John - I love your videos. I used to fish every weekend with my father in the Raritan Bay for fluke/blues/ling. I miss those days. Bit too far from the coast now but hoping during retirement I can get a small boat for fluke and stripers. I enjoy your tips and your overall knowledge and demeanor. Makes me feel like I am out on the water with my father again.
Another great trip John. I do a ton of kayak fishing like this and have learned so much from you. Thanks for sharing its made such a difference in my success!
it was good seeing you out there yesterday john. it was very impressive watching you navigate all those boat wakes. We ended the day with 6 keepers. remember hook-sets are free, tight lines!
@@JohnSkinnerFishing John! Always appreciate the amazing content. I wish you could start each video by stating a date or at least a rough date! I love going back watching the old videos but always have to try to pin down what time of year it is.
Our flounder season has been sad in the Chesapeake Bay. I caught 9 shorties today, no keepers. 22 last weekend, zero legal. I'm jealous of how good your fishery is.
Great footage and fishing as always John. Do you ever tip your bucktail jigs (for any species)with Fishbites instead of Gulp or Rind substitutes? I've had some luck with it, and you can custom shape them with scissors for different actions or use small pieces for short strikers.
My brother is down the shore in New Jersey and has complained how rough its been this year. I just got back from Cape Cod last week and the wind never stopped. Weird summer with the high heat and wind.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing I live in South Jersey the fish out of Atlantic City to Avalon. The ocean is very frigid and the fluke Are not Active at all period
Why wouldn’t he advertise salt strong which he’s part he just taught you a big lesson with so strong on how to use the map and what the map represents if you’re a fisherman what the hell are you talking about?
Here is the thing I don't get..it seems he's just trying to sell products and not give advice. Advice and knowledge would be like we are fishing here today at this stage of tide, ect... that would be awesome. We are a community of fisherman...I always share details if people ask... there's plenty of fish in the sea....
Sorry but I beg to differ. If you know what you are hearing he is giving a lot of advice and frankly him and John from Jigging Jerks have resulted in me cutting the learning curve by years. Frankly the Dark Skinner Matter rod he uses can probably be used for almost every type of fishing I do. While I can't replicate the numbers he catches I can replicate catching fish using the right equipment, rigs, styles of fishing etc. John is also very adaptive and it still amazes me when he tries something new. He is also not afraid to say every now and then that something doesn't work. I was out in a few striper blitzes in the bays, he was spot on with eventually finding what they were hitting and how. Using techniques from the south up North worked pretty well. Same with Striper fishing styles in the rip out at Orient. I used it myself, finally started catching them without losing all my rigs. In some cases I cannot replicate what he is doing because I don't have a Minn Kota on my boat which does result in days where he can catch and I can't based on drifting, scoping etc.
The man has published several books on the subject and has a decade of videos with all of those details for you to consume, he’s hands down the most helpful fisherman I have ever come across
Yeah, so crazy. My local grocery store does the same thing, all they’d do is sell food, they don’t teach me to cook it. My local car dealer sells cars but doesn’t give driving lessons. So very strange… His business is selling gear and books. If you watch his videos and pay attention you’ll pick up tons of free advice. Want more? Buy the book.
Most gracious fishing celebrity ever

Very kind of you to take time to help fellow anglers. Great video!

You’re the man. Awesome interaction with the others and giving them your catch
Nice job John your a asset to the angler community Thank you
Thank you very much for your videos, John
Great video as always. Cant beat those big nice fish from kayak. Great work
Nice to see you back out in the yak again. Great day there.
Nice video and also nice to see you socialize with other anglers out on I enjoyed it.
The legend strikes again! Used a little of your bucktail magic Saturday am in the rain and killed the sea bass!
Dude love the videos keep up the great work
Good man Mr. Skinner
Always gettin on the fish skinner good stuff
John, really like that camera angle on the kayak!
Hey John, great video as always! For those big keepers it would be great to get the length (in case weighing them wastes too much time).

The boat waves definitely added another dimension to the fishing!

Wow. Amazing 🎉🎉🎉
Amazing video

Saw you out there John ...Nice trip....on my boat the two of us grinded all tide for 3 keeper's to 22 inch. Same exact set up.
🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣 Quality time with the fans 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I saw you out there my friends didn’t believe it was you lol
If a trolling motor wasn't so expensive I would definitely have one to get the proper drift. Right now I am at the mercy of the wind and tide.
You need to carry a few signed books with you to hand out to the fans😂😂😂
JS: I fished all day on two gulp. NASDAQ: GULP stock trending down... :D

1 foot contours? Wow!
good outing!
Hey John, that net you used fluking on the yak is ideal. What brand/model is it?
Nothing like on the water training :). And you still catch fish while doing it.
This guy with all the questions 🤣🤣. That’s so unnerving for me when I’m out fishing it drives me insane.
Lmao John. When you pulled that flag out of the water initially I was thinking what the hell kinda fish was that?!
When are you going back to the beach?
Im surprised with how many trips you've made this year. Seems like every chance i get to go the wind is blowing 20 knots.
lol it’s been a windy season
My brother is down the shore in New Jersey and has complained how rough its been this year. I just got back from Cape Cod last week and the wind never stopped. Weird summer with the high heat and wind.
Nice Boston Whaler.
Like that flag pole, little expensive though !
Any advice on how to find areas for fluke when in the kayak/looking at maps?
If the water's clear enough and shallow enough, look at aerials. If not, get the Navionics App, turn on relief shading, and look for channel edges.
I have an outback, ( no motor) from where you’re launching, would it be too far to use ? Thanks.
I wouldn't do it without a motor.
John, do you have the Old Town 120 or 136?
120
Why do you think the smaller fluke hit the teaser more? What colors do you like in shallower water?
Same happens to me, I'm guessing just the smaller profile
John, you are the fishing guru man. Thanks! Hey! High Low Rig fishing from shore. How much weight? Technique - retrieve? let it drift?
Lift the gill to remove the deep hooks
I’m curious what the water temperature was and how deep you were fishing. Thank you.
Right around 70, 8-10'.

GOAT
“Fluke 2 nights in a row”, can I come for dinner?
Hey man I’ve been fishing Moriches Bay with little results. Do you have any spots or lures to try?
He's made hundreds of videos to help you. All about rigs and tackle. And his sponsor can help you find spots. Salt strong
I wonder how many bay anglers watched this and then angrily went and threw the orange gulp containers in the garbage.
Dark matter rod about $300, kayak about $4000, Free on the water lessons by JS...PRICELESS
Excellent. The rod is $200 though! bit.ly/3B4X1Q1
John, that's a fantastic fluke jigging rod. My guess is you had a fair amount of input on the design. Tight lines!
Send some fluke to the Western LI Sound please. There are none this year. It's so bad.
Interesting. We had them in the eastern sound better than previous recent years, but now all shorts as is typical for this time of year.
@@JohnSkinnerFishing 3 years ago you couldn't miss by me. Now you're lucky to find one.
Montauk is op for fluke
1st comment. John would love to get you out on my boat on the south shore.
I suppose those two guys are only gonna be eating fish for a day...
The differences in our catches was due mostly to the fact that I could control my drift with my trolling motor.
Nuclear chicken

Teach a man to fish and he wants to know your social security number lol.
Bruh he stopped while fishing to help teach a guy in a kayak ….what are you expecting lol
