Love this song and video. One of my first cars, a 1973 Honda Civic, was named "Patches". Johnny sung this better than Dickie Lee. You can sense the depth of feeling in Johnny's rendition.
Now that I think about it, you're right. Johnny does sing it better. And . . some one else who names cars! My Nissan is named Cricket. LOL

Papa used to tease me about it
