  • World Diabetes Day is celebrated on 14th November every year globally. It is the primary global awareness campaign focusing on Diabetes Mellitus and led by International Diabetes Federation (IDF).
    The campaign for 2021-23 was “Access to Diabetes Care” and the key message for 2023 was “Know Your Risk, Know Your Response”. 1 in 10 adults worldwide have diabetes, over 90% of them are type 2 diabetic. 50% of them are undiagnosed, and two-thirds (72%) received their diagnosis with at least one complication. Further, Diabetes in Pregnancy is also a critical medical condition because every year 1 out of 6 live births are affected by hyperglycaemia in pregnancy.
    There are a lot of ignorance and risks regarding diagnosis of Diabetes. The complications can be prevented or delayed with regular physical activity, balanced diet and nutrition and medications. Bangladesh currently has almost all modern therapies and technologies to diagnose and treat diabetes.
    This podcast is for the young physicians as well as for the general people for understanding about different myths and facts related to diabetes and complications. Here Honorable guest speakers were very renowned Professors of Endocrinology of different institutes of Bangladesh named as:
