Correction thanks to @bmsuter comment below. 10% and max of $500 for insulation in 2022. 2023 says 30% and max of $1,200 for a combination of windows, doors, insulation, etc. It resets every year until 2034.
Unfortunately, the only materials I know of that may qualify are insulation materials listed at www.energystar.gov/about/federal_tax_credits/insulation
Not sure where you came up with 10% and max of $500 for insulation. I read the entire credit and it says 30% and max of $1,200 for a combination of windows, doors, insulation, etc. It resets every year until 2034.
My apologies, you are correct - the $500 is 2022 only and gets better for 2023. Here is where I got the 2022 information from. Thanks for the correction. www.energystar.gov/about/federal_tax_credits/federal_tax_credit_archives/2022_tax_credit_information

When do you anticipate the crawlspace encapsulation DIY guide will be released? 2:00
Sorry, we are working on it I am hoping the 2nd quarter of 2023.
Would you consider the materials used to encapsulate a crawl space to be eligible for this tax credit? Thanks for all of your informative videos.
