As some of the community members have mentioned below: 1. You can easily bypass Microsoft Account Login using Shift F10 and typing oobe\BypassNRO. This would bypass connecting to a network. 2. Leave the password blank to skip security questions. 3. I mentioned Chris Titus' Tool. But I found another to be equally good: github.com/LeDragoX/Win-Debloat-Tools 4. Highly recommend Chocolatey and Chocolatey GUI for installing apps: chocolatey.org/
Another thing you missed / forgot to mention, is that if you're using an official windows is, 72GB for the disk drive isn't enough. A fresh install without even doing windows updates yet, is 92 to 96 GB.
I found you through your excellent traefik tutorial. Thank you! I love the way that you explain how things actually work and not simply a "do this and do that"
I just needed to do some quick testing with Windows 11 Pro and didn't have time to figure out the ins and outs of Proxmox. This video was perfect and got me up and running quickly. Thank you!
i never write comments., but I've just started with Proxmox.. and watched a few other videos on youtube.. Yours wasn't anything new (With regards to Win11 Setup) - but I enjoyed yours the most - and for me it was because you've explained in simple terms why you've selected the setup options you do... no one else explains it. So Nice one. thump and sub from me.
Hi! Can you tell us how to passthrough a USB port from host to the windows VM? Proxmox>WindowsVM>Hardware>Add>USD Device>Use USB Port...... this makes the VM to abruplty poweroff as soon as it boots
Can you explain to me what is the advantage of hosting Windows 12 in proxmox. I don't find the conditions via the proxmox vnc function convenient. What programme would you recommend for accessing the vm as a client?
I having a little issues when i install proxmox on my ubutuntu cloud server using virtual machine manager for networking Please can you guide or help me i am very new on linux os.
everytime I set this up I get 2 mouses pointers on windows vms and the UI from the web is pretty much a struggle to use. I install all the drivers and not sure what else needs to be installed. Once I enable remote desktop then I can access the vm from rdp without issue but the web UI is completely unuseable for me atleast right now. the network connection icon will also indicate as disconnected even thought I have a connection and can browse the internet. wondering someone might point me to what I need to change to get this to work.
Could you link this vid and the topics discussed, on your blog? Explorer Patcher was great, thanks! Also look at the choco installer to automate all win package installations.
Can you please do a video about adding iGPU in a Windows VM ? And possibly also in Ubuntu VM ? I have similar CPU you have, a 13900H and i am not able to pass the iGPU to VM
Thanks this worked once I updated patches it gave me bsd. doesnt see anything but bsd. Is there anyway to recover from usb and repair or reinstall windows via usb. Thanks
Hello Anand. Using the official Windows 11 ISO (23H2) I keep getting the "This PC can't run Windows 11 screen." I'm running an Intel i9-12900, 128gb ram, ProxMox 8.2.2. Any work around on this? Thank you.
One more thing, installing the guest tools and enabling spice, breaks the mouse on virtual machine, it just doesnt line up with my actual mouse anymore...
Wait a second, something is off there with that Windows... I always leave Windows unconnected. When it asks, I tell it "I don't have Internet". This bypasses any updates and Microsoft account. So how can Tiny11 just not progress without internet ?
I would add, that for some (for me for example) u have to change the boot order, cause for whatever reason, it lists the drivers image first in boot sequence, so it will never boot the windows instalator this way...
0:57 it is very easy to bypass the MS login on a fresh windows setup. Shift+F10, oobe\bypassnro. Also for the initial admin account, I usually just type something basic but not too generic like "localadmin", and if you leave the password blank, it bypasses the extras steps with the 3 questions.
I never put a network on the PC before I am done installing win10 - you only have to "continue without internet" So does this work if you want to install win11 and want to get around that ridiculous demand of having gen 8/9 CPU and TPM2.0?
OK thanks. I installed it on a laptop and I want to use the Win VM on that laptop. 3 problems 1 I have no sound 2 I have no WiFi 3 The video performance is bad Don't need gaming performance but if performance can be improved, that would be very nice.
You can right-click on the apps on the Start menu and select Uninstall. Some of them can't be uninstalled, but most of them can be, including Copilot On Windows 10 I could even uninstall Cortana. I live in EU so there was a rule if you live in EU you could uninstall Cortana
I use the Topton V700 Mini PC from AliExpress as the proxmox host (s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DeyvJYF - Affiliate Link). It has Intel I7-13800H (14 cores) with 64 GB or RAM.
For some reason when trying to download Tiny-11 via Firefox or though Proxmox it was slower than dialup days. A little wget magic and much faster. Gotta Love Linux Command Line. :-)

Good thing about the oobe\BypassNRO, would also let people know to add ipconfig/release if it still prompts for signing in.

Thanks. Traefik video is coming too, hopefully within a month 🙂

Thank you so much for your feedback.
Very informative, thank you for the video! I can't believe I've gone all these years not knowing these tweak tools exist haha
Excellent this solved so many issues i was having with my Linux VM on Proxmox, thank you, Subscribed.
This was a fantastic guide. Thanks so much, Anand!
Wow! I've been in the industry for decades and today I actually learned a few new things! Thank you! very useful and clear!
Glad it was helpful!

Great video. Great job. Subbed. Saved to permanent Playlist

What's the point of using SPICE as display and the SPICE enhancements if you are not using a spice client? I'm confused.

Thanks will do. Yes chocolatey is awesome. In fact many of the debloat tools that install apps also use chocolatey underneath for packages.
@@Simple-Homelab Very cool. Thanks for the vids!

nice and straight to the point. i like it. but where do you get the modified .ISO for local log in?
Thanks this worked once I updated patches it gave me bsd. doesnt see anything but bsd. Is there anyway to recover from usb and repair or reinstall windows via usb. Thanks

Try this: www.alitajran.com/this-pc-cant-run-windows-11/
Excellent Tutorial but i still stuck with installation process. My whole server freezes within installation :-/
can i use this as remote desktop? Hows the performance?
One more thing, installing the guest tools and enabling spice, breaks the mouse on virtual machine, it just doesnt line up with my actual mouse anymore...
I did not experience these but thanks for taking the time to share your experience.
Thanks Anand! Is there anyway to fix the audio (which isn't working afterwards)?
You will have to add your audio device no the VM configuration as no audio device is available by default within the VM.
Wait a second, something is off there with that Windows... I always leave Windows unconnected. When it asks, I tell it "I don't have Internet". This bypasses any updates and Microsoft account. So how can Tiny11 just not progress without internet ?
Its not just a Tiny11 issue. Its for any Windows 11. But check pinned comment on how you can bypass it.
Where would I stop to turn this into a VM template.
saludos desde argentina, es una explicacion perfecta para solucionar el error failed to run vncproxy proxmox, gracias y excelente contenido!!!
Muchas gracias!

Absolutely. Tiny11 removes those requirements.
My ubuntu vm can output to monitor using igpu but win 11 can not. Can you make a video on it?
Noted. It is an interesting topic.
This helped me a lot thanks. Can I chenge the ram and HD size afterwards?
Of course, you can change them. But keep in mind increasing is easy. Decreasing at the least disk size is a nightmare.
OK thanks. I installed it on a laptop and I want to use the Win VM on that laptop.
3 problems
1 I have no sound
2 I have no WiFi

great! very tnx
ctt win util is the only thing you need and can customize your own iso

crap. it doesn't work for me.
On the installation skip the password empty will not bother you with three questions . just note
That’s good to know. Thanks for sharing!
