20 / 46 is what gearing is in my X Max , overheating some. Having a hard time finding 100 C batteries for it. Put a Max 6 in it couple of months ago. Huge difference , only have 50 C batteries in it. Much appreciated you. Thank you
No Optional Gear comes with the XMAXX Ultimate, I just called Traxxas to see if my green XMAXX Ultimate was supposed to come with one. Keep up the great videos 👍
For flying around I use 21- 50. Gearing in my Xmaxx. Check the spare it might be a 50 it might be 20-50in that ultimate. I I could’ve swore that’s what it said. by the way, two runs my receivers dead. I must’ve rinsed it out too much because it wasn’t in heavy water and typical XM receiver box. The ones I get they leak water cause I turn them upside down like wheelie bar in my hand rinse off everything probably rinse in the electronics too hard and getting too much water in there we had two runs two rinses and I dry it for two or three days at a time. Good video Earl thank you man.
Only thing I've done to my XM is swapped the gearing. I have some parts on my upgrade list and I'll be adding the belted tires to the list. Thanks for the shake done & testing
I did not see that coming I thought for sure the belted tires would kill a backflip and people would hate them. Thank you its what I have been saying the Xmaxx out of the box is a strong rc you dont have to run out right away and buy a bunch of parts. I feel like that keeps people from going out enjoying the hobby when they start adding parts up. In 2 years I have yet to break a gear on my Xmaxx my main gripe is the body falling apart. I did get a body saver after the fact from Ebay a guy in England makes them it seems to work good to support the body.
Traxxas knocked it out of the park with that body of the ultimate, plus all of the upgrades they put on it I'm gonna try to get the UTR Ultimate from my local hobby shop Got put a lite kit on it for sure ❤
Nice, I searched for this tire to research about it and this was the 1st result. Great content buddy, you loaded this with such great tips that I didn't even know I needed to hear. Now I'm convinced, the combo xmaxx package I'm looking at that is preinstalled with additional upgrades including these tires is the right package to get.
Earl at your new video today will like X-Maxx vibes is all way bring a smile to my face X-Maxx jumping if one of the coolest tank you taking the time to make the video Earl Moorhead 👍😎👍👍💯
My xMaxx esc failed twice. They replaced both. I didn't put the new one back in, that's why I'm using a Max6 w/no temp or voltage issues. Definitely getting the belted tires though 👍🏽
Great video once again.. gotta say I noticed a landing difference between the two in the last comparison video.. you don't get all the hop when doing the larger jumps.
Thanks for the video buddy, I almost bought the Belted Sledgehammers but wasn't sure so I passed, my hobby shop has them on the shelf, I will get them today, Thanks for testing them out!!! 💯👍👍
I really dont remember any of your other XMax's sounding like these new ones. I really am on the fence K8 or XMax. Be happy it was shrimp not dog poo haha. Congrats on 20,000 Sir🎉
Dang Earl! Now it looks like I'm gonna have to spring for some belted sledgehammer tires for my OG version 2 Xmaxx because I can absolutely see and hear the difference in the air and on the landings! They look great! Awesome video brother! Now I'm wondering what the optimal gear and pinion will be with those tires and the stock setup and ESC to still make it snappy and fun without getting it too hot! 💯🤜🤛
Yeah, I really like those belted sledgehammers dude I got the green one by the way, but yeah I’m gonna put them on my XRT and my other XM to try them out but they sound super smooth even on the heavy truck with all the aluminum on the ultimate there it’s still super smooth And because of the weight I was able to do 10 or 15 backflips in a row with the ultimate X maxx and not off that big of a jump. Just leaving myself full trigger the weight allows it to flip good vid👍🏼 dude.
I hope foam in these are more durable than stock, mine's foam disintegrate after 6 runs, also never understood some people installing a max6, tossing straight away the stock electronics and then saying they suck... I have been using stock ESC for 3 years and more than 40 packs and it is working flawlessly...
Just got my new Solarflare 8s X-Maxx 2weeks before the Ultimate was released. All stock(motor/esc) at first🤔 as of today added the Traxxas light kit for the X-Maxx, changed the steering servo to the Traxxas 2085X and the steering Horn to Traxxas Aluminum Servo Horn left the belcarank and other steering parts as OEM for now🤑. Replaced the stock tires with the Jetko 1/5 Belted Red Wheels with King Corbra Tires👀🦾 The gearing is Traxxas 18t Black Harden Steel Pinion and the Traxxas 54t Spur Black Harden Steel. No other changes needed so far since I'm a light in the Azz basher😂 Street runs and some grassy sod runs...next upgrade will be the Blue Wide kit for the X-Maxx 👀😱😎
Yes I did as well my standard xmaxx was two weeks before the release of the ultimate mines just been noisy on the gears so I’ve been trying to figure out why for weeks now 🤔
I’m curious to see how much they weigh compared to my proline mashers….that is to say if they are better and/or weigh less I’m game. I’d rather keep it all original traxxas. My xmaxx is all stock electronics as well, and I have never had a problem with that system. I’m not changing out anything until something breaks.
Great Vid Earl! ..was just wondering if you could give some details of the new servo saver. I mean I was using alu ones on my truck but had issues of rubbing metal on metal. I can see on the pictures of the new Traxxas saver that there is a kind of insert coloured black between the moving parts. Is this black part plastic or alu? THX!
agreed they seem way better tyres now even on the landing seems to control the bounce now like am mostly on paddle tyres for running it at my local beachside witch is the worst since all the salt 😉 think most of us with a half stock Xmaxx we will be buying these now snice there more versatile then the stock tyres now
Thank you, Earl! Always informational videos and a pleasure to watch! The belted tires seem to hit the sweet spot with regards to traction, slide, and air control. Do you know the weight difference between the stock set-up and the belted sledgehammers? I found that on my Big Rock 6s, the stock tires are only about 60 grams lighter (per wheel/tire) than my belted badlands which made a really good RC (as you know) into an amazing RC! Just received my new Xmaxx a few days ago and already did the same basic set-up you use (thanks again for those videos). Looking forward to running it this weekend :) Trying to buy the Xmaxx Ultimate, but Traxxas has not yet responded to me as to where I can get one :( Keep the videos coming! Cheers!
Traxxas should send you new truck with that noise , can’t be good advertising, thing I like about my maxx opposed to Arrmas is our houses are close together and I don’t have to worry I’m annoying the neighbors . My granite with plastic spur being tight used make that noise , did you use a Robison pinion gear ⚙️, maybe it’s little tight on spur

My Xmaxx is 3 years old still has the stock spur gear in it
I feel like it kind of depends on how often you use it and how hard you bash it.
Same here but mine are 4 years old 😅

Earl Xmaxx tires on holding up real good and make the RC handle like a whole new different rc truck 😮👍 good job Xmaxx on will tires all right

Yep they are awesome! I have belted on my big rock too! Belted is the way to go for me

Great video and absolutely love your bash location. wish i had something like that near me...
Those tires are like butter 🧈 👌

My orange xmaxx did 😱
Man that sure does transform that RC. Like what a massive difference now that's definitely 100% impressive. ❤ Roll on Friday. 😊
I wasn’t expecting that at all I thought the aluminum part made the rc feel the way it was landing 🤷🏻♂️turns out the tires made the difference 🧐
That was some great control with them there fancy belted tires Earl… great video too.
Awesome video! Those tires are perfect for the xmax! Can't wait to see what you got going on your next video! 👌😎👍🔥🔥

After watching that run I do beleive a set of belted sledgehammers are in my near future !
Appreciate all your support 🙏
cool. went ahead and ordered the belted tires. thanks for the review on em.

Great You found the gear noise!👀
Just scored a like new 8s xmaxx for 400$. Definitely going to order a set of these tires. Stock traxxas tires are awful
I keep the duratrax belted tires on mine 👍👍👍 stock tires seem to make the truck more nimble but I prefer the solid feel of the belted tires…
Yes I ran duratrax but shattered the rims so I stopped using them 🤷🏻♂️
Great video ❤man. Hopeful u grab another XRT try the sledgehammer on it
Yeah to me, they’re the perfect six scale tire for electric like the XM has XRT. I still gotta try them on and ask her to but cool thanks man.
Xmaxx looking good for sure . . . .
Time to tear it down see what all this noise is about 🤔

Friend of mine had his for years now , the servo died but that’s it , they just don’t have the same punch but they will last
Tires seem pretty damn nice 👍
Thanks! Awesome video Earl 💪👊👍
Appreciate your support 👌
Landings sound and look way better , that plastic / chassis slap sound is gone 👍
No way your ultimate going sound like that , did u ever check the motor , squeak but probably rear bearing

The traxxas upgraded servo comes with a stiffer spring and an adjustable servo link the next video I’ll so that upgrade 👌
I got my yesterday and added the wide kit

No I don’t have a scale to weight them
Ahhh, ok. Do they feel much heavier? @@earlmoorhead5555
@paulgaddini4813 they really feel about the same as the stock xmaxx maybe a touch heavier but nothing I can feel in my hands or running the rc car
@@earlmoorhead5555 Super! Thank you Brother Earl! That sounds great👍🏻
Just picked up my XMaxx Ultimate (from my only local hobby store)!
The belted Sledgehammers are 30% heavier than the stock Xmaxx tires.
My gear came today!
Earl, would like your thoughts on the M2C drive shaft and bash bar for the regular X-Maxx.
This is my kinda detail!! @02:22
I can't wait till my Xmaxx ultimate irrives in 1-2 weeks! What did you say about needing to change the gearing?
I wonder why no Red ultimate versions
I wonder if blue and green are their most popular sellers, I believe the slash and rustler ultimate also only come in blue and green.
Only way id get 1
Nice car 👍
great track !
After running a few packs with each, do you like the 20/ 50 gears with the belted tires, or 18/ 46 with belted tires Stock esc?
18/46 & 20/50 where the ones I sold I only run the 18/46 right now in the standard xmaxx the other is still stock
Happy new year bro
Happy new years
Why not proline badlands?? Non beadlocks
Way to heavy

Can’t feel the difference feels stock 🤷🏻♂️
