So how much did you pay for everything after it was all said and done? Not sure why everybody says the is38 is a direct bolt on. Sure it'll bolt up fine but you need a bunch of other hardware that supports it to make it work. Only reason I didn't go is38 after my factory turbo blew up
I have a 2014 Gen3 GLI, turbo stock in good condition, billy boat turboback, APR intake. When we installed the stage 2 unitronic it only lasted two miles and the turbo was damaged, hot rotor came off and went through the exhaust system, I even had to lower the system to remove the rotor. I bought a new turbo and installed it but I removed stage 2 and I'm running the car fully stock. It scares me that if I install stage 2 map again, my turbo will burst again. Do you have any suggestion or advice because I see that Uni stage 2 has worked very well for you in your car.
Hey man welcome to the channel! If I were you I would reach out to Unitronic directly they are an amazing company. They were the only ones willing to really help me with the GLI build. I would for sure keep it stock for now though until you can figure out what went wrong. For me now the Unitronic stage 2 kind of just acts as a starting point for JB4 piggyback. But never experienced issues with my stock turbo. I ran stage 2 for I'd say 2 years around. Good luck man!
I went to unitronics directly and they are saying the is38 turbo kit they offer doesnt fit my 2014 gli. They also said they dont have stage 2+ either. What software are you using?

congrats bro
Can i increase my car boot space.
wooooooooooo!!!! been waiting!!!!
How did your IS20 go bad? Another UA-camr Tin Can beat the shit out of it with custom tuning and it didn't blow up very fast.
It actually didn't I made update videos about it - but I was planning on going bigger anyhow
@@717StreetMedia Ok that's good to know, they are very good turbos for longevity, they rarely explode unless badly tuned or wastegate fails.
how is the turbo holding up now?
U can come fix my car lol it will be nice
Bro sick is38 all the way i want to do the same on mine you have a parts list you can share?
#projectgen3gli on Facebook you’ll find everything you need!
@@717StreetMedia thanks 💪🏽
First
I would dyno tune it, I wouldn’t trust data logging
Most people use JB4 including Edwin. I trust it. Plus no known dyno-tuners within like a 3+ hour radius drive lol.
