Hi Nibs! just so you know Gamo/Daisy has discontinued its whole line of Winchester air rifles. With that Gamo has leased a new pumper to arrive in August 2024. The NEW Gamo Vapor 10x is an upgraded 1977XS with 1200 FPS in .177, up from 1000 FPS, and the addition of a generation one 10x magazine. if you search Gamo Vapor10x, you will find the January 2024 release statements! it looks really nice!
I looked at there site and I don’t see anything on it, but I do see it on a few forum sites
Good episode
I think the legacy 1000 is rated at 12 pumps.
Correct
The manual on the crosman website say maximum of 8 pumps
@@WalnutandSteel I was looking at the P.A. website info yesterday for the Regular legacy 1000. It said 3-12 pumps. Ok I didn't look at any Manual?😂
I'm pretty sure mine said 12 pumps also
@WalnutandSteel
Nibbs, I think that level of performance is roughly normal for the Legacy 1000; as OTSA mentioned, they put the old style metal pump parts in rhe Legacy and plastic in the new 2100 for some reason...
Either way, this powerplant doesn't have the chops, at least in stock form, to make Crosman's fps claims...
Additionally, my 2100 and Legacy both retain air after pumping up to the higher pumps (8-10) similar to the Benjamin Sheridan models, which makes them much harder to pump if you don't dryfire the gun after taking a full power shot ...
Speaking of the Legacy 1000, did you know it was originally the name of an American-assembled springer that Crosman briefly made around 2004-2006 with largely Spanish parts under the Benjamin Sheridan brand? There was much excitement when Crosman announced the project, but they really dropped the ball on production quality...🔥😭👎They then contracted with Xisico to make them a version of their B19, which became the Quest, and later Vantage and Optimus models too I believe...
Hope you and your family are well this holiday season Nibbs...take care 🙂👍
Great idea, Nibs! It would have been great if you included the earlier 760 and may be a dragonfly. Oh, and just for grins, maybe you could include a single pump for comparison.
I was trying to keep it to just the more modern stuff. Mainly because most of my old ones have been rebuilt and may not be doing as good as hey once might have. I don’t have a dragon fly yet but I intend to get one soon maybe 2!😂
i wish they still had the PowerMaster 66.
I got this one from a local gun shop still sealed from the factory, they still have another one I may need to grab that one too!
Thank you for another entertaining video. Your head to head challenges are great. As I’ve written on your posts before, I love the Crosman 760 for sentimental reasons but watching the “Dueling Pump Guns” was informative and interesting to me. Thank you Sir!
You didn't pump the legacy 12 times I counted only 10 should try again. Buddy love you videos
Hey Nibs!
Howdy Hank!
Mr. W&S, you need to get a Seneca Dragonfly Mk2, no competition! It's a beast and accurate!!! I love my Dragonfly!
I do intend to get one eventually. But the intention here was to compare all the sub 100 dollar guns I have
You can pump the 1000 up to 12 times get more power
Great shootout Nibs. I really enjoy watching you do these. You don't need the bowflex for your arms, lol. You've got the pumpers for that! I think you should send in that Crossman for warranty. Have a great thursday. 😊
Between the pumpers and the hand pump for the PCP’s I am just about set!😂
Nibs I think your legacy 1000 is fine. Mine pushes 7.9 grain hollowpoint pellets to 698 fps at 10 pumps.
I know I have had a couple instances where the alloy pellets were actually slower than the meisterkugeln’s maybe this is one
Great Job! Really enjoyed that. Hope you do the same with your the other air guns and pistols in your collection. Yes the Legacy 1000 is rated at 12 pumps but i doubt it will get close to 1000 fps.
The manual for the 1000 actually says only 8 pumps
Online it says" synthetic design dares you to pump it up to 12 times for full power, delivering alloy pellets up to 1,000 FPS, lead pellets up to 750 FPS and BBs up to a blazing 800 FPS."@@WalnutandSteel
😢 but, but, but, I like Daisys.
I do too! They were both solid performers! Just not the absolute fastest
@WalnutandSteel I have a chrony but seldom use it. Sometimes we get too absorbed with speed. Your critiques are good at comparing accuracy also.
Russ
I often wondered if the FPS is affected by atmospheric air pressure/ density. If so, the only true test would be in a climate controlled laboratory.
oh yeah Elevation and barometric pressure definately makes a good bit of difference.
I don't own a chrono to do this kind of testing
They claim the speed and recommend 10 (or so) pumps but do they claim the speed AT that many pumps? The owner of Achemy Airworks assured me that they are capable of 20 or more (although there is a limit to how much it increases speed). My guess; this is behind some claimes.
Nice little demo, you gonna do the same with the multi pump and single pump pistols?
Now which has the best accuracy?
Thats for another day!
my grandpa has two of these crosman 766 and refuses to give me one even tho one of them is broke and i can fix it he still wont give me it i think its a crosman 766 but its older gun for sure
If I remember correctly, my 880 beat the Legacy in a penatration test. Couldn't tell if one was faster than the other and the Legacy just had an energy dump and the 880 went further with less speed? Shooting water bottles!
Nothing to do with the which gun, all has to do with what type/weight pellet and the velocity
@@aakashk530 same pellet!
@@chrislang5659 then the 880 must be pushing it out faster , no other way for it to out penetrate the legacy. The 880 packs a little punch especially with a few mods
Do you use your Bowflex?
Every morning
Do the suppressors on some of them help or hurt velocity?
In the ones I have checked it didn’t affect velocity
Fortunately, Gamo does not make pumpers itself. You can never achieve the specified Fps value with their break barrel air rifles.
I've had 7 out of 11 Gamo brake barrels bad right out of the box ! So I'm done buying Gamo junk !!
Just sent back an Diana Air so even the big guys have there faults I guess ? Have 4 Gamo's all work perfect and didn't 800.00 for them ( just saying ) . Also sent back my first Dragonfly MK 2 , but the second one is awesome so far.
Did you paint that red dot?
No I found it on amazon like that!
@@WalnutandSteel ooh i might get one!!
No matter what brand or kind of airgun pumper ' brake barrel or PCP you buy they all inflate the fps on them !
