I think taxi drivers earn their money in India driving around all day or night in polluted and congested traffic .
The petrol in India is not cheap and the taxi needs maintenance .
Most taxi rides in India , I have taken , have only cost me a few dollars on average and I always give the driver a tip .
When I was in Tokyo , the train I was in going to the airport had to stop because of a death on the train track , I had to get a taxi and the taxi fare was almost $300 and the distance was not too far .
Recently in Denmark , I got a taxi for a very short quick trip not much more than 5 minutes and the fare was $60 .
I have noticed western travellers who travel to places like India grumble about paying small taxi fares yet in their own countries , the taxi fares are very high .
In places like Germany and London , the taxi fares are very high .
At the Sydney airport , the taxi driver who appeared to be a new resident to Australia tried to rip me off by charging me $50 to take me a very short distance to a Sydney airport hotel which was only about 2 minutes away by not using the regulated taxi meter which shows the correct fare .

@Ajay Vidyadhar hey bro, I did see him make faces and trust me he makes faces irrespective of whether its a third or first world flight. He makes good faces when he is happy and bad faces when he is not. Its a free world and feelings are subjective, like how you found him making faces unpleasant, he found goairs service in general unpleasant. Also check his whole catalogue please, he has held accountable shoddy service irrespective of the country so its not fair to simply bracket him as a third world hating reviewer. You look at his career and you see the fellow is genuine
I did see the bit with the taxi driver but in all honesty more often than not if we see that the person isnt local we tend to rip them off unless ofcourse its a price regulated system like prebooked cabs or something. But that being said, granted he should have done his homework because its his job to review. So instead of assuming he should have checked it beforehand before simply accusing the cab driver.

Being an Indian, I can understand this approach to safety. Here safety is the last concern as in a way there are too many Indians around and human life is not that valuable. 2 years ago I was on a Qatar flight and had the bulk head window seat. The 2 spaces next to me were taken by what looked like Doha nationals as they had the long robes on. They covered the floor in front of them with bags and and junk (literally what looked like crisp packets and food items).
When I wanted to leave to use the toilet I had to lean against the wall and gently step in between their items which wasn’t easy as they just watched me and made no effort to move them.
When It came to night they put their chairs back and put their feet out and also covered themselves in a blanket.
Now when I needed to leave for the toilet, I had feet to avoid, plus it was dark and the blanket covered all the stuff in the footwell, I was so annoyed I just stepped on it all and whatever I stood on probably got crushed.
I didn’t even think of it as being a safety issue at the time, just considered it rude and unthoughtful that they would block me in like that.

Earlier i.e. in the 70's & 80's it used to be Saudi, Kuwaiti & Emirati folks doing all sorts of nonsense on the their respective airline's. They would flirt with female passengers sitting next to them, annoy the crew - esp. females, demand alcohol, & do as though they are the airline owners.
And, if you & I would object, we would get a mouthful & face the ire when the aircraft land at these A Gulf airports. Now, these Qatari's will flex their muscle, coz they know, the Qatar Gov. will take 'care' of them & bail them out whenever they get into trouble.

The little things do matter especially with safety as they may be representative of an overall culture and attitude towards safety that extends upwards towards 'bigger' things than bags on seats ?
It makes you wonder what other safety corners they may be cutting that you DON'T see?
Accidents in aviation are nearly always the accumulation of many small errors, small corner cutting or small mistakes that build up into a bigger chain of causation

When I was in India , I booked a domestic airline ticket at the airport official booking office for the airline , I told the customer officer 3 times where I wanted to go and when the ticket was issued after paying by bank card , it had the wrong city on the ticket and the airline booking officer refused in a rude manner to refund the money .
It appears that the airline never went to the city that I requested the ticket to travel to .
After about a month or more , my bank got the money back from the airline but the money should have been refunded immediately when a mistake was made .
While most bookings go to plan in a friendly manner in India , it has taught me a lesson to write the destination down on paper instead of providing it through speaking only .

I have travelled many European countries where the taxi driver wouldn’t even bother to give a helping hand for a luggage bag! Curious that a video about safety begins with a ride on what are arguably the most dangerous vehicles in the universe. Another curiosity about life in general is that there are people would never dare consider discussing the price of an exorbitantly expensive bottle of wine at a "high scale" restaurant but who will hammer down prices of things like taxi fares and t-shirts prices with people who are barely scraping by. For those doing international travel and visit the markets... respectfully suggested you occasionally pay the asking price thus bringing joy and a little bit extra to their lives.

The worst thing is that the agent keeps talking to them instead of discouraging them. Once inside the plane, I was asked by other passengers to go sit somewhere else because their partner has a seat next to mine. By the way the flight is only 1 hour duration. I politely told hem to buzzz off... My story is for another airline but the same chaos !!

This is quite different from what I experienced in November, 2019. It was from Guwahati to Bagdogra.
As the flight path was right next to the Himalayan mountain range and a clear November sky, I tried to take as many photos as possible through the window with my camera.
I literally went from front to the last, and came back, half a dozen time. Cabin crew was always there with a smile, not even complaining a bit. The flight was quite empty and I was roaming around different seats like a kid to get a clear view, from my lenses.
At one time the flight encountered some minor turbulences, so I strapped in a vacant seat and informed the cabin crew to please secure my hefty camera bag with something, as it was initially left unattended.
To my delight, they picked up the heavy bag and delivered it to me. Even when I’m siting at a different seat 💺, with a huge smile. I seriously have much appreciation for that cabin crew as my opinion they delivered first class service with a smile, even in a budget airliner.

"Think I've been terribly ripped off... deal of a lifetime.. Only me problem losing much money... I can drive to Delhi for 200 rs.. always fun getting ripped off in India, isn't it?"
It's always good to first understand ground reality before you pass snide comments against someone who is simply trying to make a living.
    1. The price of petrol (gasoline) in Mumbai is Rs.110/litre, more than what you offered to pay him initially. And considering that Mumbai to Delhi is 1,415 km, you won't even manage driving anywhere near that distance with Rs.200.
    2. The distance to Terminal 1 is roughly 5 km and depending on the fuel efficiency of the car, that's almost a litre of petrol.. and cab fares usually include parking charges as well. So, your 200 is no where near to being a rip off. If anyone was ripped off here, it is the taxi guy. If everyone bargained him for 100 or 150, he'd barely make anything for himself.
    3. As for your "losing much money" part, Rs.200 is around $2.6. Much money, huh?
    4. Bet that an Uber ride would have cost you close to Rs.300. So much for being ripped off.

I assumed the cabin crew will ask him to switch it off, but she just ignored him and guy was taking on phone till the plane took off and he lost his signal. Secondly, few mins after takeoff when the seatbeat sign was turn off my copassrnger noticed that she had he seatbeat off the entire time and the crew didn't notice it during the before takeoff check. Also I noticed one of the seats in my row was reclined during takeoff but again it went unnoticed throughout the flight.
Although the flight itself was quite comfortable but it was quite apparent that safety was not given proper attention.

Thanks for Sharing.. “Go First” is indeed the wrost Airlines in India. I am happy to see your flight was scheduled. In my case they canceled the flight and gave me the notification 23hrs before departure. “Go First” should be banned. I would rather like to a connecting flight than taking a direct flight of Go First.. indeed a shameful airlines

Wow Josh not only did you pay extra to be dumped with someone's luggage. You paid for the privilege of holding on to it as well!
Next time fly economy you never know someone might as to sit on your lap🤣
Joking aside thankyou as always for putting yourself through this so we don't have to
