Curious on your thoughts for this product. I am liking it overall so far. Not having a surface skimmer on the top of the inflow seems to allow a lot more detritus to flow through from the water column and into the prefilter which is great. I will say the skimmer on the outflow is quite finicky though. I think I have it properly set now but it took a lot of guess work to get it dialed in. I also like the flow reliever circle thing (I believe that's the proper term 😂). I like that it sends a bit of my inline CO2 out the back to hit my plants in the back corner while sending most of the flow outward to the rest of the tank (I am using just one of the clip in attachments on the back side with the front part of the circle open). Also the pipes are incredibly easy to clean which is another bonus.
To be honest at first I wasn't sold on them, I bought the smaller set for my shallow tank and found it really tricky to get the skimmer right, to the point took it off, but I really liked the idea of the neo mixer so I thought I'd give it a try on my big tank as the in tank diffuser nd high flow from the lilly pipes I had was causing some bba on foreground plants which were mainly slow growing epiphytes, so with this I've aimed it at the back stems and it's firing the co2 at them, so hopefully it works, If it does might even do a video on all that actually 😅🤔
You can just tell it's a high quality item by the way everything is packed and presented . This is the only way every CO2 pipework should come , especially if it is glass. If I am scared of anything it's breaking glass, I am not sure what you want to call it , most likely it's the fear of having to get stitches & knowing how much damage you can do to your hand from a mistake ? So I must have been traumatized when I was little just about to pet the neighbors dog when his teeth bit my upper lip and I just have been avoiding Doctors and Dogs ever since LOL ....think it would be a great idea to order a set immediately 😀.....on second thought I better get 2 sets JIC
I think its definitely a rational fear! I'm sure I've seen on social media a guy who cut his hand on a glass pipe and did so serious damage! I used to hate cleaning mine for that very reason, ugh the thiight off glass slicing into the palm kf your hand 😱 so yeah the neo flows are certainly a good option in that case!
Hows ur Co2 checker? Does it turn green? I am wondering if the co2 is spread across the tank equally with the neo mixer. Because usually if we were using a co2 diffuser, we are taught to place it at the bottom of the opposite of the tank so that the outlet could circulate the water and spread the co2 equally. But in the case of the neo mixer, we are shooting the co2 near the surface. So i am wondering how effective it is.
Good question, I had the same thoughts when I first got it but it, still turned green. Think because it's coming out with the flow the co2 bubbles are dispursed around the tank due to the force of the constant water stream behind it and tbh due to the position of the outlet and co2 diffuser I have less issues with algae because I was finding with the tradition method of a co2 diffuser in the front and a outlet at the opposite side, the co2 was just misting over the plants in the front which were all mainly slow growing epiphytes that didn't need co2 and I was getting BBA, whereas with this it's near the back and hitting the stems which will utilise it. I do have a dead spot on the tank where the stems block the co2 and flow and i still find i get algae there but id say this has been pretty effective.
@@REscapes thank you for the reply. I have LIKE and SUBSCRIBE 😸. Great video by the way. By the way have you tried using the skimmer to aeration plus the neo mixer. Was just wondering if there will be any issue with the co2 turning the co2 drop checker
Hey! do you recommend these lily pipes? Ive decided I don't want glass as I'm sure I'll break them so these look like a good alternative & I prefer the clear look over steel but do they stay nice after being used and cleaned for a long time or do they become foggy and scratched? Thanks!
They become very foggy after a few months, they never have the clarity that glass has, i also find all the attachments became very brittle over time and crack easily, id recommend them more if they were cheaper but given they are quite pricey i wouldnt personally buy them again.
@@REscapes Thank you!! My tank is a 60p with a biomaster filter but I have a betta (short fin) so don't want too strong of a flow. Do you know of any pipes that diffuse the water so my betta won't be pushed around too much?
@@REscapes tysm! how often do you have to remove the glass ones from the tubing to bleach them? what I've seen online says once a month but that sounds like a lot. That's the part that scares me the most with glass, detaching and reattaching. Could I theoretically just use a pipe brush without ever removing them? Appreciate your advice ✌️
@hraz7134 once a month is what i do, any longer they start to look real dirty. I used to dread removing the pipes, i used to be scared id smash them but hinestly its really not that bad, im yet to smash any glass, touch wood! Just be careful not to put pressure on the bends or the top, and just be gentle but firm and its fine, the trick is to push the glass downward into the pipe (which seems counterintuitive) but it breaks the seal and then they just come out pretty easily
Is it just me or is there a side leak on the part where the co2 differe is at? Or am I not putting it together right? Do you guys get the same thing or just me? Please give me your insight. Thanks
I have found over time it gets loose presumably from the pressure of the water and co2 passing by the joint and you have to push it back together quite firmly, but I find the plastic cracks very easily so you have to be careful, and you have to do it whilst the plastic is wet.
Do they crack easily Rach? Still unsure to go chihiros glass with an inline or try these. Wonder if you can use ultrasonic cleaner on these as plastic and detach, to avoid scratching?@@REscapes
@robpearce1673 the pipes themselves are really quite sturdy and dont crack easily but the little elbow joints and inlet things i find are a bit flimsy on the smaller sized set (12/16mm), ive cracked all the joint sttachements literally the day i got them when i was installing them, they say to make sure everythings wet first, but the set for 16/22mm pipe work is definitely stronger than the set for 12/16mm as its all a bit thicker and ive not cracked any of that yet and ive had it over a year
@@REscapes would you buy another set now after a year over say stainless or glass pipes? I’m thinking Chihiros glass looks way cleaner and scratch less still, I just have ocd ignoring the co2 incase it’s off or poisoning at any point, so like to see it. I have 2 tanks to set up but was thinking inline co2 with a visible glass bubble counter on the side like Amano so I can see 😂
@DesignRobPearce tbh i dont know, the thing that i love about them is the co2 diffuser attachment and i think that is a really great idea that works, but the skimmer portion isnt great and ive removed mine, and they get so dirty quickly and they never look crystal clear they are always misty looking. Glass will always be favourite but i cant fit an inline co2 diffuser where the tank and filter is, so this gives me the closest thing to it, so im using it more out of necessity, it is good, i just dont think its as good as glass from an aesthetic point of view
Good video Rachel. May look at this for my shallow. Love your table 😂
Nice unboxing video Rach! 😎👍
Thank you for the video ❤

@hraz7134 if you can get a spin pipe they reduce the flow a lot, i use glass ones which i found cheap on ebay but ive only ever seen them in glass

Hi. just to let you know your new video is set to private, can not watch it. Just a heads up in case it not supposed to be.
Hey Yeah I'm Having some issues with the quality so it will be re uploaded tomorrow 😊
See they also released a lily pipe attachment for the out flow.
Yeah looks good! Its nice that it's easily removable so you can clean it easily
