It isn't heated grips, windshields, mega-watt digital sound, 'theme' bikes, paying someone else to change your oil, etc. It's about the road, the bike and YOU. Most of today's 'bikers', riding around with shorts and sandals, riding maybe 2k per season ???????

This opening scene is the best! If you haven't done what Walter does here then you're not an Enthusiast (the name of the magazine). Walter is "biked up", and would have kept riding if he could have.

Danielmeir probably because Harley Davidson sucks, maybe in their early days it was good and innovative but today it sucks. The bloody company can’t stay up without being subsidized by the government. I would focus on Indian Motorcycles if I had to pick between the two. Of course there is a larger fan basis with Harley, so if the goal is to keep a show going then Harley will probably pan out better.

All I stated was how other motor companies have gone under only to be bought out or ask for financing from others. I only respond to your original comment because you came out strong bashing a company for wrong doings, maybe in the future point out all companies that have done the same. Anyways doesn't matter a bike is a bike. I personally have 4 bobbers built by my own hands. For the simple fact I enjoy building bikes and not having being associated with the "brand" scene.
I see Harley's everywhere rarely I see a scout if I have ever seen one on the road.

Harley if they chose to innovate could accomplish great things and that's coming from someone who owns an Iron 883. The original founders, in this modern era, I feel would be fueled to continue innovating and pushing the envelope where as now they just keep selling highway cruisers for $35k
The 883 sells for about 10 grand brand new today. About the same as a new dirt bike.

I think Discovery produced this series to help boost slumping H-D sales. But I watched some of it and could see where the politically correct drama would have the opposite effect on Harley sales.

How many "Harley" family members are still associated with the name brand? I'd love to know what happened with them all. Obviously the "Davidson" side is still alive and thriving which is great but you NEVER hear anything about the "Harley" family members? And to think that he was the Engineer of the whole dang motorcycle!
That’s sort of thing happens a lot though, Look at Ken Miles in the Ford GT. Or Bill finger who really created Batman. Or the McDonald’s brothers who created the entire system and iconic look of the nationally recognized restaurant. True genius is not always affiliated with great business sense.
@@h2w25 yes sir, I recently completed my research on this topic. There are no Harley families associated with the Mo-Co anymore. The only Davidsons are Michael, Bill and Karen. Bill has a daughter and Michael is an artist who has no association whatsoever with the Mo-Co at all. Bottom line when Bill and Michael die there will be no more Davidsons in the company. Sadly Michael, Bill nor Karen never had a "Boy" to carry on the name.
