    Just in case someone is looking for it...
    The control you need to set for your independent twist joystick to the NWS is "NOSE WHEEL STEERING AXIS", I have it on reverse for the Z axis on my TCA sidestick.

      @Chewwy94  2 роки тому +3

      Thanks! I’ve pinned your comment so people know the axis command name :)

    • @pequenollama
      @pequenollama 2 роки тому

      @@Chewwy94 wanted to add some extra info to the pinged comment but I am not allowed to edit it so... Here it goes.
      When both axis are assigned the pedal disconnect button works just like in real life. You press it to avoid the steering to change when pushing the pedals. This is used to allow performing flight surfaces free movement checks while taxiing.

      @@pequenollama I think one should still keep the EFB option "pedal disc tiller" enabled even when you have a NWS axis assigned. I noticed that even when you have a separate axis for the NWS, when moving the rudder pedal, the tiller still moves along with it. As opposed to @Chewwy's advise to disable the EFB option if you have a separate NWS axis assigned.

    A 1000 thanks for this quick video. Spent over an hour starting up and planning a flight only to find out after pushback that I could only move forward. Then hours trying to troubleshoot the problem. Your a hero Chewwy.

  • @clum84

    MSFS has a seperate axis available for the tiller, and that's surely the best way to map it. The pedal discnnect buttong is really only used for performing rudder checks while on the roll, not as you describe it.

    • @Chewwy94
      @Chewwy94  2 роки тому +2

      Not everybody has a separate tiller axis available and only can use a rudder axis, so this is a necessary step to ensure you don’t lose the rudder authority on main gear touchdown as I mention by having both enabled at the same time. The FSLabs and the Fenix both model using the tiller for taxi so I’m going by what they’ve modelled! 🙂

    Hi Chewy, I have the Fenix, I only use the peddles for steering. I have the correct settings in MSFS 2020, but when I go into the fenix EFB I go to controls but I don't have the "PED DISC TILLER" option?

    • @badissaoud4923
      @badissaoud4923 Рік тому

      Yes they removed it from EFB , it's automatic now, on takeoff when you reach certain speed"45 knots" the tiller will not move and you will have the rudder authority , and in landing also .
      but i fell like there is not enough rudder authority in crosswind landings , i don't know why .

    I believe there is an issue if you have a separate tiller control. I think you still have to leave the ped disc option turned on and press down the tiller button otherwise you have no rudder authority. Fenix rudder situation right now is so confusing that I drives me crazy. Can’t believe such a great plane would have issues with rudder. V1 simulations had issues too

    Cheewy, could you help with a problem ref setting up the TM TFRP brakes on Fenix A320. Mine are reversed, ie ON, until I press the pedals down which releases them! They are set up in Control Options Right Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis X, and the Left Brake Axis to Joystick L-Axis Y, reverse axis boxes both ticked. If I untick them the brakes stay ON whether pedals depressed or not. Any ideas?

    • @Chewwy94
      @Chewwy94  2 роки тому

      The best set up for that is to use the rudder axis for the rudder pedals, then the twisting joystick for the tiller axis. I can’t remember the name of the tiller axis in MSFS as I’ve not used it myself. Then just ensure the PED DISC TILLER option is unticked in the EFB! :)

    INCORECTLY Bind Rudders in this video. This is not as it is in real world. Pedal disc button only disconnects the nose landing gear fom pedal inputs when the spring loaded button is pressed and done only for flight control check. Nobody is pressing it while taxiing. Just set steering axis and tiller (not a "black thingy") works as it should. Read more FCTM and FCOM, without making stuff up, as it is a serious model.
