    You should do a review on DeadFoot Arms. I run there system on my 300BO and am thinking about doing a 5” 9mm.

      I'll add it to the list, but I'm a 1-man show with a small budget. I'll see what I can do!

    Does this work for the CMMG Banshee 9mm?

      I can't be positive, but it's designed for AR platform guns, so I would expect it should. Check with CMMG.

    Can you do a video on buffer travel distance? I’m curious if there are buffers that don’t bottom out on the buffer tube due to a strong spring or is hitting the back of the buffer tube is a good thing? I always thought of the rubber stop as a just in case thing until I ordered the kak kspec to dampen the recoil. It got me thinking why not adjust the spring to stop the buffer just short of bottoming out. My mind can’t wrap around which is better.

      In the 9mm, the buffer will smack the back of the buffer tube. It's perfectly fine. Stronger springs can cause a number of problems and worsen felt recoil.

    You still run the extra weights on top of the hydraulic buffer even with the extra weight of the kak industries plug?

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  7 місяців тому +1

      Yes! I tried to overmass a 9mm AR with a super short barrel and it kept cycling reliably with 37.5oz. (the most I could stuff into it. That's equal to a heavy bolt and 22oz buffer! 9mm simple blowback can handle a lot more mass than people think.

    Will the Sylvan and Law Tactical folders work with KAK Enhanced Buffers?

      Should work just fine!

    What’s the model/ weight of the Wilson combat spring ?

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  4 місяці тому +2

      Wilson changed their spring recently. Mine is the older version that fits around the buffer. The new ones may not fit. Tubb AR-15 carbine flat wire is a good replacement option.

    What do you think of the KM Tactical bolt? Is that a good choice for a system like this? It has a screw you take out to remove the weight.

      I'd need to see more photos, but it looks like it may be OK to me. Can't be sure without seeing the bolt face and the underside, though.

    I'm guessing this system will work with the CMMG RDB 9mm bolt? Can anyone confirm that?

    • @compted10
      @compted10 7 місяців тому +2

      Yes but you won't use all the extra mass and such, you would run it more like a 5.56 rifle.

      You need a hollow adapter so that the plunger can move freely within the bcg

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  7 місяців тому

      @shootlootscoot510 Only if you're using a captured spring system. With a regular buffer system the included adapter will work fine.

    Comment on r/AR9 has kept me thinking...
    Would a default GRS (JRC tube, KynShot buffer, 2 weights, Wilson flat spring) with a LawTac benefit from more weight, ie: KAK Heavy adapter (3.89oz) to replace the internal pinned weight that gets removed from the BCG for the folder?
    Would you consider the buffer tube as slightly longer due to the LawTac? Could this be opportunity to fit a third spacer?
    ie: I have the parts I need for the default GRS, but would there be any improvement from adding an additional 2.5oz, 3.89oz or 6.39oz?

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  7 місяців тому

      With a Law folder, the extra space is taken up by the adapter, so no room for another spacer. A KAK heavy adapter would add 2oz., but over 11-12oz. there seems to be a law of diminishing returns. While addtional weight does help felt recoil, it doesn't seem to have as much of an effect.

      @@Blowback9 good catch on the extra space/adapter. Thanks for pointing out my oversight.
      So. Given your experience-
      a) LawTac adapter+2 spacers in a JRC tube ... (LawTac version of the default GRS)
      b) KAK adapter + 1 spacer in a standard tube ... (essentially moving one spacer into the bolt. Same weight, slightly less distance in the buffer tube, but don't have to change tubes on a completed, cerakote'd build.)
      c) KAK+1 spacer in a JRC tube (same weight, slightly more distance in the tube.)
      d) KAK + 2 spacers in a JRC tube. (Default LawTac GRS but a little heavier.)
      ...I think I wrote those options correctly... ... Point is that while I understand the diminishing returns on a measurement of 'feel', I still see an opportunity to either bring my implementation back inline with the default GRS (there was still weight removed from the bolt greater than what's replaced by the standard LawTac adapter (I think?)
      To be honest, since I already have all the parts (excepting the KAK- a quick 3 second swap), option b) has minimal allure. I'll probably swap the tube and order the KAK just to see (feel) for myself, I guess...

    • @Blowback9
      @Blowback9  7 місяців тому

      @@HandlesAreDumb_111 Looks good, one suggestion though. If you use only 1 spacer in between the buffer and bolt with JRC buffer tube and 4" buffer, move the 2nd spacer to the back of the tube as a spacer only. This will take up the extra space so you don't break a bolt catch on LRBHO.
