With a healthy lee, this kid wouldn't have seen the end of the 2nd round. Still 7-0 in national championship match is an ass kicking. Im not taking anything away from the Arizona kid, because he absolutely deserves, and belongs there. Lee is just a different animal. His level is way above college wrestling.

Nah. He just isn't taking the time (1 year) to shoot down. His 4 NCAA championship goal. The surgery itself is commonplace and takes 2 hours now. It's the healing time.
the surgery now a days is almost 100% safe. Even disc surgeries have a 95% recovery rate within 1 month. They use lasers and shit, its crazy

To all the pro athletes....that is how a captain of a championship team is supposed to be, it’s never “me” it’s about the team! This is the type of person you want to captain whatever game you play. Super inspiring 😎👍
Most definitely not a Hawkeye fan but I give credit where credit is due. Lee takes the Hodge this year. There is nobody else this season that checks ALL of the boxes of the Hodges requirements for the trophy!

Being charged with "Sexual Assault" and suspended isn't going to help him either. That's the "Citizenship" box.
His idea of him not being able to wrestle is still winning a national title. Insane!!
Difficult to comprehend the pressure this young man is under and how well he exceeds expectations. It was difficult to watch the interview at the end knowing how much pain he must be in with bad knees

He has a really nice game plan and executes it almost flawlessly every match. Very few people will be able to stop it until he gets to the world stage.
That's a fucking champ right there. Could have easily let him up at the end and just circled for 10 seconds without any worry, but he wasn't gonna let him get even one point

Spencer lee usually isn’t super great in the 3rd period as he does a lot of his work in the 1st period. He’s been that way for a while and that’s partially how desanto beat him in highschool. Kept it close and took it to the 3rd, then got after it
