I'm in a wheelchair and have good mobility. I can transfer from my wheelchair to a seat easily. My question regarding the SUV is once a wheelchair goes up the ramp in the SUV, can the drivers seat be set back far enough so that a transfer from the wheelchair to the drivers seat is possible?
This is an excellent opportunity for my family. My question is two fold. 1. Is there an opportunity to have a middle row left side captain's chair installed for a passenger to sit next to the passenger wheelchair user? 2. If my father who is the wheelchair user wants to drive and hes unable to control his legs, Is there an opportunity to have the brake/gas foot pedals installed for front passenger control so the driver only controls steering and shifting?
Andrew, the answer is yes and yes. We have something called a jump seat that can be installed next to the middle wheelchair position. Also, we have over 75 hand controls that allow people to drive with nearly any ability.

No, the accessible version of the Traverse is not 4x4, AWD or FWD. The lowered floor that allows for space for the wheelchair does not allow for these functions.
Help! I need to know if rear wheel drive, all wheel drive? Does the left door slide or open out? What is ground clearance? Thanks for showing us many things other videos left out.
The right fit for an accessible vehicle is going to be different for everyone. Some of our customers prefer a side entry because they are able to drive from a wheelchair and utilize hand controls. Others prefer curbside access of a side entry. Every person is different, so we offer both.
The Chevy Traverse has a side-entry infloor wheelchair ramp and is very flexible on wheelchair placement. The driver seat can be removed so the person using the wheelchair can drive from it. The front passenger seat can be removed for the person using the wheelchair to ride up front. There is also a spacious center area that is a wheelchair position as well.

If the person is going to transfer to a seat, many people like using an Unoccupied Wheelchair Restraint to hold the wheelchair in place after they transfer to a seat.

It is front wheel drive, 5" ground clearance, the driver's side rear door opens out. Thank you for your patience.
I never understand why people go to side entry vans when most car parking spaces you can use my getting in and out through the rear

Unfortunately, no, it does not. The lowered floor prevents it from being all-wheel drive or 4x4.
What years does the Traverse have the sliding door?
The sliding door is on all the Traverse vehicles we offer. At this time, every year of the wheelchair-accessible Traverse has that sliding door.
