Side note, get a 6ft black PVC tube that is just big enough to slide your cross bar in, take the stress off the weight. I do that for mine, works great and costs $4 !
Favorite side is usually my first question. I sometimes ask them to show me their favorite photo they have on their phone, like a selfie and start with a similar pose from that photo and work my way from there.

Question, if you have a back hair light, why light the background? Wouldn’t the BG light do the same?
