Great video. Eight of us kiters from Seattle Washington hired a catamaran with 4 suites and sailed the Granadines in 2016. "Trip of a Lifetime" experience for certain. Traveling here under sail is the only way I'd ever recommend this location as it is just incredible to sail into a location, launch off the back of the catamaran, and have the endless party deck. We hired our vessel in St George, then sailed north for kiting at Frigate Island, Union Island, Mayreu, and a few other remote sites. I come from a world of frequent Mexican kite trips and I was just floored by the high cost of Caribbean travel. A $6 Mexican meal is $26 in the Grenadines. High point of this experience was the Full Moon Festival at the kite center on Union Island where we all kited at midnight. Imagine launching your kite in a rave with stoned people in your lines 🤣. It took 4 of us to launch each kite but the experience is beyond incredible.
yeah, definitely want to go back with a boat... hotel is not the way to visit
Beauty, great pacing
Awesome info, thank you so much!!
Glad it was helpful!
Looks incredible nice there, thanks for sharing!
Please tell us more on how to move from an island to the other, how did you plan your trip ? Did you book one night on an islsnd, the next night on the other island, and so on, or you were based in one place and did daily trips ? What approach would you reccomend for the non boaters, non kiters, non old all inclusivers, just people that want to enjoy the paradise beaches there
I mostly kited, and accidentally relaxed with the retired resorters :)
You can fly from island to island or you can boat. We found the hotel options limited, like it was either very simple or extremely expensive. We mostly stayed on Union island and then did day trips from their by boat.
I’d still recommend trying to rent a boat rather than a hotel. If you have other people to split it with, I think it came out cheaper than any of the options
Looks amazing! I actually finally managed to book a cabin on one of the catamaran kite cruises for 10 days in the Grenadines (been wanting to do this for years). We'll be headed out in late January next year and back in early February. Any insight into wind conditions while you were down? I've read mixed things online (some talk about consistent strong winds and others say they almost got skunked). I weigh ~215 lbs and was thinking of bringing my 14m and 17m kites with a Cabrinha Stylus 160 board. I have a 10m but was thinking of leaving it at home. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I was there in Jan and I never rode anything smaller than a 12m, and I’m 220lbs. The rule of thumb with traveling to world class kite spots is that you can and will get skunked at any of them :)
I think we had 3 days of no wind and 3 day of light wind which forced me to take foil lessons down there
@@erbartlett Awesome, appreciate that feedback especially considering we're similar size wise. Will definitely be bringing the light wind board and 12/14/17 combo. Also makes me glad I'm on the 10 day charter as opposed to 7! Thanks much -
I reminded me of Hackensack New Jersey north Bergan NJ
I hope you visited Sparrow’s Beach Club on Union Island for their amazing smoked marlin!
You better believe it! I would have filled my suitcase with it and brought it all home. Also didn't mind the rum :)
I was there yesterday!!! The water was lovely.
I took a few photographs and have posted them on my Instagram account (I use the same name).
I did not try the marlin. I had the tuna salad, which was delicious and at another time, a wonderful pizza.
awesome vid :)
My wife is from the main island. But we’re looking for a winter home to escape the Montreal winter.

Did you say you can stay on a boat than in a hotel…
yeah, there are a lot of catamarans that you can charter so that you can go from island to island and find the different kite spots. i think most of them are 4 bedrooms, so you need a few people with you to make it work. the hotels there are generally pretty expensive, so the boat works out to be fairly reasonably priced in comparison
I LIVE IN BROOKLYN NEW YORK
I'm from st.vincent and the grenadine the never went to union island I went to bequia and mystique
I'm from mainland St.vincent but the grenadine is such a beautiful place in the sun if you never visit there I recommend you should go for a visit your self to see the beauty of St.vincent you won't regret it thank you
Wish I'd had time for bequia and mystique!
@@erbartlett It's actually Mustique. Happy you got to visit Union Island and meet Jeremie.
@@jamalijack Oh, thanks, silly autocorrect on the iPhone!
The capital of St Vincent and the Grenadines is “KingsTOWN” not Kingston - this is not Jamaica!
Thanks for pointing that out!! I never got to go there, so please excuse my ignorance!
