enjoyable as usual Phil many thanks!!!!
Excellent video and camera work as usual Phil keep it up bye for now Philip
Thanks, will do!
Some amusing anomalies for a 1940's weekend ! BR designs didn't of course begin appearing until 1951. So BR Standard Class 4, 4-6-0 75069 (built 30/09/55) is a bit before its time. But Bulleid West Country 4-6-2 numbered here as 21C127 "Taw Valley", wasn't rebuilt until 1957 into its current form. It would in 1946 when built, have had an "air smoothed casing" & of course original chain drive type valve gear. And in addition never operated in wartime black with "Southern" on the tender, only in BR liveries. Of course the same applies to the BR Mk1 coaching stock in use here, which also did not appear before 1951 !!!
Veryh good Phil! I remember the Forties!!!!!
Thanks Alan. Not sure if that's good or bad?
Good catch that...not many of them left now.
Thanks. Sadly not!
A Pannier Tank pulling 8 coaches. That’s well ‘ard!
Remind me again how we ended up with 2-car Pacer trains for 30 years?
Progress??
26:51 the loco you can see on the left is 2857 now withdrawn from service
Yes, hopefully back before too long

Great video Phil, this was filmed on my birthday :)
Thanks 👍 . Happy Birthday. Abit late, but hope you had a great day 🎉
What, incidentally, is it with all these numbers that people have acquired after their names now? 🤔
Very annoying! One of UA-cams bright ideas, to improve things?. 😡. Wish the stupid idiots would leave things alone! Some names I don't recognise anymore.
1501 Hawksworth Pannier Tank because isn’t in steam on severn valley railway
@@williamtacey7770 sadly not for the foreseeable future.
I was hoping for a Class 40-themed gala 😕
Sorry to disappoint 😢. That would have been good though.
Let's hope 2857 comes back to life. Nice to see four steamies running although I'm not keen on Taw Valley, who should have been repainted green by now. The sooner she gets an overhaul the better, otherwise she might never run again. I can think of some Southern Steam enthusiasts out there, who would be devastated if she had to be disposed of.
The last time I saw her operating was on the West Somerset on the 29th April this year. Apparently she’s due to be back in the workshop this Autumn, and according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SR_West_Country_class_21C127_Taw_Valley she is expected to be back in action in 2025.
I believe withdrawal for oberhaul is planned for the winter. A complete repaint in green for that short period would have been uneconomic, and understandably they were keen to expunge memories of that horrid lilac
Yes, I like 2857. Great to see 4 in steam. 34027 will certainly look better in green, but no point till she's overhauled
