    As a staunch quartz-only owner, I gotta say Citizen has the backs of all quartz-supporters with affordable, amazing looking timepieces and have to be my favorite watch company (tho some of their stuff look like Invictas can’t lie lol)

    The watch lovers love to see the watches in the review rather than the face of the reviewer. In all the reviews, you appear so frequently, almost in every seconds, that I feel it disturbing. You may please think about it. Thanks

    It is good to see Citizen starting to get some love on UA-cam, I have been frustrated for many years how many watch geeks show love for Seiko yet seem to write off Citizen, don't get me wrong I like Seiko and have a few but I also have a few Citizens, they make great Automatics, lovely Eco Drives, and their material quality and build standards are very high, and they are reliable, my titanium eco drives beater is over 25 years old and is still going stong albeit with some deterioration in power reserve, but hey after 25 years I can't complain.

      I'm also a huge Citizen fan. And I own a lot of both. I will say that I wear my Eco-Drive watches MUCH more than any of my automatic watches!!!
      I've been wanting to try this one even though I'm not a dress watch guy, and much more a diver and field watch person. But this ticks a LOT of boxes for me and I'm going to try one!!!

      @@TopTierTickerdidn't you do a video for this watch awhile back? I could've sworn it was you, if not it was that American guy living in Japan (can't think of his name, sorry) and I have wanted one of these ever since seeing that first video about it!
      But I'm not going to lie, i WISH it came in a solar Eco-Drive model. Don't get me wrong, I love and am still constantly amazed at the construction of an automatic or handwound watch, but I rarely use my multiple automatics anymore.
      My Citizen Promaster Diver Eco-Drive BN0150-28E (on my wrist RIGHT now with an orange FKM Fluororubber strap on it) is my most worn watch of ALL time. For the last 10-12 months or so, I've worn an automatic for MAYBE one month, while I had a solar Eco-Drive or a CasiOak GA-B2100 or GST-B300E-5A with Tough Solar and Bluetooth on the majority of the time. While I love a nice automatic, I'm just sick of fooling with them to be honest 😮😢

  • @danielthegeek4582

    These are nice looking watches, and I’m a fan of Citizen, but comparing this to a Rolex is just silly. It has a very basic movement, which is easily outclassed by Seiko movements, is let down badly by a lousy pressed clasp, and the water resistance is mediocre. It certainly has better QC than similarly priced Seiko watches, but calling the movement modern, when an NH35 will perform much more reliably.. nope. It’s very nice, but it’s not going to kill Rolex by any stretch of the imagination. And I don’t like Rolex.

    • @TopTierTicker
      @TopTierTicker  10 місяців тому +5

      The NH35 isn't inside the watches that reviewers consider 'Killers', it's the 7s26. So in comparison with that movement, yes the Citizen is much more modern. And it wasn't that long ago when Rolex used pressed clasps...
      I'm not trying to claim that this watch is better than a Rolex in any way, just an argument that the Tsuyosa is wayyyyy closer to Rolex than the old school 5.

    • @danielthegeek4582
      @danielthegeek4582 10 місяців тому +1

      @@TopTierTicker I’ll agree the old 7s26 movement is naff, but it’s been discontinued for 12 years, and I can pick up a Seiko 5 with one in for £70 new, so it’s a bit of an unfair comparison. The main problem is that every UA-cam review on earth calls damn near every watch a “Rolex killer”. Actually, closer to them would be San Martin who produce insanely good watches for the price. They are infinitely better value than any Rolex, which are stupidly overpriced and pretty average watches by comparison to similarly priced watches like Omega or Grand Seiko. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Citizen.. it’s a nice looking piece, but they could have included a milled clasp when they are asking £300. I know Rolex (and everyone else) were using pressed clasps until recently, but we aren’t in “until recently”. They need to be on par with what’s released now.

    "Those Seiko 5 that will fall apart in a few years time" is a pretty asinine thing to say. Do your research and you'll find that the very simple 7S26 caliber was designed to run years without being serviced, in the tradition of the 61xx to 63xx movements.

    • @TopTierTicker
      @TopTierTicker  8 місяців тому +3

      I've owned 3 of those old school 5s. I know all about the 7s26. The movement itself is fine, a proper workhouse, albeit old fashioned. But it's the materials that will give. The mineral glass will have plenty of scratches, the hollow bracelets will stretch, and the 30m water resistance doesn't install much confidence.
      Nothing wrong with those Seiko 5s, they make an excellent dress piece. They just don't offer much longevity

      You can pick up the Tsuyosa for close to $300 from plenty of retailers. At that price, it's much better than the quartz PRX. The Auto PRX is better, but double the price. I made a video comparing the two, check it out.
      But short answer, no, I'd say get the Tsuyosa.

  • @cunawarit
    @cunawarit 3 місяці тому +1

    The Tsuyosa would be perfect if it was high accuracy quartz and 34-36mm.

    • @andr3970
      @andr3970 3 місяці тому

      Non mechanical watch will beat the accuracy of quartz. You can compare the most expensive mechanical movement vs the most cheaper quartz movement and the quartz will always outperform the mechanical movement.
      But most people including myself like more mechanical movement than quartz because in my opinion is a more elegant engine, also is the og engine that makes watches work before quartz were a thing, you can make art with mechanical movement in the watch therefore mechanical movement watches will always be more expensive than quartz

    The Citizen is a Japanese company. The Japanese are great imitators not innovators. Most electronic devices that you are familiar (VCR, DVD etc) were invented by caucasians. Even Citizen's eco drive solar watch was invented by an American in 1968. It was unsuccessful due to battery technology at the time. If you study the history invention the Japanese become less and less impressive. After all we dropped the atomic bomb on them not the reverse. Essentially all Japanese time pieces are derivative of Swiss engineering going back centuries. The first electronic watch was invented by Hamilton originally an American company manufactured in Lancaster Pennsylvania in the 1950s.
