    The kip up / kick up is a great beginner tricking move. It's a popular move in many martial arts action movies and can be used in our tricking routines or easily get back on our feet when we fall down.
    In this video we go step by step over the technique, gradual progression steps, and exercises for the kip up.

      kip up is easy =D it'll just take time keep trying. it took me 5 months to learn everything about this move

    I am just in the process of learning to do this. At the moment I can get good height from my kick but I am still landing on my back. Glad to know that the bridge exercise and the handstand push ups are in the right direction. I will attempt the backward roll push up to standing tonight to see if that helps. I am reasonably certain that one of my biggest problems is timing. Thanks for the tutorial though - its really helpful.

    Don't forget hip flexibility! That along with your lower back will help you pull this off. Nice video!

      The likely cause is a weak core and/or back. Strengthen those and you should get much better.

      Try waiting a split second just before the kick. If you kick too soon you won’t rotate

    I can do it thanks! I practiced for a week on a mattress then transitioned to ground. It took me 2 weeks to fully master.

      Easiest on trampoline, easy on ground, hard on matress. thats just for me.

      Men obviously generally have a easier time because theyre naturally stronger but "being a girl" should not fucking stop you.
      And what was that with right body type? If youre a "300 pound gym ball" body type then loose some weight first.
      If you mean body type like Ectomorph, Mesomorph or Endomorph then it doesnt really matter. Ive seen people with each do proper parkour.

    This really helped. I tried doing it but couldn't, so i said "eh whatever I can't do one". But then later I came back and tried again and i did it. Your tutorials are very helpful and really narrow everything down so people can get a better understanding of how to do one, and now i can teach my friends :)

    Great tutorial!
    As an instructor this is something I have the most difficulty teaching my students how to do. Only about 20% of them actually are able to pull of this move. I liked that you not only explained the mechanics of the Kip Up but also went into detail on which exercises would be effective to progress and why.

    Very nice tutorial, but I need help on strength. I want to know how to make wrist strong and when stop practicing or when to take rest. When a trained thoroughly for 5 days i started feeling l pain in my wrist which by the way got away after one day rest. Can you tips on exercise routine and tips on developing bone strength ? Thanks

    Good) the only thing I'd like to see here is no hand kip up. Interesting that some of my friends do no hand kip up, but they're bad at the one with hands.

    I’ve been training and trying for years to do a kip up. Doing every tactic in the book and I slam my butt and head on the ground every time. Even with support so I’m doing it from higher up the support is too soft and my hands don’t push me in the slightest
