i had a feeling gusty garden was coming, but damnit, it got me to nostalgic tears after your original interpretation from the first of these melodies and your earlier mpc vids never ever stop being amazing, man
Nintendo affiliates: "please take this down" people in comments: "this makes me want to buy Nintendo products!" Nintendo: "Ok, it can stay up" but seriously, you are incredible! I love and respect Nintendo's composers, but they didn't have the foresight to make something as awesome as this! A superb arrangement! I have so many favorite parts -- no doubt affected by my personal nostalgia -- but in brief... 1:07 - 2:02 (two great songs with a great transition), 3:49 - 4:14 (this theme will always be #1 for me, but the little touch of the 1-Up sound! love it! also, Epicness), 6:30 - 6:34 (very creative transition that works really well), 12:15 - 15:20 (just a fantastic section overall, can't believe you got Odyssey stuff in there!), 24:50 - 26:15 (blended beautifully), and 30:04 - 31:48 (another classic, my #2 ever, surrounded by great transitions). In any case, that's all just splitting hairs, because I loved every second of it! Much respect my man
Holy shit, I don't know why Nintendo hasn't put this and you in their Hall of Fame yet, because holy shit, this is absolutely amazing. Only a true fan of Mario and Nintendo could make something so masterfully composed, especially with Mario Paint. I applaud this, grant it 500/5 all that good stuff, the highest possible ranking I can think of. :)
I LOVE how you pop in the song names a few seconds after they start. It gives you enough time to play the guessing game and see if you recognize them, without leaving you to scour the comments section if there's something you don't know. More medley videos need to do something like this. Me, I recognized pretty much everything but the Mario Land 2 and Odyssey songs (minus Jump Up), as I haven't played those. It's amazing how despite the crazy amount of games and the crazy amount of music they have to be filled with, that most of the songs are still distinct from each other and recognizable even in a simple SNES-era soundfont. This is a wonderful medley. Thank you for making it and blessing us on this day. (And nice, sneaky Yoshi's Island riff at the end there :p)
I really like how you only made the title cards display, when the listener has already realized that it has already transitioned to the next song. This avoids these title cards being jaring, and avoids these title cards stopping the flow of the song.
I still remember six years ago when you released that Zelda melody for the 25th anniversary. I was just as astonished as I am now from the absolute genius and creativity that’s gone into this melody. Thank you truly for making this, as it was a joy to listen to and a privilege to hear your excellence with Mario Paint after so long.
Ever since you released the preview for this project, I knew it was going to be a big one. I didn't expect this big, and I do believe it went far beyond expectations. Very well done!

@IMakePeopleSaltyApparently you can train your ear to listen for certain sounds, so what you're personally noticing isn't unheard of. I just never paid much attention to it when I played Mario 64 as a child. Lol.
The talent on display here is unreal. I was absolutely blown away by the amount of care and attention to detail this composition has. It took my breath away. Amazing!

every time i watch this, i can't leave without crying with that ending, it's so beautiful, even i haven't played most of the titles, the feeling of nostalgia hits me so hard

I want to share this with as many peeps as I can, cause holy moly... this medley... it's just the kind of dedication I'd expect from fans when something truly great is made. I haven't head all of these themes in either a long time, or some not at all in their original form, but I can still appreciate how good they all are here. Mario Paint is something that when used right makes truly impressive stuff.
I remember the Evolution of Video Games medley... I remember back when everybody was using old Mario Paint Composer to male all sorts of video game covers... Without artists like you, I'd probably never have started writing music. Thank you so much. This medley is fantastic, and I'm so glad you spent the time making another wonderful piece of art, a decade after the "fad" died out. Hearing Odyssey music like this brings tears to my eyes. Who ever filed these copyright claims has no respect for all the love, care, creativity, patience and time this massive mario medley is clearly made of. One could say this medley is an "oddyssey" through the mushroom kingdom of old and new and even beyond. I keep a lot of those melodies inside my heart not just for nostalgia reasons, but because they remember me to never let the kid inside me go. Mario games have brought so much fun and joy into my life and they still do now. They helped me to connect with many people and even my best friends. So thank you so much for not stepping down even after receiving these copyright claims and giving people like me the chance to listen to this medley in it's full glory. Just wow. It's clear you are an excellent composer probably making a living making music outside of this, and it shows how much fun you had making this and your other medleys in your spare time. I can just hear all the awesome embellishments throughout to make these songs, making their personalities shine. I was intrigued when you debuted the Evolution of Video Games Medley, enamored when the Zelda Medley appeared, and don't know how it can get any better with this new Mario Medley (though I am sure you will find a way!). You should pretty much be the author of the Mario Paint Composer program at this point because I haven't seen talent even close to this, and all with the base sounds. Amazing. Job.
Something about medleys like this just turns me into a teary-eyed sap. All the memories and good times just keep rushing back, and it's almost too much of a good feeling all at once.
Honestly this is in my top 10 Videos of all time, still amazing all these years later. I always find myself coming back to this video and remembering the times of Odysseys release fondly, this video is become sort of nostalgic to me, add that onto the already existing nostalgia with all these classic songs, and you have yourself an amazing video with lots of passion behind it. Great job!
The fact you used the original soundfont for this makes it 100x more epic. I love the cheeky added sound effects, too, like the 1-up and pipe entrance.

It's astounding that you were able to recreate some of these very complex songs (like the Galaxy stuff) perfectly. These compositions are really layered and inspired. Awesome work!
alright. more than a year later of first listening to this song, and actually learning something about how music works, and all the samples and all that, I've declared that this is one of the BEST compositions I've heard in a really big time, specially since you probably had to place all those tiny little heads and mushrooms manually while listening to the songs second by second frame by frame, and then rendering or recording this must've been your final tear of joy. I tried to make a very short similar thing to this, but I couldn't. My respects for you good man, have skyrocketed too much to even count, but I will say that this will someday go down as an example on how to never give up on a project that you want to to very badly, but not only that, but also one of the best Mario renditions of Mario paint, ever. I'll stop rambling about how good this is because honestly this is just turning into an annoying amazon review, but yeah, hats off man. Amazing work! even 5 years later this was not aged at all.

I have so many favorite parts -- no doubt affected by my personal nostalgia -- but in brief... 1:07 - 2:02 (two great songs with a great transition), 3:49 - 4:14 (this theme will always be #1 for me, but the little touch of the 1-Up sound! love it! also, Epicness), 6:30 - 6:34 (very creative transition that works really well), 12:15 - 15:20 (just a fantastic section overall, can't believe you got Odyssey stuff in there!), 24:50 - 26:15 (blended beautifully), and 30:04 - 31:48 (another classic, my #2 ever, surrounded by great transitions). In any case, that's all just splitting hairs, because I loved every second of it! Much respect my man

Holy shit, I don't know why Nintendo hasn't put this and you in their Hall of Fame yet, because holy shit, this is absolutely amazing. Only a true fan of Mario and Nintendo could make something so masterfully composed, especially with Mario Paint. I LOVE how you pop in the song names a few seconds after they start. It gives you enough time to play the guessing game and see if you recognize them, without leaving you to scour the comments section if there's something you don't know. More medley videos need to do something like this.
Me, I recognized pretty much everything but the Mario Land 2 and Odyssey songs (minus Jump Up), as I haven't played those. It's amazing how despite the crazy amount of games and the crazy amount of music they have to be filled with, that most of the songs are still distinct from each other and recognizable even in a simple SNES-era soundfont.
This is a wonderful medley. Thank you for making it and blessing us on this day. (And nice, sneaky Yoshi's Island riff at the end there :p)

I really like how you only made the title cards display, when the listener has already realized that it has already transitioned to the next song.
This avoids these title cards being jaring, and avoids these title cards stopping the flow of the song.
This is truly the ultimate mario theme

I want to share this with as many peeps as I can, cause holy moly... this medley... it's just the kind of dedication I'd expect from fans when something truly great is made. I haven't head all of these themes in either a long time, or some not at all in their original form, but I can still appreciate how good they all are here. Mario Paint is something that when used right makes truly impressive stuff.
I remember the Evolution of Video Games medley... I remember back when everybody was using old Mario Paint Composer to male all sorts of video game covers...

One could say this medley is an "oddyssey" through the mushroom kingdom of old and new and even beyond. I keep a lot of those melodies inside my heart not just for nostalgia reasons, but because they remember me to never let the kid inside me go. Mario games have brought so much fun and joy into my life and they still do now. They helped me to connect with many people and even my best friends. Just wow. It's clear you are an excellent composer probably making a living making music outside of this, and it shows how much fun you had making this and your other medleys in your spare time. I can just hear all the awesome embellishments throughout to make these songs, making their personalities shine. I was intrigued when you debuted the Evolution of Video Games Medley, enamored when the Zelda Medley appeared, and don't know how it can get any better with this new Mario Medley (though I am sure you will find a way!). You should pretty much be the author of the Mario Paint Composer program at this point because I haven't seen talent even close to this, and all with the base sounds. Amazing. Job.

Something about medleys like this just turns me into a teary-eyed sap. All the memories and good times just keep rushing back, and it's almost too much of a good feeling all at once.
Honestly this is in my top 10 Videos of all time, still amazing all these years later. I always find myself coming back to this video and remembering the times of Odysseys release fondly, this video is become sort of nostalgic to me, add that onto the already existing nostalgia with all these classic songs, and you have yourself an amazing video with lots of passion behind it.

alright. more than a year later of first listening to this song, and actually learning something about how music works, and all the samples and all that, I've declared that this is one of the BEST compositions I've heard in a really big time, specially since you probably had to place all those tiny little heads and mushrooms manually while listening to the songs second by second frame by frame, and then rendering or recording this must've been your final tear of joy. I tried to make a very short similar thing to this, but I couldn't. My respects for you good man, have skyrocketed too much to even count, but I will say that this will someday go down as an example on how to never give up on a project that you want to to very badly, but not only that, but also one of the best Mario renditions of Mario paint, ever. I'll stop rambling about how good this is because honestly this is just turning into an annoying amazon review, but yeah, hats off man. Amazing work! even 5 years later this was not aged at all.
