I very much liked ur Lego and audiobook video. It’s something new that hasn’t been done before as far as I’ve seen anyway so maybe it takes ppl time to pick up on it. New style but neat to watch. 😊

Agree with the NYBR books, I’d love a whole collection of them!
Hoping to get to Butchers Crossing this year, it’s sitting on my shelves whispering ‘read me’ on a daily basis.

Evan was the first book person I followed on any socials. He's the reason I started reading for fun. Looking forward to the pod with both of you guys!
I'm glad you're liking DCC. I'm almost through book 4 and as the series continues it stays wild and fun but you also get more of those deep character moments as well as a wider plot. Check out the audiobook if you haven't done so already! I personally think it alone adds a star to whatever my rating of each book would've been.

For dungeon crawler carl there are 7 books in the series right now but you can only get paperback for 7 as the hardcovers are being released right now. Book 1-3 hardcover are out. Book 4-6 come out march April may I believe. I think the ebook versions for all 7 are out and audibook 7 is coming soon.
It is an amazing series and helped spark me to read again. I'm half way through book 4 right now and can't wait for more

"Owls of the Eastern Ice" has to be one of the greatest titles ever! I feel like it ought to be the title of a novel, even though it isn't. I received my copy of "Stoner" recently and look forward to reading it! 2 of my 3 go-to booktubers recommended it, you and Callosum. I hope that your kids feel better soon!

The unbearable lightness of being is a great book! I would recommend reading a bit about the history of the 60s Czech (former Czechoslovakia) especially the Prague Spring as the book deals with the aftermath of the events. Knowing the historical background, and that Kundera went into exile in France himself, sometime in the 70s, makes the reading experience so much better 😊

I don't usually comment on anything, but I wanted to chime in that I think the lego video was neat, it was relaxing and fun to watch you build something and discuss the book, maybe it helps that I've read Demon Copperhead so I understood the comments you were making. I'm sorry the video didn't do as well but if you did another in that style I'd for sure watch!

Hey Nick, just letting you know I recently ordered Stoner due to how much you rave about it. I'm looking forward to reading it. Also, not sure if you've ever mentioned this book but I also recently ordered The Savage Detectives by Roberto Bolaño. It sounds like it might be your bag.
P.S. - thanks for all you do. I stumbled upon Booktube looking for SF book recommendations. Once I decided to branch out into different genres I stumbled upon this channel and haven't looked back. Take care and I hope your kids get better soon.

Your uncle sounds cool. Love it when there's people who know eachothers likes and you can trade books. Happy bday to Lindsay. I'm Lindsay too, so many Lindsay's in Southern Ontario of our age! I'm in London 🇨🇦 and used to go to Hamilton alot as a teenager. When we got to the escarpment my boyfriend would sing a line something like..down the mountain down the mountain down the mountain..BANK BANK BANK! I know wtf. Your Lego vid was different. I think it's great trying new things with booktube, I get bored of Hauls, TBRs, wrap ups...... repeat. Good on you for thinking out the box

Butcher's Crossing was great. Such an in-depth exploration of what it means to be a man, including the dangerous hubris of Manifest Destiny. His descriptions of thirst, cold, and claustrophobia are gripping.
I read Williams work in a different order than you. BC>Augustus>NbtN>Stoner. I saved the best for last, for sure.

i remember feeling like i was always the one fading into the background while others stood out effortlessly. it was frustrating and made me doubt myself a lot. then i came across this book, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it showed me things i’d never even considered. it’s not just a self-help book; it’s like a guide to understanding your own energy and using it to connect with people. if you’ve ever felt like you’re not seen, this book might change everything.

i remember this one time i felt like no matter what i did, people just didn’t notice me. i tried everything-confidence boosters, social tips, you name it-but nothing seemed to work. then i found this book, Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it completely shifted how i saw myself. it’s not just about being noticed; it’s about understanding the energy you project. honestly, this book made all the difference for me. if you’ve ever felt invisible, you need to read it.

i used to think being magnetic was just about looks or confidence, but i couldn’t have been more wrong. i read this book called Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, and it totally changed my perspective. it breaks down the energy and mindset behind true attraction in a way that just makes sense. once i started applying what it taught, i noticed people reacting to me differently almost instantly. it’s seriously worth a read.
