforced nylon would work better than their cheap plastic. Because of that, I have a daisy 35 in the mail. I found that the smooth bore crosman 760 is far more accurate with bb's compared to my daisy 880 with rifled barrel

Excellent upload!!! I have the Daisy 35 and a Crossman Legacy 1000 and have been culling rats that have been hammering our chicken feed. Having great success from about 10 yards with 10 pumps (Crossman), using precision Daisy (zinc coated steel) BBs. Just purchased Hornady BD as folks say they they have high accuracy potential. Yesterday I dusted off the Daisy 35 and got it sighted in. Seems to shoot very well itself, though I want to do a comparison similar to this. I like that I could use either with pellets for squirrel hunts, but for rats the BB's seem plenty potent. I was almost going to pick up a Daisy 499B, but not sure if 240 fps is enough knock down power for a larger rat (larger than a chipmunk but smaller than a grey squirrel). Anyone have thoughts on this? Otherwise, I enjoy how easy the Daisy is to pump (and carrying it up to my shooting perch is very light!) but perhaps the Crossman is a touch more accurate? Need to do a series of tests. Anyone have experience with more accurate BB smooth bore pump rifles that they would recommend?

Interesting 21 yard windless indoor range. Ideal for testing a rifle or, like now, a rifle duel with you always as the winner. I hope that you will eventually be able to add the Daisy 901 to your impressive collection. After asking O.T.S.A his preference Daisy 901 or 880, I bought the 901 as he suggested. I'm really impressed. For some fun, plinking and possibly some small pesting in a small garden, this is certainly not a bad buy. Ultimately unnecessary, but I know that I will also buy the famous 880 to see which of the two is the best. To reduce the clacking noise while pumping, I attached a round piece of felt under the pump arm. A much more pleasant and negligible sound now.

@@WalnutandSteel The old 2100's are good, especially the much older 766, which is the same but came before the 2100. The new ones aren't that great, had one, threw it away after a couple of years, just too cheap now (loose barrel, very flimsy plastics). My favorite is my old 766, much easier to pump, more accurate, same power, quality build, robust plastics.
