I love seeing a TV show readthrough from so many different angles and perspectives, I've only seen some tiny bits and piececs of theater read-throughs or photos and this is such a great sneek peak bets. thanks for uploading!
I remember seeing Andrew Buchan in 2010s Garrow's Law and thinking what a great actor. He is will go far. He acted superbly in this, as did every single one of the cast. A brilliant, emotionally draining series.
I'm surprised no one uses the word "serial", which is what Broadchurch is: one story continuing over several episodes. TV used to have plenty of these, as did "Saturday morning cinema". Maybe the word has gone out of fashion with the format. Good to see it returning in this superb serial. TV doesn't get better than this.
and here i am in january of 2021, discovering this gem of a show on Netflix. Thanks to Olivia Coldman to whom i have become a huge fan since The favorite!!
I've just watched Broadchurch all the way through for the second time since it's been a while since I first saw it. I have a couple of questions now after looking back. In season 2, the Sandbrook murders woven in along with Lee Ashworth and Claire were very complex. There was one scene where Claire claimed she slept with Alex Hardy while being interviewed at the station. It came up a couple more times. I'm interested in what other people thought....whether he did or didn't and why ...or why they put that suggestion into the story. I have my own conclusion, but I won't share it quite yet. This truly was one of the best series I've seen in ages. Every actor was fabulous!
I'm pretty sure he didn't sleep with her. Those moments when we see them in the past, where she's in bed and looks at him, are - if I understand it correctly - from when she is in hospital having her abortion and him being nice - which apparently, he can be when he wants to - Or maybe he WAS nice before that Sandbrook-case destroyed all his sympathy for people and relationships? Because apparently, everyone had been lying to him all through that case, beginning with his wife and of course the suspects and in the end, the journalist he'd believed had a rapport with him threw him to the wolves. So maybe he used to be less jaded? We'll never know, I think. As to why Claire said it? Well, to undermine his credibility as a policeman, maybe to cement her status as the poor, innocent victim? Maybe just because she's a compulsive liar and a very convincing one - she DID have Hardy believe her enough to bring her to "safety" from her evil, evil husband. Hardy didn't let them stop the tape when she claimed that he slept with her because he doesn't care what she says - it's false, but if she keeps claiming that, there#s no way to prove that he didn't. After all, they just went through that in the trial with the attorney suggesting he'd had an affair with Miller, so trying to hide her allegations will only make things worse. Why they put it in the story? To keep the audience guessing, I'd say. Until they showed that that shot from the past with the bed was actually when she was in hospital for the abortion and Hardy was trying to sooth her, it COULD have been that her allegations are right. For a bit, I even believed it myself. But when she said it out loud, I was pretty certain she was lying, because at that time she had lost all my sympathy and credibility. I agree with the "best series", to the point that it's the best crime-series I've seen yet. It certainly had me hooked from start to finish each season, even the third which was quite different kept me interested all along. And I'm sad but immensely GLAD that they stopped after s3 and didn't ride that pony to death.
It's pretty much cleared up later on that she was lying, and the flashbacks that Hardy had were him comforting her after an abortion. I guess it was left sort of ambiguous, and they definitely wanted you to believe at first that they had slept with each other.
OMG I did not know there was a making of omg I'm so happy gotta watch this and part 2 as well!xD David is so sweet though, he's great in real life as well cos I ran into him one night when he was filming because it's filmed in my little hometown hehe. Although all I could think when I met him was "omg...10th doctor. No. You were. I was obsessed with you. 10. What. The 10th doctor is in front of me. NO." He was so nice though, and I did really like him in this role as well:D
Is Broadchurch coming back with more episodes? Those two have such a beautiful chemistry. I pray they do. Its so good to see David Tennant looking the same as in the series. PS-I didn't notice this was filmed long time ago, so I guess its not coming back. too bad.
James Strong the Director of Broadchurch? He's very handsome, but David Tennant is so adaptable in his roles. He does not seem to seek fandom by having a pretty face. His personality is so engaging and he does not shy away from putting himself out there. Look at him in Casanove and then Broadchurch. I actually met him first in Broadchurch and became fascinated by who was behind this complicated character. I also adore his Scottish accent having a lot of Scots in my family. He has everything it takes to be a fabulous actor. Have you seen him in "Bad Samaritan?" It's hard to believe he's the same person. Hot to me is 3 dimensional....or 4th? :)
Realised a real doctor was doing something very like this with kids .really Really bad. I didn't like it but hadn't thought how it could affect them until I saw this so had to report him. Just as well I did.
I'm thinking you mean IRL doctor getting too close to the kids, and NOT on the show....is that correct? I'm so glad they did write sexual abuse specifically into the relationship with Joe Miller and Danny. It's implied, and that may be how sexual predators work up to it.....but it would have been too much. Nothing was worse than him killing a child in the heat of anger....adding a sexual element would have been horrific. I'm glad you reported the doctor.....and hope that you stopped horrendous behavior. One has to be completely sick to go through education and dedication to be a doctor and then turn out to be a child predator.
It is not nearly as action packed as Dr Who, I am not really a fan of drama. I don't think it is realistic to expect many shows to stack up well against my favorite show of all time. Even so I will watch this because I like to see people who's work I like doing other things.
I started with second season. I was interesting but too long. Three disks just to catch a killer. It should have ended there and let the detective move on to a new case but noooo. Great acting but to tedious. Ive had enough.
Well the second season is a direct continuation of the first season and you obviously don't get the point of the show. You can't just skip through the story without knowing how the show works and then call it stupid because you don't understand it. I mean, seriously, are you stupid?
Well, I watched season one , and they should have stuck with the ONE hour show. I found Broadchurch extremely tedious and boring. I wound up skipping 4 segments and just going straight to the end. I can't say that I'm all that impressed with David Tennant either. He comes across as a scrawny, sniveling idiot, who doesn't know his arse from a hole in the ground. The actor doing Joe Miller was far better than all of them put together. Hope to see more of HIM !
Bianca is right....just opinions....but I'm a David Tennant fan. I read that Olivia was the only one in the cast that knew from the beginning who the killer was. They were brilliant in keeping that information quiet to get a truly shocking response. It was interesting to watch it again and pay attention to the character that was guilty and watch the acting. It really made it more believable.
Every time David reach his pocket for the pills, I just keep thinking that he is gonna pull out the sonic screwdriver.
😂😂😂
I know this is 9 years later but same I thought I was the only one 😂
I love how they were all like "no, they are all such horrible people, I can't stand working with them" and then there's Jodie "I love him!!!"
Ellie's my fave character in the show. She's got a really nice smile too.
Anglo-Saxophone she radiated mum energy
Olivia Colman is a gem
Olivia and David were incredible in this.
The Tenth Doctor, The Thirteenth Doctor and Rory Williams in one place?!?!? Wouldn't that cause pair-a-docs?
Also the first Doctor. And later on, Gwen Cooper. And let's not forget Prisoner Zero. It's a bit timey-wimey
The word's paradox, and yes, it probably would. No, wait, scratch that last bit, it definitely would with all the characters from the franchise.
Totally underrated comment here.
@@RuchiraRambles plus Chris Chibnall
This is the only valid pun in existence
I just love how Ellie’s character evolved throughout the seasons!! And how Olivia evolved as an actress too!!!
Alec is by far my favorite, he's such a mood
i love how mark latimer was already in costume. he can just wear regular clothes for filming
Optional Life Challenge: work every single actor from broadchurch into doctor who
is it just me or is the audio late?
ITS FRUSTRATING
Juliane Nguy it is
Its extremely late
Those blue doors distracted me... waiting for those to open and a doctor to step out..
Omg same lol!
My God! Susan Wright is smiling and happy... WOW!
Still watching in 2022, wish it had continued with more series. Could watch Millaaaar and David forever!
Great group of actors! Great casting all around!
really wanted david tennant to say 'hello I'm David Tennant and I play the Doctor'
I love seeing a TV show readthrough from so many different angles and perspectives, I've only seen some tiny bits and piececs of theater read-throughs or photos and this is such a great sneek peak bets. thanks for uploading!
David Tennant Looks Hot As DI Alec Hardy :)
Lmao, doesn't he?
I remember seeing Andrew Buchan in 2010s Garrow's Law and thinking what a great actor. He is will go far. He acted superbly in this, as did every single one of the cast. A brilliant, emotionally draining series.
Grapes.
Hope he doesn’t choke on them.
Oh wait. They’re seedless
how come DT and OC have such crazy chemistry in this?
David tennant just get this special chemistry with any co-actor, that's why they all love to work with him.
WAAAAAAA THE CAST IS SO FUNNY AND SWEEEEEEET!!! I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!
(and David looks so grumpy-Hardy with that beard)
10,13AND RORY?!
I’M HAVING AN EMOTION-
It s amazing to see behind the scenes with the casting meeting that was cool
Rude and not ginger...
Rory... What have you done to your hair?

The way he described it in the beginning made me wonder if it’s not a common British tv format.
@@NinaVuosomaybe I know there is a thing with series and seasons

David tennant & Miller theyre awsome love this shows from England the best0
For TV people you would have thought they could do something about the INCREDIBLY DISTRACTING background noise through the cast interviews.
I remember when Arthur Darvill was a presenter on CITV
My favourite show these days, wish it could continue.

Ragster Sterohum broad church isn't a movie
Anything with David Tennant in it, I'm here for!
Omg he's the snake like human who worked for Vuldimort and pretended to be Pros. Moody, in Harry Potter Goblet of Fire!
Maggie McDermott Surprise! Now he's a snake like demon too.
Damn, Rory's hungover . . . .
Anyone else think Olivia Colman would make a great Doctor?

oh lord - i do like these two detectives.
aaah the 1 second lag is ...frustrating! other than that good video !
excellent show- I wonder if they will put up season 2 on Netflix (american Netflix)
I've found season 2 on UA-cam!
Is there season 1 ?? Bc i don't have it :(
AWESOME !!!
We're they all joking when they said the things about the aggressive cast?
Really? #Broadchurch had action, I would say. Best series ever!
Jodie ❤

It’s a pity Chibnall couldn’t manage this standard on Doctor Who! 🙁
Brilliant
A lot of my friends think Tennant is hot, but I thing James Strong beats Tennant in hotness by mile. He's ADORABLE.
