They are great tires for x series size or maybe the little Arrma 1/5's...a true 1/5 and real power I'll rip them apart no problem guaranteed and I won't even touch a jump to backflip. Been through many sets to realize tires are made for certain rc's. As far as water n mud go...simple maintenance keeps them goin easy...some their $340 push lawn mower is a problem to work on so of course a $1k rc is gonna confuse them lol!!! I think this Xmaxx has plastic motor mounts versus the aluminum that comes in the ultimate? I wonder if there is much of a temperature difference between the two? I would think the aluminum motor mounts help dissipate heat away. Would be curious to see temperatures reported in the Traxxas link app on the Xmaxx with plastic motor mounts. Enjoying your content. I noticed my inner and outer Bearing races are spinning in the front and rear Aluminum hubs on my new XMAXX Ultimate Earl. I’m getting some Loctite Bearing Mount adhesive to stop them from spinning and wearing the holes. Just wanted to pass this info along to you and anyone else who’s vehicles have Aluminum hubs such as the Redcat Vigilante, ect. 👍
Earl, you ever have an RX cut out/gain latency when you got further away…. Without any noticeable damage to the antenna? Popped open the $90 rx and expected to see a pinched antenna but it looks fine? Acts terrible though? Board looks fine too?
I use wipes, an old toothbrush and water to clean my R/Cs, even though I'm told NOT to use disinfecting wipes. It's just something I have around. Now when I go sand ripping this summer, WD40 & canned air will be added to my kit.
EARL….what I did to my xmaxx. I fixed a ever so slightly larger and longer screw and a slightly larger thin washer for the axle keepers…works great ..so far no issues. After serious bashing the issue with the arms seems to be gone especially when I have a pin problem in the past with stock set up….👍🇺🇸🚘
@@rickroberts7611 Mastiffs are the best except for when they put themselves in dangerous situations such as when felling a tree unfortunately unless I speak to her in a commanding voice she just thinks I want to play. Would rather hurt her feelings for about 2.2 seconds than drag her to the vet because she wanted to be next to me. 👍💯 Other than that yes I agree except for when they have gas because with Mastiffs because they are large they have large gas
The down side of these tires is their weight who increases a lot the risk to break suspensions They are heavier than the Traxxas belted ones ? EDIT: I searched, Sledgehammer Belted=800gr for 1 wheel&tire, JConcepts Magmas=1000gr………. 4kg of wheels WOW they’re gonna kill suspensions/bearings/diffs/etc…

Reason I'm asking is because I plan on buying some paddle tires for my xmaxx to run across part of the lake at my camp this summer. I just wanted to know if I needed to run special gears and/or anything else I need to do. I'm definitely going to put some floating devices under the body. Any suggestions?

This is a standard xmaxx on the speed test I showed the temperature using a temp gun vs app from traxxas on that video

its 6061 aluminum, not 7075, so it will wear out faster. my 2cent.
@readeracing750 most of the aluminum parts upgrades in no way needs 7075 in my opinion as a diff cover just doesn’t need that king of strength 👍
