Yunobo is actually so good. He can ram into large hordes of monsters which will knock them over allowing you to hit them easier. Also since he is the sage of fire, when you roll him over grass in an open field he will light a long path of grass on fire which is very useful for movement.
He's also a free cannon on any vehicle, and when you use him like that, be bypasses the cooldown, and collects the drops of anything you kill with him.
@@Megatime-ly5ih Yunobo is useful out of combat, which is the scenario the sages are easiest to use in. He is also useful as a cannon if you want one on a Zonai device, but don't want to waste more battery.
Fun fact: Despite not being able to damage rock walls without a specific arm attachment, Mineru's regular arms can still be used to break ore veins in one hit, which means she's great for mining.
I use Mineru for Zonaite mining because while you can use Yunobo or Riju, the wide-open spaces and tall cliffs in the Depths mean that Zonaite blown up by them can take longer to reach than you'd like or simply fall down a cliff you don't want to go down, whereas Mineru lets you just smash and grab the ore as quickly as Link can normally mine it using tools Also, fun coincidence (or maybe intended) that her name has "miner" in it, and she's good at mining 🤔

Also when I go to the depths I have lynel set to sensor + and when in the sky islands I have sundelions set, I cook either 3-4 with a golden apple, you can usually find golden apples all over the place but sometimes in the applen woods just to the right on your map of lookout landing I sometimes go home with 8-12 golden apples. Always ensures a critical cook. Absolutely putting Tulin at the bottom cause he will inconveniently walk into my path and activate when I’m just trying to collect **THE GODDAMN DROPPED MATERIALS**
@@skunkdog42 i disable all of them except for yunobo and tulin for traversal. Tulin can blow me on my paraglider. (PAUSE) and yunobo can set grass on fire making an airstream to glide across
I think it should be that when near breakable rocks or when facing them, yunobo is given a button prompt When in extreme heat or when blocking, Sidon gets a prompt When aiming a bow Riju should get a prompt And for Mineru she is fine as is, it makes sense that you have to go up to her Tulin is fine because he already has the prompt
There is a more convenient sage ability that you should use instead of using Riju or Yunobo’s sage power Use Prince Sidon’s ability Swing the weapon to the ore deposit (Don’t you hit the ore deposit using the weapon but aim at a distance and use it And it will break) Its more useful and more convenient Than using Both Riju and Yunobo’s powers just to destroy an ore deposit While Yunobo and Riju will make the ores scatter, Sidon’s ability will just drop them Like how you use a hammer to it
Mineru is amazing for fighting, just equip a flame emitter on one side and a air balloon on the other. Why the balloon, you ask? The balloon can do some insane knock back.
Ive also found that using shock emitters on Mineru is very useful. She always seems to target the enemy closest to Link in my experience, so being able to have her shock them into dropping their weapons and open them up for easy kills is always nice
But she can also freeze you sometimes lol. She’s only good for duping items without wasting shields from shield jumping. That makes her invaluable to the team.
@@wavydavxd Honestly Peck Minerus ability, the construct fight can be done in a minute if you didn't care about the gloom floor or had gloom curing meals because its damage output with anything is horendus. At the end stage of the game I am running into Black and Silver Enemys on a regular basis and nothing she has outputs enough damage. If i were able to attach Zonite weapons to perhaps ANY weapon I had on hand to her she wouldn't be a slow moving brick. Only salvation is the fact i can still shoot with a bow while on her back.
@@Luigi_Main3752 Mineru has good combat exploits against Lynels as dismounting her is a easy bow bullet time. She can also guard against their attacks meaning you can bait a attack, dismount, get head shots, and save weapon sharpness or quick kill with Royal Guard weapons near breaking with molduga jaw attachment and bone proficiency. Also good for breaking ore.
@@docblack59 I'm intrigued to hear about these exploits against lynals but I can think of better ways to mine ores. The Master Sword does enough for me unfused. That or I go beat up a Flux Construct 3 for fun. Bullet time is nice though but if your in the depths late game your probably using that bike construct at that stage which is already high up in the air.
My list: 1. Fire Sage (best utility/unlimited bombs + ranged attack) 2. Wind Sage (would be my number one but i sometimes accidentally active it blowing items away so second place for me) 3. Water sage (the shield is pretty op against stronger hitting bosses and the attack boost is also really good) 4. Thunder sage (actually a really cool ability, but activation takes too long) 5. Mineru (really doesn't have anything going for it except walking over gloom which is useless later on in the game)
This Toasty guy thinks Yunobo’s powers are the best of the five sages..... Your “fact” about Riju from long activation is compensated by her awful thunderbolt that can do more damage and more enemies in one shot And in Mineru...idk about her but her power is still cool
mine would probably be 5. yunobo, his rock breaking ability is cool but once you get mineru she does it better, otherwise it's just a low damage ranged attack and fire application 4. riju, she'd be great if she has a quick cast button while aiming your bow or something, but now you have to chase her in combat which makes her ability very inconvenient to use 3. sidon, he has the same problem as riju, but he lets you use zora weapons for huge damage anywhere and his shield is nice if you manage to catch up to him 2. mineru, she's super versatile with the ability to traverse gloom, break ore deposits with base hands, break bombable walls with rock hands, use any element emitter, use weapons for more damage, and give you a way to fight with no durability lost if you pilot her. 1. Tulin, uncontested, you use his ability anytime it's available while gliding because it's just so convenient, and his headshots are the most useful basic attacks of all the sages (except maybe mineru if she has the right attachments)
I think the sages I've used the least is Riju and Yunobo, then comes Mineru and Sidon, and Tulin I've used the most. Sidon was amazing for exploring the underground
look im going to call something out that a lot of people don't mention so every other ablitys fighters are melie but tulin can be clutch with the bow. for example lyonal is about to kill you and tulin snipe and you get free damage on it back. i just think tulins ability to headshot makes him miles better than the other ablitys
The thing with Riju is that by the time you often get her, you are already good enough in combat to make it easy without her ability. I almost never used her after I finished the lighting temple
Mineru 1 because mineru can float glide have a jetpack op weapons and can be something to jump off to bullet time a frox I forgot about elemental abilities
Yeah but you can literally make a zoni device that has 20x the fire power of mineru or if you need to get high up use the flying bike and if you need to Glide then use the glider Long story short mineru is useless
Fun fact, if you want an infinite Yunobo with no cooldown, just place a seeking cart, then activate it and stand on it. When you’re “riding” a Zonai contraption Yunobo has no cooldown so you can use his ability as much as you want, making him excellent for decimating huge groups of monsters by repeatedly throwing him at them. And since the seeking cart will perpetually go toward monsters you don’t even have to guide the device
Vow of sidon also doubles the attack power of mipha's spear so u find myself using him a lot, 154 damage without drawbacks is hard to match especially when i love using spears
I got Tulin first and yelled at him through my TV the whole quest because I though he was useless. Then I got everyone else and apologized to Tulin because he definitely one of the most useful.
I agree, Tulin is useful. I noticed several problems with the other sages: You can accidentally activate Yunobo when picking bomb flowers, resulting him blowing them up. During the queen gibdo fight, you have to chase Riju so that you can stun the boss. Riju, you don’t need to be up close if your attacks involve projectiles. If you are fighting Lynels, make sure Mineru isn’t nearby else your mount will be overridden by Mineru instead of getting on the back of a lynel.
Why the hell people liked Yunobo more than Riju or Sidon Except for his use in Vehicles Everything he can do Other sages can do too Updrafts Use Riju’s thunderbolt Dps Riju is more speedy Or Tulin’s insane headshots
Tulin would've been first place for me anyway. Saw the guy and immediately was proud of what the little fletchling became 😭and then what we did? Top tier companion
Imo, Yunobo/Tulin works great for a little speed boost because you can activate Yunobo in some grass and create an updraft effect then use Tulin to glide forward
I see a lot of people overlooking Tulin's combat potential. Random headshots on lynels are really nice because it's one of the best ways to get great bows and tons of arrows. His glide ability is also really consistant, unlike how Riju runs at mobs and does no damage.
1: Mineru, for good utility and versatility especially for mining zonai in the depths, hunting animals, or enabling combos for combat through frost emitters, cannons or flame emitters. 2: Yunobo, for good utility when mining large deposits of ore, breaking rocks in caves for free and picking off low health enemies. Provides free updrafts in grassy areas as well which is useful with Tulin and for getting quick bullet times. Being able to be used on vehicles is also handy for molduga fights and the explosion allows for getting enemies off you if you're getting swarmed too. 3: Tulin, who provides very good combo potential with Yunobo, ice weapons and mineru. Being able to cancel your paraglider then reactive it in midair to go faster makes his draft ability very good for aerial traversal and being able to headshot enemies makes him extremely useful for lynels, hinoxs and frox. 4: Sidon the watershield is good for the desert or volcano allowing to cool off and the water attack can be used to clear large groups of weak enemies if you're good at aiming it. The bubble shield is especially useful for dealing with flame gleocks especially during the final phase and for cheesing the lynels explosion especially if you're in a bad position. Also being able to trigger water warrior on Zora weapons at any time allows for some high damage setups especially. 5: Riju, the lightning strike provides decent utility for clearing up weaker enemies however is a bit too slow to be useful for long range engagements and I find it doesn't do too much damage to warrant the setup. The lightning aura also provides good utility in the depths for highlighting your surroundings and being able to shock enemies before an engagement also allows for some cheeky weapon stealing before getting out of dodge.
I feel like people over estimate mineru almost anything mineru can do can be replaced by a other champ/zoni device, and the zoni device can still do it 10x better. You need to do tons of damage? Strap 10 beam emitters to a homing cart and head. Need to mine? Use yunobo. Need to hunt? Don't use mineru he's too slow instead use a bow, like a normal person I can kinda get using mineru for bullet time but that's one of the only things he's good for. I get that you were ranking it based off of versatility but just because it can do 10 different things dosen't mean it's good Edit: and yunobo can create an updraft so yunobo is better at bullet time as well
.......The Hell Guys...... Ok I understand Mineru but wtf YUNOBO?? IS SECOND??? AND RIJU IS 5th?!?!?! Are you out of your damn mind??? Also Riju can make fire using her thunder to create updrafts dummy Also in real life, thunderstorms makes forest fires
Mineru may be slow and a little hilariously floppy, but she is quite versatile. You can fuse-equip her with damn near everything, from Zonai devices to weapons to just rocks-if you give her a cannon she will shoot it in combat even when you aren’t piloting her. She’s very handy for mining as her bare hands can break ore deposits; I used to make sure I always had some sort of hammer-like weapon in BOTW and now I don’t have to!
Tulin is the best character and the best sage. He doesn’t have the issue of walking up to him when you need to use his ability, he’s small and doesn’t get in the way, he’s useful for exploration and I don’t really need to use any sage abilities in combat anyway (also with five of them it gets crowded), and he scores sick headshots for you I usually keep all of them disabled and just use only tulin
Vow of Yunobo is great for early game hunting. When you don't have a lot of hearts. You can get roasted bird drumsticks and seared steaks to replenish you hearts quickly.
FIRST! also i would rank sidon maybe second and riju third as sidon is great for the lightscale and zora spear effect, because it can power it for around a minute and has fire resistance, heat resistance, ect.
@@wavydavxd yeah a youtuber taught me it, i mostly use it with molduga jaw and the bone weap prof. set bonus aswell has mighty simmered fruit for 300 damage while wet
Sidon’s ability also makes you wet which allows the water warrior buff to proc, which doesn’t really help much if you aren’t using Zora gear/lightscale trident
Champion Abilities > Sages Mineru is her own thing so she is more so like “oh that’s a cool mechanic” that you can live without but still find use. In combat though she’s sluggish. Yunobo VS Darude Shield is better and had the AOE field of damage. The shield is quick and fluid in combat and you have to be careful when to use it as you only have 3 charges per combat until it comes back Sidon Vs Mipha The revive vs the shield, heat protection, and AOE, honestly revive is way better. You have to walk towards Sidon to even activate the ability and if you have all the sages on, it’ll get confusing. The shield isn’t fluid and Darude’s shield is far superior than Sidon’s water shield. You gain electricity weakness, and it’s just clunky Rizu Vs Urbosa Again, Urbosa was just more fluid in combat and it was a huge AOE.Rizu only working with arrows and you have to be near her makes it way too much if a distraction in combat. BoTW combat was more fluid than in ToTK. Tulin vs Revali This one is actually kind of. Tie. On one hand, Revali’s gale made it easier to gain height and get into the air very fluidly even in combat. You gained distance in flying and it was very easy to use. On the other hand Tula’s wind gust gets you farther and it’s actually the most fluid ability out of all the sages. His Arrows are the most useful for those headshots. Revali’s gale works For BoTW’d world and Tula’s works for ToTK but both are very good
the sage abilities are all meant to be substantially weaker than Champion abilities if you're just comparing one use of the ability. The difference is that sage abilities can easily be spammed and arent tied to a long ass countdown timer that makes you never want to use them.
THIS IS JUST MY OPINION! I’m curious to see how you would rank these abilities. Also I am aware that I forgot to mention Zelda. I’d place her above Sidon below Riju. And I’m sorry for being so harsh to Mineru, she’s actually pretty good.
Mine is vow of tulin (since I don’t paraglide much), vow of yunobo (very useful when you don’t have any hammers and when I need to fly sjnce the fire creates wind vow of Sidon since I find myself accidentally using this more than I tend to use it then vow of riju since she is very useful for attacks and quickly helping out and finially how of mineroh (I just know I didn’t spell that right) she is very useful when I need to use anything tbh good fighter and if you have lots of batteries can use for a while great for combat since I find myself fighting mostly but that’s mine
Mine is sidon last: i just dont use him, 4th yunobo:good for updraft but like needs more damage, 3rd mineru: like good mech fast with fan but useless for low battery 2nd Tulin: ok ok sorry but good combat in base attack but like i dont use ability a lot so 2nd and 1st ryu: Good attack, ability but STOP RUNNING AWAY
For me is 5. Sidon (I didn't even used it at all for the water temple boss, was faster and easier with chuchu's jelly lol) 4. Mineru (I just use it for some underground exploring) 3. Tulin (yeah, useful for flying and that, but I barely use it) 2. Riju (I love her, can attack and paralyze various enemies at once and also it covers a lot of space) 1. Yunobo (not wasting bombs or weapons)
Sidon is really bad on his own, but if you get the lightscale trident and attach a silver lynel horn to it, you can use sidons ability to become wet any time which makes the weapon do a whopping 154 damage per hit
The Rito's ability is always the most goated because they allow for faster travel and exploration which is obviously necessary in a game like totk or botw. I would literally die without them. Just a shame all the abilities got nerfed so dang hard.
Agreed with this ranking. Sidon feels underrated considering it pairs with the lightscale trident to make a (potentially) 150+ damage spear for a decent chunk of time. I'd put him above Riju considering she's got a long-range ability but is a melee fighter, so she's never close by when you need her.
@@TheGoodOutOfHell It maybe sometimes but many of those headshots make it count Like when I’m fighting a hoard of Black Bokoblins and while I’m fighting the boss A Black Bokoblin is gonna hit you and Tulin shot that bokoblin like he is John Wick and practically saved your life So this maybe “sometimes” but Tulin makes them count
@@TheGoodOutOfHell it usually happens once every Lynel fight for me, unless I kill them in some op fast way. Also great against skeletons because I hate wasting durability on such weak enemies
Mineru is underrated. You can use her to break zonite rocks if you don't have anything or just wanna do it fast because she hits multiple at once with just her arm and nothing fused to it. Really good when you fight bosses because you can just get on her and to immediately press b to get off and then x to jump and you can go to bullet time. Use it on lynels all the time and gleeoks. And after you beat froxs there's big patches of zonite rocks that you can hit multiple with her.
For the dlc if they are doing a sage one, these are my ideas for them! Tulin: able to blow gusts of wind up or any direction Yunobo: no idea prob a bigger blast area Riju: able to direct lightning shocks from items to enemy’s Sidon: water bubble lasts longer and has a bigger range That’s all my ideas but feel free to give yours!
Sidon's ability actually doubles the damage of Zoro weapons and bows. In other words, he can help create the hoghest known damage of a weapon. So, he's #1.
I will never forgive Mineru for walking into my path when I was trying to mount a Lynel during the coliseum battle for Majora’s Mask. She’s my girl and all, she walked through lava lakes for me, she took me over pools of gloom. But making it take two different button presses to exit Mineru is so bad.
Fun fact mineru will attack enemies like the others including when you have fused things to the mech's hands so it is the only sage who can do elemental damage as well as attack. Other than teba's headshot abilities, Mineru is the most effective sage outside of ability.
It should be added that Sidon synergizes with Zora weapons. Zora weapons double in damage when they've wet. You don't have to be near water or wait for rain. Just activate the shield. The effect stays for a bit even after the first hit.
My ideas for how to easily activate the sage abilities: Tulin: keep as is Yunobo: Hold R then you get a prompt Sidon: Hold ZL then you get a prompt Riju: Hold ZR then you get a prompt Mineru: keep as is
Sidon : - protects you from a hit from ANYTHING (Lynel as well as Keeses) - can be spammed if you get the improved Vow (bubble disappear as soon as the coolodown is done) - water blade can ragdoll several ennemies if used properly (two-handed weapon) - protects you from heat AND extreme heat (protection lasts more than the bubble, Link is still wet after the bubble is gone) - OP strats with Zora weapons (water-enhanced) I'll probably update this list when I find out about all the applications it has, same when I get all of the other Sages (I'm definitely not biased by Sidon's awesomeness and perfect musculature) (Sorry for awkward wording, English isn't my mother tongue)
Yunobo can also be used to make updrafts on grass! Yunobo & Sidon & Riju are all good for breaking the shell so you don’t have to waste your own resources on that
Mineru’s mobility can be changed by attaching various things like Wings (allows gliding), Fans (runs faster), and Rockets (big jump). I find myself using a rocket to get up to higher places as it doesn’t use up shield durability.
The one reason why Sidon is my favorite/most used is because of this set up. First get a molduga jaw and a light scale trident. Fuse them and if you are wet (sidons) ability it will double the damage. Then wear the Ganon outfit that deals extra for bone weapons, eat attack up three and then do a flurry rush. It is not the most damage dealt in one hit let me make that clear but if you are fighting any boss this will deal the most damage over all. (Holy shit I just read that over and has a stroke)
i may be biased because i love yunobo, but his ability is actually really good. you can attack a horde of enemies with him while setting stuff on fire at the same time. you can break rocks (obviously). when mining for ore, sometimes you don't wanna use your weapons and wear down their durability, so that's where yunobo's ability comes in. he can bewak boxes, too. (only con for that is that it burns arrows and roasts materials.) on top of that, if you ever need a quick draft in the grass but you dont have any pinecones on hand, just throw yunobo at a patch of grass and bam you've got a (admittedky short-lived) draft. oh, he can also roast or bake any materials. conclusion? yunobo best boy.
Another use for Yunobo that I use sometimes is using him on grass which creates an updraft from the flame (makeshift Revali’s Gale) and using Tulin afterwards for a horizontal boost.
The vow of mineru can actually be quite handy if you equip it right. For example, you could equip it with cannons to bombard the ennemies from afar. Or stick rocket to it'd arms to use like a rocket launcher. My favorite setup tho would have to be with double electric devices so mineru can act as a walking taser, Allowing me to either steal my oppnement's weapons, Or just attack during the opening my now disarmed opponements. So she's very versatile if you are creative enough.
Its Yunobo Tulin Sidon Riju Mineru Yunobo is good for hunting and mining rocks as well as combat You can use his flames to burn grass to fly up and he instantly cooks food if he kills animals Super useful when your out of arrows
Yuonobo’s fire roll is easily my favorite one. Clears rocks, lights things on fire, instakills ice enemies, instacooks animals you launch him at, and is overall an easy bit of bonus damage in a fight. I keep him and tulin locked on at all times.
While I agree with most points, id put Sidon at second place and Riju in third. When you use sidons ability, it also causes you to be wet which will trigger water warrior on zora weapons, making for a readily useable double power on the weapon itself as well as any material you attach to it. Using a lightscale trident or a zora sword with a silver lynel part and then triggering water warrior will make the weapon be able to hit harder than Rijus lightning strike and it can hit more times before you dry up.
Did you know that the champions divine beasts helmet makes the sages have the helmet on them. For example if you have the goron divine beast helm then junobo will have it on.

I can understand that frustration lmao
If you’re duping disable him or in other situations

I think it should be that when near breakable rocks or when facing them, yunobo is given a button prompt
When in extreme heat or when blocking, Sidon gets a prompt
When aiming a bow Riju should get a prompt
And for Mineru she is fine as is, it makes sense that you have to go up to her

Fun fact: you can use Riju's ability to break rocks as well. This is particularly useful while in caves that are stuffed full with rocks.
There is a more convenient sage ability that you should use instead of using Riju or Yunobo’s sage power
Use Prince Sidon’s ability
Swing the weapon to the ore deposit
(Don’t you hit the ore deposit using the weapon but aim at a distance and use it
And it will break)
Its more useful and more convenient
Than using Both Riju and Yunobo’s powers just to destroy an ore deposit
While Yunobo and Riju will make the ores scatter, Sidon’s ability will just drop them
Like how you use a hammer to it
Mineru is better to farm ore
Fun fact: while exploring dark areas, Riju's highlighted area makes it possible to see without using any glow armor, elixir or seed.
You can use yunobo on grass for a Walmart revali's gale
You can also fuse a rocket to your shield for a Dollar Tree Revali’s Gale

Same with riju
Mineru is amazing for fighting, just equip a flame emitter on one side and a air balloon on the other. Why the balloon, you ask? The balloon can do some insane knock back.
Ive also found that using shock emitters on Mineru is very useful. She always seems to target the enemy closest to Link in my experience, so being able to have her shock them into dropping their weapons and open them up for easy kills is always nice
Frost emitter is even better 5 times damage is insane
But she can also freeze you sometimes lol. She’s only good for duping items without wasting shields from shield jumping. That makes her invaluable to the team.
Frost is the best
@@TOTKBOTWoh she has froze me shocked me and set me on fire
Mineru is extremely op for farming because it one hits all ores and you don't need to spend anything
I like to use yunobos ability during combat and hitting enemies with it, it knocks them over and sets them ablaze
Also makes updrafts on grass to enter Flurry Rush with Bows easily, I'd rank it above Sidon personally.
I also realized not to long ago that it can help out with armored enemies which feels like it should’ve been obvious to me.
@@wavydavxd
Honestly Peck Minerus ability, the construct fight can be done in a minute if you didn't care about the gloom floor or had gloom curing meals because its damage output with anything is horendus.
@@docblack59
I'm intrigued to hear about these exploits against lynals but I can think of better ways to mine ores. The Master Sword does enough for me unfused. That or I go beat up a Flux Construct 3 for fun.
Bullet time is nice though but if your in the depths late game your probably using that bike construct at that stage which is already high up in the air.
Riju's targeting field can be used as a sort of radar in dark or smoky/cloudy areas.
yep
Yep, i used it in the depts
My list:
1. Fire Sage (best utility/unlimited bombs + ranged attack)
2. Wind Sage (would be my number one but i sometimes accidentally active it blowing items away so second place for me)
3. Water sage (the shield is pretty op against stronger hitting bosses and the attack boost is also really good)
4. Thunder sage (actually a really cool ability, but activation takes too long)
5. Mineru (really doesn't have anything going for it except walking over gloom which is useless later on in the game)
girlie have yall tried putting a fan or rocket to minerus backpart? she literally goes so fast yall just dont tinker with her
This Toasty guy thinks Yunobo’s powers are the best of the five sages.....
Your “fact” about Riju from long activation is compensated by her awful thunderbolt that can do more damage and more enemies in one shot
And in Mineru...idk about her but her power is still cool
Tulin is literally the goat as well as those headshots
Proof the Rito are the best birbs
I’ve put in more hours into TOTK and this list needs a few adjustments. Should I redo this list?
Yeah
no
Yes
YES
And head shots along with gust its awesome all around !❤
mine would probably be
5. yunobo, his rock breaking ability is cool but once you get mineru she does it better, otherwise it's just a low damage ranged attack and fire application
4. riju, she'd be great if she has a quick cast button while aiming your bow or something, but now you have to chase her in combat which makes her ability very inconvenient to use
3. sidon, he has the same problem as riju, but he lets you use zora weapons for huge damage anywhere and his shield is nice if you manage to catch up to him
2. mineru, she's super versatile with the ability to traverse gloom, break ore deposits with base hands, break bombable walls with rock hands, use any element emitter, use weapons for more damage, and give you a way to fight with no durability lost if you pilot her.
1. Tulin, uncontested, you use his ability anytime it's available while gliding because it's just so convenient, and his headshots are the most useful basic attacks of all the sages (except maybe mineru if she has the right attachments)
Valid
Whistle to call them over, makes it easier to activate abilities
@@TheDeadOfNight37 I have never seen whistling actually work on sages. I can spam the button as much as I want but they just run away from me more.

@@TheDeadOfNight37 yeah I think it’s supposed to be a feature, but I’ve never seen it work in combat and only a few times while exploring.

look im going to call something out that a lot of people don't mention so every other ablitys fighters are melie but tulin can be clutch with the bow. for example lyonal is about to kill you and tulin snipe and you get free damage on it back. i just think tulins ability to headshot makes him miles better than the other ablitys
Yeah but you can literally make a zoni device that has 20x the fire power of mineru or if you need to get high up use the flying bike and if you need to Glide then use the glider
Long story short mineru is useless
Vow of mineru and Tulin should be at the top together because if you use the ice thing with mineru you use Tulin to push them into water
I got Tulin first and yelled at him through my TV the whole quest because I though he was useless. Then I got everyone else and apologized to Tulin because he definitely one of the most useful.
I agree, Tulin is useful. I noticed several problems with the other sages:
You can accidentally activate Yunobo when picking bomb flowers, resulting him blowing them up.
1. Tulin
2. Yunobo
3. Riju
4. Sidon
5. Mineru
Why the hell people liked Yunobo more than Riju or Sidon
Except for his use in Vehicles
Everything he can do
Other sages can do too
Updrafts
Use Riju’s thunderbolt
Dps
Riju is more speedy
Or Tulin’s insane headshots
i think the fact that people have such vast and different orders is proof that this is a pretty well balanced system
Everyone plays differently as well
They should make Riju's ability activate by pressing A during a bow draw and Sidon's ability activate on parry.
That would be so much easier than chasing them down
Tulin would've been first place for me anyway.
I get that you were ranking it based off of versatility but just because it can do 10 different things dosen't mean it's good
Edit: and yunobo can create an updraft so yunobo is better at bullet time as well
.......The Hell Guys......
Ok I understand Mineru but wtf YUNOBO??
IS SECOND???
AND RIJU IS 5th?!?!?!
Are you out of your damn mind???
Also Riju can make fire using her thunder to create updrafts dummy
Also in real life, thunderstorms makes forest fires
Mineru may be slow and a little hilariously floppy, but she is quite versatile. You can fuse-equip her with damn near everything, from Zonai devices to weapons to just rocks-if you give her a cannon she will shoot it in combat even when you aren’t piloting her. She’s very handy for mining as her bare hands can break ore deposits; I used to make sure I always had some sort of hammer-like weapon in BOTW and now I don’t have to!
I would rank Sidon higher. Riju’s vow should’ve have had an attack power similar to urbosa when you use her ability. But Tulin is always first place
Tulin is the best character and the best sage. He doesn’t have the issue of walking up to him when you need to use his ability, he’s small and doesn’t get in the way, he’s useful for exploration and I don’t really need to use any sage abilities in combat anyway (also with five of them it gets crowded), and he scores sick headshots for you
I usually keep all of them disabled and just use only tulin
If you press B+X while using Tulin, you go a bit faster
Vow of Yunobo is great for early game hunting. When you don't have a lot of hearts. You can get roasted bird drumsticks and seared steaks to replenish you hearts quickly.
I use yunobo’s abilities in combat, works great for thinning out the weaker enemies when it comes to the patrols and encampments
Tulips gust can make frozen enemies slide away.
Mineru is high up on my list because 1. Mechs are so cool link can ride a robot now yippee! 2. You can attach silver lynel saber horns to his hands
I rarely ride it cause of the insane hit box I feel like you should have higher defense when riding it your in a mech should you take less damage
Switch sidon and yunubo and its a W list
I recently learned (from a meme video actually) that if you repeatedly open and close your glider while using Tulin’s ability, you get more distance!
Yeah it’s super useful!
I use Mineru's ability to jump off the mech and trigger bullet time to fight lynals and stuff
Yeah i forgot to mention that! Mineru is great for bullet time
Tulin himself is also useful un late game because he can stun lynels surprisingly more often than you expect him to
yunobo can be used as inf cannon and it also has chance at one shotting gibdus in a group
Sidon can get a 22 attack sphere up to 44+ 2x item fuse + any buffs from aumor
That i can agree
But other claims that yunobo is better than Tulin or Riju is fake like how fake their lives are

Sidon’s ability also makes you wet which allows the water warrior buff to proc, which doesn’t really help much if you aren’t using Zora gear/lightscale trident
Champion Abilities > Sages
Mineru is her own thing so she is more so like “oh that’s a cool mechanic” that you can live without but still find use. In combat though she’s sluggish.
Yunobo VS Darude
Shield is better and had the AOE field of damage. The shield is quick and fluid in combat and you have to be careful when to use it as you only have 3 charges per combat until it comes back
Sidon Vs Mipha
The revive vs the shield, heat protection, and AOE, honestly revive is way better. You have to walk towards Sidon to even activate the ability and if you have all the sages on, it’ll get confusing. The shield isn’t fluid and Darude’s shield is far superior than Sidon’s water shield. You gain electricity weakness, and it’s just clunky
Rizu Vs Urbosa
Again, Urbosa was just more fluid in combat and it was a huge AOE.Rizu only working with arrows and you have to be near her makes it way too much if a distraction in combat. BoTW combat was more fluid than in ToTK.
Tulin vs Revali
This one is actually kind of.
The reason i love sages more is because they actually fight with you and makes it more fun defeating enemy camps
@@Mamma1999 thats actually a valid point that I can agree with. Plus they are optional to have on

For me is
5. Sidon (I didn't even used it at all for the water temple boss, was faster and easier with chuchu's jelly lol)
4. Mineru (I just use it for some underground exploring)
3. Tulin (yeah, useful for flying and that, but I barely use it)
2. Riju (I love her, can attack and paralyze various enemies at once and also it covers a lot of space)
I’d rank them the exact same as how you did.

Agreed with this ranking. Sidon feels underrated considering it pairs with the lightscale trident to make a (potentially) 150+ damage spear for a decent chunk of time. I'd put him above Riju considering she's got a long-range ability but is a melee fighter, so she's never close by when you need her.

Tulin: able to blow gusts of wind up or any direction
Yunobo: no idea prob a bigger blast area
Riju: able to direct lightning shocks from items to enemy’s
Sidon: water bubble lasts longer and has a bigger range
That’s all my ideas but feel free to give yours!
I wish I could fit all the information into one minute lol
Mineru and Tulin are the best for combat with Mineru being able to equip weapons and Tulin hitting headshots to stun enemies for you.
My ideas for how to easily activate the sage abilities:
Tulin: keep as is
Yunobo: Hold R then you get a prompt
Sidon: Hold ZL then you get a prompt
Riju: Hold ZR then you get a prompt
Mineru: keep as is
Sidon : - protects you from a hit from ANYTHING (Lynel as well as Keeses)
- can be spammed if you get the improved Vow (bubble disappear as soon as the coolodown is done)
- water blade can ragdoll several ennemies if used properly (two-handed weapon)
- protects you from heat AND extreme heat (protection lasts more than the bubble, Link is still wet after the bubble is gone)
- OP strats with Zora weapons (water-enhanced)
I'll probably update this list when I find out about all the applications it has, same when I get all of the other Sages (I'm definitely not biased by Sidon's awesomeness and perfect musculature)
(Sorry for awkward wording, English isn't my mother tongue)
I wish I could everything the sage abilities do into one minute. Maybe I should make it into a video lol
Mineru found its only use against gleeoks because you can mount and jump off it for bullet time
Yunobo can also be used to make updrafts on grass! Yunobo & Sidon & Riju are all good for breaking the shell so you don’t have to waste your own resources on that
Mineru is so useful for getting through quicksand and mud
the riots were the regional phenomena i went to first, so after i got the vow of tulin, i had a high standard for the rest of the sages.
Mineru’s mobility can be changed by attaching various things like Wings (allows gliding), Fans (runs faster), and Rockets (big jump). I find myself using a rocket to get up to higher places as it doesn’t use up shield durability.
She’s very versatile
The one reason why Sidon is my favorite/most used is because of this set up. First get a molduga jaw and a light scale trident. Fuse them and if you are wet (sidons) ability it will double the damage. Then wear the Ganon outfit that deals extra for bone weapons, eat attack up three and then do a flurry rush. It is not the most damage dealt in one hit let me make that clear but if you are fighting any boss this will deal the most damage over all. (Holy shit I just read that over and has a stroke)
I almost has a stroke too lol. Jokes aside thanks for the tip!
i may be biased because i love yunobo, but his ability is actually really good. you can attack a horde of enemies with him while setting stuff on fire at the same time. you can break rocks (obviously). when mining for ore, sometimes you don't wanna use your weapons and wear down their durability, so that's where yunobo's ability comes in. he can bewak boxes, too.
Steps to get around easy
1. Get an updraft
2. Use tulins ability in the up draft
3. Spam paraglider
4. Profit
0.9 use younobu to get updraft or smth
The vow of mineru can actually be quite handy if you equip it right.
For example, you could equip it with cannons to bombard the ennemies from afar.
Or stick rocket to it'd arms to use like a rocket launcher.
My favorite setup tho would have to be with double electric devices so mineru can act as a walking taser,
Allowing me to either steal my oppnement's weapons,
Or just attack during the opening my now disarmed opponements.
So she's very versatile if you are creative enough.
I was a bit too harsh on her lol
Sages are never there when you need them and always there when you don’t.
I ranked them the same. Tulin is probably the best. A lot of ppl agree. Even the arrow head shots from him help somewhat too
Tulin is the only one that is remotely useful for me personally because all the other sages run away from me right as i need their abilities
Sidon runs away from me every time like I'm the plague.
Yunobo can also knock heavy enemies into water, break rock armor and burn off hinox shin guards.
vow of tulin is my least used ability id always rather make a flying machine than paraglide
Its
Yunobo
Tulin
Sidon
Riju
Mineru
Yunobo is good for hunting and mining rocks as well as combat
You can use his flames to burn grass to fly up and he instantly cooks food if he kills animals
Super useful when your out of arrows
Yuonobo’s fire roll is easily my favorite one. Clears rocks, lights things on fire, instakills ice enemies, instacooks animals you launch him at, and is overall an easy bit of bonus damage in a fight. I keep him and tulin locked on at all times.
I use the Roll abilty to start a fire in more grassy areas during combat so I can get a row of bullet-time
While I agree with most points, id put Sidon at second place and Riju in third.
Fun fact: using the sage of fires ability on grassy terrain to creates an upwards draft
Did you know that the champions divine beasts helmet makes the sages have the helmet on them. For example if you have the goron divine beast helm then junobo will have it on.
Yeah it’s pretty cool :)
