Never could get it! Got it now! Thanks for the easy directions and the slow motion. Thanks again have learned how to do a couple of things from you. Your a great teacher and easy to follow.
Mickey you are THE BEST!! I love watching and listening to you.. very easy to understand.. very detailed.. Thank you sooo much for all you do!! I wouldn't be able to do all that I can without you!
I am a beginner and I had not heard of the magic circle until I started a beanie project. I searched online and viewed many videos before I found yours. I just wasnt getting it!! Till I watched yours. You took your time and explained it very well. Thank you soooooo much!!!
sure I think you could do this.....it would be a sting of small circles....however I think instaed of using a sc to join them a slip stitch or using a needle and thread to join them might look and work better since they will be so small....but play around with your idea and see what you can come up with....thats what creativity is all about ....have fun :) Cathy@ the crochet crowd helpdesk :)
Part 1....hey there ...you want to put your stitch marker at the top of your ch 2 at the beginning of your round this way you know when you come back around you have completed your row...when you get to the stitch marker you usually want to slip stitch into the top of your beginning chain up where your stitch marker is then chain up 2 and go the same way you where going around for the previous row and all rows.
Thank you so much Mickey, because of your videos I am beginning to get much more comfortable with crocheting. I have a question, on some of the patterns that you do you talk about changing the chain count to get the size you want. How do you come up with the number to chain so that it is even. Example, on one pattern you said to chain on by two's and at end add 5. How did you figure this out? Thank you once again and keep up the good work.
Oh my goodness Mikey, you must have been reading my mind...lol I just started seeing this in other videos and just used it to create little "berries" for my little wreath. I guess I was doing it right. :)
Thanks for the video...im tryin to make a half double crochet hat and am having trouble making the rounds. Im having trouble where i come up on my stitch marker...im not totally sure where to put it and if i ch1 and turn or just keep working the direction i was, with a ch1 or with out. Im just really confused! Help would be muuuch appreciated!

Hello I am trying to do the magic circle with 8 hdc I put 8 stitches in but when I join I have more then 8 is there video showing how to count correctly in the round TY
can i ask about the number of the stitch? is it always 8 for every type of stitch (sc, hdc, dc, and tc)? is there any exact rule about the total number of stitch for every row maybe?
I'm working on the Red Heart Crochet Save the Earth Bag, which calls for this, and the tutorial they have on the site goes way too fast! I watched it four times and still couldn't get it. =( Thank you for this wonderful video! =D
We have over 285 videos with Subtitles. We've been working on them since August. We haven't got to this one yet. We have a dedicated playlist of all CC in our channel. It takes upwards 1 - 7 hours per video to subtitle. It's just me working on this channel. I'm doing the best I can but I also seem to disappoint people regardless.
I'm a newbie, learned a few basic stitches from a book. I feel the need to make a substantial piece but I lack confidence. Then I look at your videos and I understand better so I keep at it. Thanks for everything you do.
Finally! Ive watched several videos on how to do this and yours is the only one i could get thru my head. Thank you!

I always use the magic circle. As much as I love to crochet, I don't like a lot of holes in my projects. The magic circle helps me have less holes. :)

Yes... you can use it for either or... if you want an open centre, don't pull it all the way shut.

Hi any chance you can show how to go from half double crochet to double crochet and back to half double crochet
i find it easier to do the wrap around two fingers, rather than one. but that's just me :)
