Hi to you both! Another phenomenal trip!! 🤩🤩🤩 We live vicariously through your amazing videos of your climbs up all the Abels - we will never be able to visit these lofty peaks other than through your eyes! My husband and I are enraptured with Tasmania and on our trips we amaze at the breathtaking mountains! 😍😍😍 I so admire you two and your climbing companions! You are truly heroes of the mountains!! 🤩🤩🤩 Thank you for your awesome videos of your adventures!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Great account, guys. Thanks so much for putting this together. Probably the best account of The Notch I've seen on UA-cam. (...and probably a good reminder to NOT go at it solo on round 1 😅)

Thanks Oliver! Yeah I know a few people who’ve done the full circuit trail running solo with a suitability light 2-3kg pack and had no issues getting up The Notch. But if you’ve got ~20kg on your back, it can definitely be a challenge!

What a great vid, that looked tough but fun.

Definitely not a simple ‘walk in the park’ (though the last leg of the walk is less climby/rocky) but the views make it all worthwhile.

Thanks Bec! Yep we’re keen to get out there again to climb Lots Wife too! And Schnells Ridge and Gallaghers Plateau. I really want to do a ski trip over Mt Eliza this winter too. Hopefully we get some big blasts of snow!

About time, good stuff! We really enjoyed the Mount Anne circuit earlier this year. A fantastic hike for sure. I am unsure if others feel the same, but I found the ridge prior to the Notch more difficult than the Notch itself.

Agreed… there are some genuinely awkward bits to negotiate before you even get to The Notch. The wet rock and lack of visibility didn’t help either, in our case.

Am I dreaming, a new Bender and Xing video?!
Great video though in all seriousness. We had virtually identical conditions on the summit of Mt Lot, although did get more views than you in between there and Shelf Camp. And we also used the same tent platform as you guys haha.

I've waited a year for this clip....done well to the both of you and your group, I'm still not keen on that notch part, how badly exposed is it out of a rating of 10? It's awesome views love that area, thanks for sharing stay safe love from Hobart 👍😎🍻🥾💪

It’s actually not that exposed, in terms of walking/climbing right next to sheer drops. The most exposed part is immediately after The Notch itself along the western side of Mt Lot. The drop down from the western/Eve Peak side is well contained in the gully, just got to be aware of the loose rocks. The saddle itself is ok, again just got to be careful if you put your packs down they don’t go rolling off. The steep rocky climb on the Mt Lot side is the tricky bit, one of the more awkward climbs we’ve come across and definitely harder if you’re not tall. But not particularly airy as such, you’re only 4-5m in the air. That’s enough for many people, of course, but it isn’t anything like the climb up Mt Anne itself.

@@benderandxing great info thanks...as a person who doesn't like heights I'm just hoping not to have a freak fall or accident out there....I hate exposed parts or scrambling with a heavy pack on....when I did the sentinal range there is a exposed part and I shat myself being that high when there is a ledge I'm fine, but exposed parts I shit myself.....🤣🤣🤣 Think I'll do the complete circuit as I've been to the hut up.eliza side and to lake judd on the other....not real keen on going up scrambling and climbing but lol 😂
