I look back at all the others bands of this time that were bigger and laugh because DGD just kept putting out just better and better albums even 10yrs later- they’re now basically biggest of this genre and didn’t overly change themselves.
I dunno, I've loved every part of the RWHH saga. Some of Jon's best lyrics as well as those sung by the different frontman at the time. Such a solid band.
this judgement day is tuesday is the reason i always do the important shit on tuesday. like its THE day in the week when i just have to get shit done for real ;D love these guys and u too of course hehe
@TheRoCoco13 wrong. Part 2 was on the Ep Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean. Part 3 was one of the first songs released for the self titled album in 2008. Part 2 and 1/2 is off the new album (which is regression, literally in this case)
I think the lyrics in this album were written after to go with the music cuz the instrumental version of this album is a masterpiece it's q shame it goes unnoticed in the mainstream cuz of label's
I so wish on the new record they had guest vox with Jonny and/or Kurt, whether the same track, two separate tracks, or a together track plus separate tracks. That'd be so grand to have past and present DGD vox together!
@longshelton this album was actually supposed to be called the death star album but due to legal issues they had to go with DGD. they still kept the artwork though

Uh yeah, that's why they're all named "The Robot With Human Hair. I guess you're new to this band. Well, their original clean vocalist was Jonny Craig. He was in 2005-2008 and late 2010-2012. Kurt Travis, the clean singer on this track, replaced him from 2008-2010. Jonny is on TRWHH 1,2, and 2.5. Kurt's on 3, and Tilian Pearson is 4 and "The Death of...". Not sure why they did a 2.5. Go to a concert and ask them. Lol
I am not new to this band. you read my question completely wrong. I asked if there is anything similar between these songs as in meaning or some instrumental part. Not who sang these songs and what year they came out of.
Alright, my bad. Well, from interviews I've seen, unless the songs correlate in someway, they wouldn't be apart of a series. They'd just be their own thing. I don't know how exactly, but yeah, all "parts" share or continue a theme.
they did a 2.5 because it was made with Jonny after pt. 3 was made with Kurt. Jon and Matt said in interviews the title is supposed to be some overarching DGD motif of artificial intelligence, citing all the new "i"-gadgets and whatnot. I know the lyrics in 2 and 2.5 have some relation, but it's probably because Jonny sang on both of those. The songs don't necessarily relate to each other directly, but thematically, I guess. Instrumentally wise, there's no definition on what a "robot" song sounds like. However, Will does state that he wouldn't name songs in a series just for the purpose of the name, but he would name songs that sound like they belong in that series. imo, the robot series instrumentally all seem to be classic DGD sounding songs with a touch of technicality.
Well the music videos seem to say that there is an overarching series. Also there's Death of the Robot with Human Hair and Young Robot, which both have music videos.
Louis Charman I'm completely aware of that, everything else from this album sounds great, just the way they recorded the screams don't sound good to me. Jon's screams on the Ep and DBM sound better than this recording
@ImaginarySam Will Swan has always been the main writer for Dance Gavin, DBM2 would be the same even with Zac, The most writing Zac did was on Death star and that's why it's the best.
@ImaginarySam I have. And I got all my info from Jon mess himself so take it up with him if you don't believe me. And yes, Strawberry girls is better than dgd, not Secret Band.
“Let’s make believe that we’re better off alone” “It’s so funny when you speak of love so fluently you have ruined me” “WHen will this end, when will this fucking end?!?!” 🖤🤘🏼
@RWSThe101 Zac Garren released demos he did for DBM2 before he was kicked out. they are NOT the same as the songs you hear on DBM2. they sound a lot better with his melodies. you can listen to them on his band camp.

Straight bars right there. I think Kurt did a good job with the band
I remember when this came out on myspace.. everyone was so dissapointed at the time with kurt, but I love this album now!
+lennythebat Myspace tho...
I was happy about it!!
Not everyone, I loved it. Kurt has never disappointed
same thing happened with Tilian haha
I think Kurt was my favorite dgd singer
DGD has paved a place in my memories . thank you. (Every era)
Kurt sang his ASS off in this song
“Let’s make believe we are better off alone”
I'll never get tired of this song.
1:19 - 1:30 My god Kurt's melodies are amazing.
what a great album. its wierd how these guys never got that big
They got something even better imo. A seriously dedicated fanbase that will stick with em no matter what.
They're pretty much at the top of the genre they're in which is as much as you can ask for; this kind of music is never gonna be widely popular
I look back at all the others bands of this time that were bigger and laugh because DGD just kept putting out just better and better albums even 10yrs later- they’re now basically biggest of this genre and didn’t overly change themselves.
Worth noting that this comment is from 10 years ago. I think things have changed a bit since then ;)
At first I wasn't a huge Kurt fan (Johnny Era will always be my favorite), but this album is growing on me.
I’m doing all the albums in chronological order and so far I prefer Jonny. Kurt is good tho.
Now I'm choosing my battles
Now I'm herding the cattle

this song gives me chills

@djgertu This is the most creative. How could you not like just because of the vocals?
His one RWHH song is better than the other 4 combined
Man, I've always wondered the same. This album is amazing from start to end.
Who knows, maybe they'll come back with the new album. haha
How beast can one band be?

Uh yeah, that's why they're all named "The Robot With Human Hair.

Joseph F the unclean vocals are terrible compared to the other albums
Nate dog that's because of production. But jon's screams have gotten better
Louis Charman oh yeah, Jon's screams are definitely better. Just his screaming on this album is terrible imo
Nate dog yea but think at the time about you the time this album was made. They didn't have that much money plus Jon was also ill
Louis Charman I'm completely aware of that, everything else from this album sounds great, just the way they recorded the screams don't sound good to me. Jon's screams on the Ep and DBM sound better than this recording
it's becuz people do alot of amv's of dbz with dgd songs! u should watch some..dance gavin dance songs go good with dbz fight scenes for some reason>.

Does it? I've never read of them being fans of or even watching DBZ.

This might sound weird but does the album art remind you of the death star?
But anyway great album.
bro just wait... tilian pearson is their singer now and they're gonna blow up. look up the robot with human hair part 4.
if you listen to this song with only two ear phones it sounds amazing...
Jonny Craig is a better singer but I think that Kurt was a better fit for this band. This album is probably my favourite album of all time.

they are NOT the same as the songs you hear on DBM2.
