- On today's video, I try out and review the new Huda Beauty Pastel Obsessions Palettes and put them into action with a Pastel Eye Makeup Tutorial. Also with swatches on some of my fave shades from all the Pastel Lilac, Pastel Mint and Pastel Rose palettes!

You are the only mua who understood the vibe of these palettes: they're pastels, you have to do a soft look, not the usual cut crease/dark outer corners/gradients on the lid. You are so delicate instaed ❤ thanx a lot!

Me, this was recommended to me before Jackie's video but I had it in my watch list.
Jackie gave such a great opinion on pastels. They are MEANT to be chalky and ashy that's why they are pastels. There are some skintones that look more coherent with ashy colours and some that look more coherent in warm darker smokier colours. Warm toned people can rock a cool toned look BUT it WILL wash them out. Cool toned people can rock a warm smokey look but it will wash them out. People with darker skintone will rock neons easier than lighter ones, and lighter skintones will rock ashy ass pastels easier. Not better, easier. But everyone can rock any look and aesthetic with the right techniques. I saw a woman with extremely dark skin tone, close to black, who was extremely cool toned and she looked soooo much "better" with lilac cool toned colours than a light skinned woman with extremely warm undertones. That's how it is and it's not bad.
The Huda palettes don't have dark purple/red/green shades bc pastel looks aren't meant to have a deeper smokier outer edge. The darker lilac in the palette wasn't to make smokey purple looks but it was a light pastel lilac that can work for poc. And it looked GORGEOUS on Jackie. That's the aesthetic of the pastel palettes. It had an extremely light lilac for us mayo ghosts, a slightly darker pastel lilac for medium skinned ppl and a darker lilac/ light purple for poc. But all of them were meant for pastel looks it's called PASTEL PALETTE. Same with neons, they will look more bomb and intense on darker skintone without meaning us milks can't rock them, I know I can and I very often do. I don't like Huda, but everything she comes out with gets unnecessary hate from the sheep hate train.

*The Morphe Icy Fantasy has more colors and costs as much as this small one here. What I've seen, it works waaay better.

The mint one was horrible/ Heaps of fallout , would not build. glitter everywhere from the shimmers. The texture was either chalky or greasy. Reminded me very much of the play makeup I used to purchase for my kids in the 90's.

I really wanted to get these but I was hesitant because I’m Olive toned and pastel just don’t show up on my which suck and watching this I’m definitely Not going to. Yes pastel is light and soft but I’m sure there are better pallets out there which are a bit more pigmented.
