As the owner of a 57 Biarritz, 58 Eldorado Brougham, 59 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud II and several other semi rare cars, this 56 impressed me for two reasons! 1. the extremely rare continental kit and 2. The speed that the top operates! Sensational Automobile to say the least!! Muting the music made the experience all that more enjoyable!!., 👍👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉👏👏👏👏👏
I've owned quite a few convertible's. The proper way to lower the top.---1-Release the top from the windshield taking tension off the rear plastic window and zipper. 2- Unzip the rear plastic window and lay it flat. If you still have the hard glass original widow this step can be skipped. 3- Start top down but stop about 2/3 of the way. 4- Gently pull the top and pad material from between the folding bars/top framing so as not to pinch the pads and top material when top all the way down. 5- Finish lowering the top. 6- Tuck the top and pads down into top storage area. 7-There should be a leather strap to secure the top so when driving over bumps etc. the top does not move in storage area thus chafing the material. 8-Install the soft boot after letting it soften up in the sun so as not to stress the button fasteners, if hard parade boot this is not necessary. When raising the top unfasten the strap then raise top most of the way. Zip window back in while top not all the way closed so as not to stress the zipper. After zipping window, lock/fasten top to windshield. How you lower or raise your top is non of my business but I just described the proper method. I don't know why the no. one item above is lined out here.
The Lincoln Continental Mark II was a whole tier above. Ford lost thousands on each sale and they were more expensive than Rolls Royce or any other car.
David Iverson you’re right. Today you don’t even se the diffirense of a Cadillac and a Volvo, but think about the doffirences of those cars in the 50’s. Thanks for watching:) Bjorn
No they do not. If only I had Bill Gates type money. I would have a warehouse of this era car and take them out each day (except on rainy days). I will say I still like current Cadillac designs over all American manufacturers, some current Lincolns are beautiful as well. Even the music from that era I still enjoy, you can understand the words.
Just turned 63, my first car was ma and pas 56 cadillac 4 door. When my brother was born, i had to share the back seat with a bassinet. B4 dad passed, i told him of all his cars and all his trucks( he had some nice ones), there was 1 i wished he kept. He asked which 1 was that, and i replied the 56 caddy. Then i learned about the 56 eldorado and elvis' 56 eldorado. I had 1 chance to purchase an eldo biarritz and things didnt quite go the way id hoped, so i get to appreciate everyone elses 56's and watch a 76 deteriorate for reasons i wont discuss here. Banker be damned( he did get fired) i shoulda got it.😊. Beautiful car!
I was born in 1956 , here in Europa when we saw an american car it was unbeleavebel, why the sheer power v 8 a chassis beams chroom ect everything on it but the question was Amerika helpt in the war , the unbeleavebel power of the country in the world the feel of it the greatness of it we couldnot imagine it , my father drove a biuck and when we were on the gotthard pas and other people were there with a citroen deux chevau beetle he passed all of them and when we were at the top of the Mountain he said we have to be respect to those people ectect, with teers in his eyes, he was born in 1915. Enjoyed this video "who cares if it was done some time ago". This is truly a "Cadillac car"! To think the awe inspiring Eldorado Brougham would be making it's appearance in the not too distant future. Truly envious of the owner, background music was cool as well.
The owner should place a super soft towel on the outside of the rear soft top window to prevent the plastic window from getting scratched and to absorb moisture in the boot area over time....
Gorgeous car! The excess of the 50’s exemplified in American cars was rightfully justified in context to what Americans had to live through in the 40’s. The boxy, minimalist cars of the 60’s do not compare.
An ultimate favorite car, but oh, the continental tire/rear is a very sad decision, covering the most outstanding rear end styling in auto history. I so much want to see that trunk and vee I can’t stand it.....
I agree, back in 1959 I bought a 1955 Buick Century Convertible from a used car lot. It had a continental kit on it too. First thing I did when I got it home was remove it.

It appears perfect in every detail. What a restoration. Someone spared no expense or effort.
That feeling when cars from 65 years ago look better than today's cars.
That Continental kit actually looks pretty good, no ungodly looking rear bumper extension sticking out a mile
Beautiful car. Caddy’s from the 1950’s were the most beautiful cars ever made.
An Exceptionally Beauuutiful Car!💕

Wow that's a lot of great information to know. I never actually knew any of that. Thank you very much.
Imagine buying that car new and using as your every day car. What an era to have lived in .
The Lincoln Continental Mark II was a whole tier above. Ford lost thousands on each sale and they were more expensive than Rolls Royce or any other car.
Elvis did,almost identical for 6,600$$
Really nice, luxurious car. They just don't make them like that anymore. Thanks for posting.

The car's condition is incredible, a credit to it's owner

what a beautiful car!!
WHAT A DREAM....A REAL CADILLAC>>>THE GEM....
The owner should place a super soft towel on the outside of the rear soft top window to prevent the plastic window from getting scratched and to absorb moisture in the boot area over time....
That´s an Dream on Golden Wheels
55,56 best looking for caddy.
Very nice!!
Beautiful car. I saw many of these in Palm Springs when they were new.
Daddy would say, "Now, that there is an aughtaMObeel!"
Хоть и 56 года но до сих пор как новенький, просто супер
Cathedral on wheels
Love older Cadillacs thanks
These Cars must be in the market again
Elvis bought one new just like that 56 Eldo.Painted it purple later..
That wonderful grille!
Driven with ATTITUDE!!!
I hate all continental kits, but I could live with this one.
Starts just like my 57 Deville!! 😂 love it!!!
That is a very nice car. However, some commentary about the car would be much better than the music.
Gorgeous car! The excess of the 50’s exemplified in American cars was rightfully justified in context to what Americans had to live through in the 40’s. The boxy, minimalist cars of the 60’s do not compare.
WOW!!
It's the American dream realized.
¡¡¡Oh que belleza de carro!!! Espectacular👌
Beautiful! 👏😊
Porschedude8 thanks! My dad used to owns this car in 1986:)

Such a beautiful 🚗😍😍
It's pelasure to watch. I can do this all day 😄
That thing on the left side of the dash auto dimmed the headlights.
Another very well done video!! How do you find these awesome cars?
This car was owned by my father in 1986. He imported it to Norway from the states. This car was the first 56 Eldorado Biarritz in Norway:)
@@youngexotics2155 it’s stunning!
what a beauty ! love it
What a beast.
Eye Candy.
So glad they didn't show the motor. no.. really.. Thank GOD they didn't show the motor!!
Espetacular
To bad the model companies don't make a 1/25 model of one. The few resin body models are stupidly expensive.
They find there own Color white ?
คันนี้สวยมากๆคับ
This video should been some elvis music
i know, but unfortunately it would have been copyright striked. sorry
@@youngexotics2155 all you say or type I dont own the rights to this music
I want to buy this car
It’s for sale: www.finn.no/252952934
Je ne tr🥰uve pas les M🤗Ts
🥰🥰🥰☺️🥰🥰🥰🥰
Repetitive views of goofy ornaments, not one view of the engine.
Beautiful, but I had to stop watching when the soundtrack started.
Boring. The best part of the video was the music and I didnt like that. I want to know more about the car. What Caddy did different, the power plant.
Baby boy. If you wanted that kind of info why didn't you just google it instead of leaving a bitchy comment?
What Me Worry exactly if you were a real fan of old school cars you would remember your probably a super car guy.
Sorry about that. thanks for watching though:)
