    The Fernox Powerflow MK III can operate at high temperatures too.
    Question: why didn't you add your chemicals a couple of days before flushing?

  • @flash3168
    @flash3168  5 років тому +17

    This heating system had been piped in ten mm with a 2 meter flow and return from the boiler in 22 mm down to 15 mm then 10mm through out the house , you can power flush from a radiator using the adapters from the manufacture as per manufacture instructions and guid lines , it is important to use an inhibitor after to Prevent this from re happening and you will need to vibrate the radiators this will help a lot in flushing , for all the keyboard warriors who try and leave comments saying the general public shouldn’t see this ? I ask why it’s not a skilled job and you don’t have to be gas safe ?? Also if your a professional why are you watching how to do it videos on UA-cam ??? I didn’t because I did the course maybe it’s because I’m the professional qualified plumber ? Just saying

      my house was built 15 years ago, small 3-bed detached, cheap Glowworm/Jaguar/Protherm combi boiler, plastic piping, 3 rads upstairs, plus towel-rail, 4 downstairs. At least 1 rad is cold to halfway up. I'm going to get quotes (Leics area) but here's the question - what difference does it make since pipes are plastic, boiler is combi, so rad system is sealed (with bypass from cold to fill) ?

      @@flash3168 - no ,other way round, cold at bottom, hot at top. I've had trouble with the diverter unit, replaced by plumber 5 years ago, had to do it again myself 3 years ago (recon swap on ebay), did it again myself 1 year ago (using kit on ebay). Very bad limescale (?) inside the diverter each time. That's the only trouble I've had in 15 years since buying house (new build), not been touched at all otherwise As I say though, plastic pipes, combi sealed system, does it make a difference to how it will be flushed ?

Is there any chance of damaging the heat exchanger using such a high flow rate? How long does the cleaning have to run to ensure the heat exchanger has been cleaned. Flash, you know how to do a proper and THOROUGH flush job. I have watched your video several times and try to observant. What I have noticed is your cleaning machine is Pumped as well as Magnetised. The Magnaclean and other system cleaning kits, rely on the heating system pump to move the sludge, Debris and Magnatite. Whereas the kit you use uses utilises its own PUMP and TWO BIG Magnets as well!!. Now, I would like to ask a few questions to you, Please?. 1, How much more efficient is your kit pump over a central heating one? . 2, Does your kit heat the system to aid further in cleaning?. And lastly what is the name and model of your kit, cos if I need this sort of job doing to my system and Your kit seems to do a better job over just Magnets alone?. Many Thanks in advance, Leon. :-)

      This pump pumps 150 litres a minute that’s 1000x better than the circulator on the boiler people call a pump , you can run the boiler at the same time so there is your heat and the magnets are amazing , it’s from Nordstrom and will set you back £2500 plus’s depending on what attachments you want to use a power flush will cost from 360-600 depending on the size type of heating you have it’s always best to use a professional in case things go wrong , but I do recommend that machine I’ve had a few and his is the best I’m on my second one because I use it that much , hope this helps

      Hi it depends on the size and type of radiator the size of your house type of system ie combi back boiler system boiler , the age of the boiler etc
      If your radiators are hot about 58-80 degrees and you have no cold spots no noise and your fern ox filter is relatively clean you have been using inhibitor you shouldn’t kneed one but it’s hard to comment on I don’t know the history of your heating etc I ruff guess would be £340 but regions carry different prices ie Hull would be cheaper than London

I have put some cleanser in the system which has helped the exchanger but shelling out £550 for a flush just seems wrong when we hav no heating issues !? All rads are far to hot to touch when on , typical 3 bed semi with 4 single not very big rads upstairs and a tawel rail and 2x3 foot double rads and a 6 foot double in conservatory . Hard to trust what you're being told !! Thanks 👍

Look out side at your prv if it’s been running as quiet commonly people forget to install the flexi hose on the expansion vessel and if the filling loop is passing you may not know ? dirty girl it depends on how many radiators how big they are are the double convectors is it s closed system or open vented and how bad it symptoms are ie does the boiler work etc and where you live or hudesfield is poor area so it would be lower than London a rich area ? Try getting 3 quotes and go with the one who you trust it may not be the cheapest ?

    By the time you've farted about putting your drill on the outside of the radiator to try and release sludge, connected up the machine outside etc etc, I could have had the radiator drained down, taken off and be flushing it through outside with a hose. The latter of which will do a far better job individually flushing out each radiator with a hose than any machine or drill will do on the whole system.

    • @flash3168
      @flash3168  5 років тому +4

      No you wouldn’t do a better job ? You need heat and chemicals also pressure to clean it ? Some times I can’t understand why you people bother commenting , your obviously an not a plumber or you would understand how to clear a blockage in pipe work or the heat exchanger on the boiler ? Will your hose pipe do that 😂 and of course de scale the plate heat exchanger ? Answer no ? That’s why your watching videos to learn how to do it ? , I wish you the best with your garden hose , good luck 😂😂😂

    • @flash3168
      @flash3168  5 років тому +1

      Dr. Scott-Arthur ha ha I’ve just re read what your saying , you recon draining down a dozen radiators some which would be doubles and over 1200 long ie heavy buggers ,and then carting them down stairs full of black muck emptying them out side then using a garden hose 22 letters tops pressure otherwise it 12 litres or less per minute compared to a powerflush machine which is 150 litres per minute is faster all you have to do is remove just one small radiator and you can flush each radiator in turn and the boiler and the pipe work and the pump and any motorises valves and a much much better job 😂 I don’t think you are a real dr ? As it’s my understanding that dr are cleaver 😂😂😂, that would be like using a plaster to stop someone who has cut there arm off from bleeding out ? ( ie useless and a waste of time 😂😂😂😂) I thank you for your interesting point of view if anything you have entertained all of the boys on the night shift here on what would have been otherwise a dull night 👍😂

      @@flash3168 I wasn't disputing that you shouldn't power flush out the boiler, heat exchanger etc. I can see the purpose of that. The point I was making is that what you can do with the rad off the wall is superior to leaving it on the wall. This is because with a garden hose you can flush it out from a variety of angles, on it's side, upside down etc. Whereas if it's plumbed in to the heating system you can only flush it level which won't dislodge sludge as well as being able to move the radiator as you flush it.

    You don’t explain what your doing. Why did you hammer the rads.
    Less banging about. Pot plants kicking off the drain cover, surprised the street door is still on its hinges. No ppe no warning of a loud hammer drill noise. No ear plugs.

    • @flash3168
      @flash3168  6 років тому +6

      longlegs31 are you for real with the Ppe ? Do you need ppe when you get dressed In the morning ???😂😂😂
      If you watch the fist video we bang the radiators to release the magnitite and the drill vibrates the rusty black muck free so the chemicals can flow and the magnitite returns to the power flush machine and the rusty bits gets caught in the filters which you see at the end of this video the rusty bits ( magnitite is what blocks the radiators valves and pipes causing the heating system to slow down the flow and be cold the chemical breaks it up but to speed it up we vibrate the radiators with a drill and a adely vibrator and catch it in the pump ) hope this helps explain It more ! And no ppe is needed unless you want to wear it as water doesn’t hurt and the chemicals are none acidic so no risk of burns but if you do use other chemicals than what we do please read the label and follow the instructions gloves goggles etc ,

      Not only is that a retarded comment about PPE, but did you stop and notice his water trays were on the floor that would stop the door hitting the wall? Bit hard to open a door slowly with one finger in either end of a radiator full of water. Couldn't have opened the door before hand as the rad is behind it. He didn't kick over a plant pot he moved a bit of broken plastic with his feet because he doesn't have any hands free. Can't see he's done anything wrong at all, he's actually pretty tidy.
