Dylan is so efficient and such a great communicato that he made it easy and fun for us.. He was so prepared and working most of the time, but having fun and enjoying the scene. This guy has a great future ahead of him.
I learn something new every time I watch one of your videos (in this case: amber light doesn't attract bugs). Also, I have to give a huge shoutout to Joe for providing the full breakdown and total costs. A lot of us always wonder what certain van builds cost to get up and running and although this one is on the high side, it's evident they didn't skimp on anything! Everything is done professionally and the design has great purpose. Love it.
Dude, there's so much I like about this fit out. Love the slide out bike tray, bike service rack on the back door, love the two way kitchen cupboards, doors on both sides of van, like the abundance of kitchen bench space (sink on one side, cooking on the other), 300watts on top, 2200W inverter.....Kudos champ! Smart!
I believe in having a good work ethic, and having a steady job is not a bad thing. But there is more to life than that and I just love stories like these. Because it reminds me that the daily grind has a limit. And at some point you have to make a decision. Great video!
Excellent comment. I think it takes a great work ethic to build and maintain a van to live in and to have done what Joe explained about saving. I do not but think "work ethic" is about the TYPE of work. It can't be. The term was coined at the start of t he protestant church when most of the work we do today did not exist ;) peace.
@@juniordev2570 you must be new to these videos. Search tiny house or van life + kids. People do what they want to do and figure out how to do it. There are plenty of kids out there.
thanks for this inspirational video! We lived in our ‘Crazy Daizy’ RV for 2,5 month when we traveled through Europe with it. Now we are rebuilding it so it will be exactly how we want i for us and our dog. Soon new adventures will come. We started vlogging during our trip and love looking att other travelers, because it’s so great that we can share our experiences in that way!
"Live deliberately". Great take away. Been collecting build vids for a year now and yours is number one. Turning sixty nine next month and I just bought a new MB 4x4 cargo Van. I'm now starting the build so I can take my own permanent road trip for as long as this body holds out. Thanks for the inspiration. Keeping the house as a back up plan and renting it out so I can have some passive income while on the road. SS will help as well. Can't say I'm escaping the corporate world as I've had my own photography business my entire life but a job is still a job. Now I can shoot what I want to instead of what my clients want. Perhaps our paths will cross on the road one of these days. Thanks guys.
Great video Cap'n Magaster Sir! These two seem quite genuine; good on them for caring to share a bit of their well planned, thus deserved lifestyle. Thanks for getting out and getting it done and sharing with us all heroes!
Love this van! It's so smartly built in accordance to this couple's needs. I also like that it doesn't read as "camper van" due to the stealth build. I'm sure that helps a lot when it comes to having to park in more urban areas.
Beautiful story, beautiful people, INCREDIBLE video. Great work Dylan. Thanks so much for working to share this with us. Joe and Emile, if you guys are reading this, you two are champs! Keep living the dream! :-)
Another AMAZING video with great content and production value! This is exactly what I hope my wife and I can do when the kids grow up and leave the nest. All these simple, van dwelling videos are giving me great ideas! Keep up the great work, Dylan!
This video gave made valuable info about saving to help with my RV experience. I'm just beginning at retirement age and need all thee tips I can get. Great video. Awesome van! Thank you!
Dylan Magaster is a MASTER!! Every one of your videos I've seen, I watch to the end and this is the common refrain... "Aww Man! It's already over?!?," and then I'm eager to watch it again!!😂😂😂 Thank you for doing what you do.
What wonderfully passionate and eloquent people. Their van really matches their needs and lifestyle. I see them as an inspiration and will definitely be taking their advice haha.
WOW What a great build!! The design on those cabinets is so beautiful. Everything about that van is just wow. I love the natural wood work. That has to be one of my favorite features of any home. I'm really speechless. I would love to see this van in person. I don't think the video shows the true beauty of this van. Not saying this is a bad video. This is a very well done great video. I love everything in this video. I just would love to see it in person so I can pinch myself to see if I'm a wake or is it all a dream.. lol... Thanks for sharing this video with us. Thumbs up for me!!!
Joe, what a fantastic job you did on designing the inside placement of things. I love to see when a person has good organizational skills. Your inside of van is so beautiful and homey. Love the artwork on your cabinet doors. The dog is so cute! He/she must make a wonderful traveling companion. That stream you shot was beyond perfect and called to me so strongly. You can't even hope to find such a perfect stream anywhere near where I live. It made me feel the call of the wild so very keenly. Wonderful video. You both are very talented. Thank you for sharing.
I met this couple and their puppy in Arizona earlier this year, we hung out and went biking/exploring for about 4-5 days. Friends you meet on the road, to which you shall meet again in the years to come. Hope to see Joe and Emilie on the road in the future.
This was an awesome build and video. I love Emily and Joe's presentation the most-est. Everyone doesnt speak so well or clearly with the fewest distracting mannerisms. When you listen to as many of these as i do, irritation accumulates. Hahaha. Thank you Joe for all the really helpful advice at the end which can be used for ANYTHING. THANK YOU AGAIN.
congratulations your build is the best I have seen and trust me I have looked at a lot for a home build its brilliant and well thought out. looking forward to future vids.enjoy guys.
Dylan, I have watched several of your videos and just recently subscribed. I enjoy your personality and the fact that what you produce is fun to watch. I have seen 100's, if not thousands, of videos and what strikes me most about yours is the excellence of the presentation. You have a great eye and the audio/video quality is outstanding. I learn a lot from UA-cam but, honestly, some of it is almost painful to watch. Yours are quite refreshing on the other hand. If I ever decide to vlog my experiences on the road I will constantly be asking myself the question, "How would Dylan Magaster present this?" Are you self taught or have you studied your art for years. Keep 'me coming. Thanks.
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I am self taught. I dropped out of community college. All I know about film making has been from experience and the great teacher that is the internet.
I usually watch theses things and end up hating on the hipster van life instagram crowd but these two seem genuine and that bit about saving at the end was great
Joe and Emilie, love the van! But take it from another bike rider--update those bikes! Yeesh.. things have come so far since that era of tech! They fit better, feel better and will make you more confident on the trail. Other than that, keep living the dream. You two are awesome!
Great van space planning. One thing, tho. The laser cut cabinet along bed. I would have asked for sliding doors. No hinges. Don't know if that's possible and would take up too much room away from the mattress area, but being able to just slide those cabinet "panel" doors would have been nicer to me. Gorgeous layout, tho !
I'd give this video and it's creative, awesome content an infinite amount of thumbs up if possible. Video quality, sound, music...ALL on point!! Excellent!!!
Great job with the video & love the suggestions of what could have been changed. That's so awesome you both get to enjoy life in a whole different level!

Hi I must say my first thought when I saw the Mercedes van, was this was another video from a privileged couple, but then I watched further & saw the clips from you guys actually doing stuff & quite well too I must add, so I had to give credit due where credit is due. To get where you are in the video required a fair commitment to the lifestyle you are depicting. I think that I can see you guys are the real deal & I applaud what you are doing.

THANK YOU!!!!! I kinda wanted to go to van life after college but watching your videos had made me want to do it 10000x more!! You are the GOAT and probably the reason I'll end up living in a van or a tiny house someday !! :)))
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how this van looks on the outside. i agree, i don't want a bunch of gear, storage, tanks, and other stuff hanging off the outside! the thing i wanted to see, though, was a convertible bed?!? does the bed convert into a seating lounge/ dining table/ office desk? that would've had me SOLD!
Another great story Dylan, and a favorite subject of mine, van life. I've noticed that in your videos, the people that you cover, you let them do all the talking, explaining, and I very much like that idea.
