I learned in the early nineties when all of the bass race started. And I had the brand new kicker 15 in sitting in the back seat like this and 5 of my friends ...and we were so squashed ...but we were just loving driving around with the sound.

This is my favorite song to bump on my evl 18 in its 4.5 cb ft box with a 33” port with a 66 sq in area. About to shrink the port down to 55 and add 1 foot of it to the inside and then gonna invert the sun, will have the same box volume and should pick up on the lows a ton!

@@kelnap2294 why would I want to do that? Too boring to have only one, two or three amps. How many people do you know that have a double digit number of amplifiers in their daily driver? I’m an Alpine guy and I’ve had collections of Alpine equipment and then sold them. I was collecting them again and decided to build a system in my truck and use some of them. It’s funny, because, besides the 13 amplifiers that are in my truck, I have a backup amplifier for my tweeters, a backup amplifier for my midranges, two backup amplifiers for my mid bass speakers and two backup amplifiers for my subwoofers. The only thing that’s keeping me from adding more is the electrical system. The dual alternators now aren’t enough when I get on it. Been looking for a triple alternator setup for the truck, but haven’t found one. I’m very close to retirement, so I probably wouldn’t spend the money on it anyway. I’ll just have to be satisfied with what I have.
I'm currently rocking the 12in VS12D2 hooked up to a 700.1 Stinger amp. It pounds pretty good but I'm going to upgrade to ab1500.1 Stinger amp and a box for the 12in EVL.Does it sound nice man

Yeah having 2 l7s on 1800 watts rms I can attest I wasn’t impressed for how much kicker charges. Never again will I buy anything kicker. I was a rookie. I don’t pretend to be a expert. Just ordered 2 Skar EVL 12s with a 2k amp. Very hard to find straight answers on internet but I don’t think I need to spend 2k on subs to have fun

I don't understand the honey comb in the port.. seems u would want the air to free flow
So stuff doesn't get sucked in, but yeah it definitely restricts the port
looks like you could just unscrew it

What did u tune ur amp to?

Have any of you noticed an unusual fading mark on the surround? Every Skar sub that I've pounded on, has those marks.

where so i get a custom box bruh. My local sub store has them made but i dont know if they are good or not
@@monkeyape9507 and the thing is with prefabs your usually not getting the full potential of ur sub it’s way better to get a box made for your sub
@monkey ape make sure the box is designed using software that adjust to the parameters of the specific woofer

Does it get the the loWs well?
How does it handle the lows in that prefab box at 38hz? Will it sound deeper than my current sdr?
The evl series can handle lows well in their "loaded" boxes not sure about their pre fab. I know my EVL 15 was great in its loaded box
Should I get a double sdr 12 inch or single evl 12 inch. Which one will have more power?
Depends on the enclosure

For sound quality W7.. if you can afford it
Totally disagree. I've seen too many of those blow clear out of their boxes
