Just bought my 2022 GT Manual today in Gravity Grey !! Awesome vehicle ! .. Coming from a Honda boy … Owned a 2014 Si , 2000 Integra & Acura RSX .. This Kia fits perfectly
I bought an identical Forte GT 6-speed in Aurora Black on Tuesday, March 29th. And… I paid MSRP and not a penny more (that took some pushing on my part). But I’m really pleased with this car for the price point. It’s very easy-going, fun to toss around, and is really sharp looking. It was the year 2000 when I last spent under $30K for a car, and I have to say this really is $25,780 well-spent. I don’t feel like I cheaped out, not at all. The more time I spend with it the more I like it.
this one and the civic si were my two options, I ended up going with the si since I felt i has more after market support but the forte is still a clean car
The price and HP is great. Due to the Shortage, Civic Si’s are being up charged so it’s more like 3-6k more than MSRP. Might be looking into getting a Kia GT.
Having test driven both, the SI didn’t feel any sportier than the Kia tbh. The SI just leaves you wanting more engine, but in the KIA the capability of the engine better matches the overall capability of the car/chassis. SI interior is cleaner and more pleasing, but both are functional with actual physical buttons for the things that should have buttons. But the Forte GT has more features and overall I think it was a wash. Even at straight MSRP, I’d probably take the Forte GT over the civic SI. The SI isn’t worth a penny over MSRP imo… if you are considering spending 35k plus on a civic, do yourself a favor and get an Elantra N, it feels like a whole performance class (and then some) above the SI.
Yes. I literally traded a 2021 gli base for this exact car. The Kia interior is much nicer and the car is more fun to drive. The GLI is a bit quicker but I just couldn’t get over the cheap feeling the GLI had….
@@chop2093 how does the Kia compare in terms of handling with the GLI ? Also does the Forte have rev matching on the MT ? Lastly, how is the noise level in the Kia cabin compared to the GLI. I have heard the GLI is very quiet and noise free. Thanks !

Hi everyone, I just got my new 22 Forte Gt, but I don't have a ton of experience with manual cars. I'm trying to get smoother at shifting (especially at lower gears) and was wondering around what RPM you tend to shift at in this car. I don't want to damage the car, so I'm kind of nervous to shift at higher RPMs; but I also don't want to be taking off like a grandma lol. Any help or tips would be appreciated!

I just bought a 22 gt myself last week, had to wait an entire month for it, already put 500 miles on it. I believe optimal shift points are between 3k-4k rpms. Im coming from a 6sp 2012 kia forte base model, and immediately noticed that it runs high on rpms. I'm used to doing 80 at 3k rpms, and the 22 runs around 3500 rpms in sport and slightly lower in normal mode, not sure how I like that, but I plan on dumping another 5k or so into modding and tuning it, so I hope to get it running a little lower on the rpms, or not, gonna be a blast either way.
