It is not such a bad idea if you ask me. Maybe with AI and the way technology is evolving, aircraft will soon pilot themselves and pilots could sort of supervise the flight from home 😂
Ive got really good motion simulation aswell. The Bacardi seems to work really well feels like Iam on a rollercoaster tho. Also get added runways and taxiways that usually are not there makes it so much easier 😅

I am building a system almost exactly like yours: DOF P3, HP Reverb G2 VR headset. and Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Flight Stick + Throttle Control + TPR Pedals. Haven't fired up the system yet. Dreading the dozens and dozens of buttons and controls on those things.

When not using a VR headset, but instead a conventional monitor, said monitor really should be attached to the platform. A monitor detached and hence motionless results in a great deal of the immersive illusion being lost.
Put a single step, step stool right next to your rig. This will make it easier to get in and out of the seat without having to fall in/out of it. I did this and it works great. I can just see you trying to explain what you did to the emergency room doctor that is putting a cast on your arm... :)

Hey, if you are making a realistic setup for airbus and want to upgrade the airbus sidestick from thrustmaster. I think there is some high quality add-ons for the thrustmaster warthog stick.
